I'm a newcomer to your videos. I was a radio tech in the USAF and did component level repair on all of the avionics equipment. As new system came into inventory we found that surface mount technology was something we were not authorized to work on. We didn't have the tools or the skills to do such repairs. Now nearly 15 years later SMT is now the norm for consumer electronics. I would love to get set up with a scope and hot air system but now I'm much older and my hands are shaky. I just wouldn't have the physical ability that you have to do this kind of work. I love watching you do the repairs though. You have a great attitude to your work and you're blowing the minds of all of your viewers. Keep up the good work and keep making videos.
Salaam. I can never understand the dislikes . Amazing job to fix the iPad . I’m shocked just how good you are . Shame not everyone has the same views . ❤️🇬🇧
You are the real deal my friend! Excellent video and even better soldering work. Each of those solder joints were the size of pin needles and you still were able to clean them with solder wick! I’m in awe right now!
Hi there from France 🇫🇷 Just fix a customer hdmi port, my first one. Everything went smoothly. I looked every video you made and it helped me so much with all your experience and tricks. Thank you 🙏
I was going to attempt to change my charging port myself. What I learned from this video is that I probably shouldn’t. 😊 Thanks - fun to watch the process!
Your video is very clear compared to other channels. Learning a lot of information that will help me at my job where they have me repairing a lot of electronic equipment including laptops. Wish me luck, I am going to try to convince my boss to get one of those microscope cameras for work.
And here I am thinking I'm the only one that does multiple takes lol Good job with this video. The more you make small mistakes shows us your still human. Love the videos!
Love this guy I had many devices and consoles I had broken now fixed because I learned so much from this guy channel it's my new hobbie I really injoy thanks to you mate your inspiration
Like a doctor, if the patient (customer) doesn’t give a ‘true and informative’ history, it only makes things harder to figure out. Your the “Columbo’ in this business
That stuff on the pads is indeed a piece of the old flex cable (substrate) and its pads. Just use a biiig solder blob to remove them, they suck into the blob when the tin between the pads melts. I see this a lot when someone tears off the old flex before the tin on every pad is melted. Instead of tearing off the pads on the PCB, it tears off the pads on the flex cable, along with a piece of the plastic substrate.
These things are sent to test us and test us they do. Sometimes it’s the customers that test us. Question for customer... Any prior attempts? 🤣 What we should ask is... do you own a soldering iron or ever heard of a pentalobe? As always, nice fix. I’m sure it’s all very embarrassing and the customer will be very pleased. 👍 from me. 🇬🇧
hi ! im from quebec canada , here at ALMA quebec , electronic tools are not aviable , i would like to know what hot air station you are using , where to buy it online and whath you reccomand if its no more aviable ils like 1 month i work on a DIY with 3 diesel glowplugs and a Coolant heater flange from a Volkswagen TDI and an air compressor set to 3psi , but you know , ive just realised that is more worth to buy a real station , i love your video , can'T wait to buy real tools and start to experience what ive learn from you thanks so much to exist
"Trust, but verify." ;) Trust only your own eyes and intuition. "The next morning my PC refused to turn on" last time turned out to actually be "I bent some pins on my AMD CPU" 😂 Some straight up lie, some just don't know what secrets other family members are keeping from them. 😁
Just want to start by saying I love your vids i own a repair shop as well I just don't understand the part where you said you're going to charge the customer for both pieces when it's our job to check the device thoroughly you can't trust a customer sometimes they don't know about the device and sometimes they lie you should have definitely check the flex cable before attempting any kind of chips replacment. Very risky to do the customer is not going to know all the info every single time it's our job to protect yourself by checking every piece and doing the easiest repair first Yes customer should have told you but its on you to check to protect yourself from issues and safe time. God forbid you are changing the tristar chip something goes wrong and the whole time is was the port which was unchecked
Economies of scale. Everyone and his brother has a calculator, cost of setting up production spread over 100s of 1000s of units. Want only a few hundred or a few thousand of something the cost goes way way up. Often small runs are assembled by hand rather than machine.

Everything went smoothly.
I looked every video you made and it helped me so much with all your experience and tricks.
Thank you 🙏
Keep adding bloopers
that customer is something special for not telling about the attempted repair.
Perfect and great job. It shows that even the masters and pros can have a few blips and are humble to acknowledge and rectify promptly.
Even though I never worked on Apple products I enjoy all the videos. The bloopers this time was a nice touch.
I was going to attempt to change my charging port myself. What I learned from this video is that I probably shouldn’t. 😊 Thanks - fun to watch the process!

Haha bloopers are 👍. That’s totally me when trying to record a repair video, then I just give up and never upload 😂
The disappointment in his voice when he said "we have missing pad"😄😄😄
And here I am thinking I'm the only one that does multiple takes lol
Good job with this video. The more you make small mistakes shows us your still human.
Love the videos!
Bloopers are awesome 😁 you can should make a video of them
In the beginning I thought it’s a horichima bomb after removing that pice of the old flex cable it turned out it’s just fireworks 😅
I greatly admire your precision skills. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Love this guy I had many devices and consoles I had broken now fixed because I learned so much from this guy channel it's my new hobbie I really injoy thanks to you mate your inspiration

If the multimeter does not have a beep feature in diode mode how can I tell if it has a short?
Have you ever worked on an iPad 3 air 2019?
great video.
Sir, my VGA card was used as mining and I accidentally updated the driver, so my VGA card doesn't display any images. What do you think I should do?
It would have been better if the customer had said that the flex cable was replaced.

It's a good job this tablet is not a Macbook! 😅
This may also happen on 2018 models, because this happened to me.
Charge client for changing tristar chip because you are lazy to detach the board, very nice logic...
Awesome
why is the tristar tester so expensive,it does less than a calculator
