    You realize that you swapped the props? The prop that you took of last you put on the boat on the left side looking from the back of the boat. Left turn prop on the right . Right turn prop on the left. Just saying. But nice video on the maintenance

    Hi, I have a catamaran like you. My first boat. So a lot of discovery. I was wondering if you can tell me how do you create a little gap like you say to not damage the back of the rudder?

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  Год назад +1

      It's just the matter of pulling the shaft out very little to create some play of around 3mm.

    Thanks for putting this video out very useful, question in regards to the flex shaft, It was my first time removing it and greasing it so when i reinstalled the flex shaft into the stuff tube and i locked it down the flex shaft would have very slight play if you move it forward and backward, is that normal?

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  Год назад

      I think mine had very little play. I'm sure it's from the motor. I'll be home tomorrow to confirm this. Sorry for the late response.

    I think you will need two parallel adaptors from horizon hobbies to run 4 3s batteries. I have been using two 6s 5200 mah 120c batteries from Tindling on amazon, they just fit under the front deck with a little pressure but when strapped down they seem to clear the deck. someone on the review that I posted said they won't fit under the deck, but I have bought two sets and they work. My last trip to the lake with Miss Geico she hit 80 mph with no flips and stock electronics and stock props. I have balanced thinned and sharpened the props. This boat has to have the weight forward or she will fly. My stingers are about 1/8 inch above the back ride pad at the tip of the stinger measured with straight edge off the back ride pad only. I have tried different greases and found the high-performance grease from OSE to be the best so far and others have stated don't grease the first 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the shaft, on 6s it will slip and burn up the coupler and or the flex shaft. I wish I could find custom 6s batteries that are under 42mm high but longer with higher Mah like 8000 or up to get more run time. there is just too much resistance and power loss through all those adaptors running 3s packs. Pro Boat should have made the deck clearance about 2mm more and we would have been ok. Miss Geico is scary fast on 6s and real rush, but you need a area big enough with flat water for her to stretch her legs.

    • @nwirc

      No need to grease or oil the motor at all. Just the flex shaft that goes to the prop.

      It ‘s not that expensive, $25 aud a tube that lasts long than it will take your boat to become a shelf queen. The gun is expensive for what it is, a plastic syringe with some silicon tube works great.

  • @topgun5399

    The 1st 1" that goes into the coupler should have no grease. It will slip then your going to slip and wear the 1st 1" of the shaft down. That 1st 1" is Critical to not lube. I know that's what happened to me . PS: Lube one shaft at a time so they don't get mixed up. I use 2 6s lipo's on vacation and this boat is insane. I also use 4s witch this boat is fast but 6s is so much more speed. Just put them as far forward as you can the 6s does not fit below the hull at least mine don't. So I just put them far enough forward that they don't touch the edge of the hull. Make sure you double check all screws on transom couplers especially the couples that are tight with no grease on the1st 1". Alot of torque we these 2 6s lipo's. You can literally make it jump in the air at startup just stupid fast and fun!!

    There was another video on this boat that the guy had (2) 7000 mah lipo's I think 3s and he hit a speed of 72 miles hr. Not sure how fast you want to go but for me that's plenty fast and less chance of using my retriever especially on windy days. Besides these lipos are not cheap. Gives me more run time also. I would rather have double the run time on 4 lipo's 2 at a time then try to achieve faster speed. But thats me. Definitely cheaper and more fun time. More run time for your buck.$. PS: I did use velcro on my lipo's so there would be less chance for shift and that works great so you don't have to depend on the straps so much. Works great on my traxxas m41. Just a added tip. PS,: Looks like you have the right prop on the left looking at it from the back. Left turn on the right ,right turn on the left looking from the back. Is that what you did? I saw you lay the right prop in front of 1st prop shaft you took out and grab that prop and put it on the left 1st. Is that right? I replayed the video and that what I saw. Won't it change the way it runs ? I have the same boat but I made sure I did one at a time to not mix them up. Altho now I know what a right turn prop is vs a left prop. Anyone else see that? Just saying. Im a detail type guy so I see things

    • @nwirc
      @nwirc  2 года назад

      I have other rc cars and boats for these 6s packs but I agree 4s is plenty fast for this beast. Sometimes I like to test limits. I kinda new in the boat world and it's addicting for sure. I'll try velcro if I think it's needed. Thanks

    Get some better 10mm wrenches and make sure those couplers are tight or you will lose your shaft and prop to the bottom of the lake. There is not enough room for a shaft saver on this boat.
