  • Recording your live production comms can be extremely useful, whether to use for training or to record a full multiview for other reasons. Eartec’s Ultralite system is a big player in the world of budget comms, and they don’t make it obvious how to simply get an audio output of the comm signal, but it’s actually easy to do for only $8!

    Great job figuring it out!

Thanks for the video! What kind of cord do you use if you want to plug this directly into a Macbook? I have a Black Magic recorder plugged into a 40x40 video hub to capture our multiview in OBS on my Macbook Pro. Would I get a male to male 3.5mm cord and plug directly into my Mac or does it need to be something else?

Could you also then take the input side of that splitter and say send an MD feed from your soundboard into your comms?

I think so! I haven't actually tried it since we didn't have a need, but I may test that out!

Just tried this, and it works! You'll have to make sure your levels are good to not blow out everyone's ears, and the audio is suuuper compressed, but it's workable

@@budget-church-livestreaming I also just tried it and found the same! Definitely workable. I have audio coming too and from the hub now so I can patch our MD into the comms and then be able to talk to the band over our comms too. This was super helpful! Thanks!

@@AlexShourdsI have the input from the hub into my macbook no problem, I am not having any luck getting the mix back to the hub. Could you show a photo perhaps of what you have? Thanks.

I think you can just use the headset port to record, when you are using two hubs.

I remember running into some weird issues trying to use that port, but I don't remember what exactly. You also lose out on a headset in that case! But I guess if you're using two hubs, that may be worth it compared to the alternative!
