You are correct, it takes a while to do these props right and then you run them and realize you still need to go back and work them some more, but once you have it dialed in they seam to have just a little more bite a little more grip to them than RTR machined aluminum. AWSOME video Big B. Thanks
Wow! I’ve balanced a couple props but I’m still a noob. This is by far the best detailed video. I think I’ve seen one from you about it a while back but this is way better. Thank you!
Thanks for going into the details of working a prop. Most guys just tell you which blade is heavy and don't show actual filing/sanding. Awesome job Big B!
Great vid B, I also do my own prop work , and it takes time and alot of patients, but when its right, theres no doubt it's worth every second we put into them. 👍👍👍Very nicely done video, very descriptive and informative. Thanks from the BG.
The absolute detail to your work is amazing. And knowing how much time you put into these props... i have a great appreciate for your work. Sorry to hear about the crash. I cant imagine how grear that break must feel like. I recently broke my elbow so I get the frustration. Hope you heal up fast. BG4L

Big B has one for boat props too. They are more precise but kind of a pain because you end up chasing a heavy side just by rubbing a little with 800 paper.
Yes, I have both magnetic and the dubro, I sometimes use both balancers when I get a prop with a bad hub, and I question the dubro. Graphite powder on the dubro wheel pins helps free the wheels up, more precise & free spinning
Much appreciated man, I did notice mine was thicker on one side of the barrel and it was causing the heavy spot to be between the blades and would rest with blades horizontal. Tried taking some material off both blades below the “equater” but definitely challenging. Gonna work on that barrel side between the blades and knock some material off. Great vid, just what I needed!
Getting a out of wack prop hub/barrel to balance out is tedious and frustrating. I made a video about working an out of balance hub last week but didn't post it because it was almost 2 hours long after editing. Kinda wish I'd posted it.
Thats a real rough looking raw casting of an H series prop from ABC, the ones i bought a number of years back had virtualy no flash on the prop. Probably showing their moulds have worn with use over time.
Yes, I agree, that’s very rough, I believe I would rather pay more for a RTR prop, however my best props are Octura props from years ago that I have done exactly what Big B is doing right here.
Props are the key to success in dialing in ur combo…I agree u need to work a prop in 2-3 sessions-1-3 hours total. Dremel tool and med grit sanding drums speed up initial steps..diamond grit files and 120-320 grit wet dry, then 600 to finish. I’m sure you’ve seen dasboat and dr props- beautiful! But for electric boats … You need to break down and buy a Brian Buaas “snowman”prepped prop to see how far u can go with a prop…20-30 years experience and records ….paper thin, uniform and both leading / trailing edge sharper than you can imagine ….he is a prop miester, and his work will open your eyes! sorry no disrespect B, we are not at his level. I’m a real boat and model boat enthusiast and live in on of the top Mecca’s of speed- Florida I have a nice collection of both electric and gas boats- and at least 50 props to help dial in a combination for handling . 40 years of boating and I’m still humbled n learning! I run a few classes to play in district 3 Florida where there are some very fast drivers n boats -I’m not one of them …. Yet! :) You wanna grow your channel- expand into gas boats and larger hulls- that will grow your audience . B,you are my coffee companion -I look forward to ur show every day.
I got a question. Not about this video. I have the 36 sonicwake. I dropped in the castle creations Hydra XLX2, .. I was thinking it could run on the stock motor with it. (On 6S) But it's not working right. Is this not possible or maybe I don't have something quite right. I used the computer link, but don't see anything noticeable. I'm sure you must try this. Help me out brou. Have fun.

Oh yeah, I always go back for a second, even third work/mod with almost all my props.

Big crazy- just Be patient - it takes a few hours to do justice to a prop. Learn how to use a dremel to start the process- finish with hand tools
A great vid B. Step by step for everyone who balances their props. Taken lots away from your tutorial. Appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Hi h20- love ur channel as well, ur new rigger is awesome
They make ballancers for rc plane props that are levitated by magnets for less friction. They might be a bit more precise if you need it

The devils in the details 😎👍

Are you going to make a video on the ABC Clever style props
Have a few to do
