chaotic energy breeds chaos they know when you're nervous
Loving your gators! When I started working with them, I had a lot of issues of ours chasing me or charging the gate as soon as they heard us coming.
We were able to fix it by ringing a cowbell and throwing croc pellets in the water, to train them to station in the pond. Then we could go in and feed them from a small platform we built. They gators knew they only got food if we were on the platform, and if they were in the water or on a small astroturf station in front of us. It cut the food aggression down to nearly nothing.
Emily and Ed of Snake Discovery did something similar with their little gator Rex.
They showed her a bright orange frisbee at feeding time and Rex had to stay behind a barrier to get the food.
You can also train Iguanas and monitors with a similar technique. Some people use a visual cue or a sound/verbal command
Almost felt like Snaggletooth sensed when there was no more food coming. Are they as perceptive to us as they seem?
wyrien From watching Rex on Snake Discovery and from watching a couple wild gators at a wildlife refuge near me, I think they’re a lot smarter and perceptive than most people give them credit for.
I can't comment on gators but I know Iguanas are a lot smarter than people give them credit for. One of mine learned how to undo the lock mechanism on his cage door and they individually know their names.
This episode is better than Jurassic Park!! Love seeing Bobby doing great, enjoying life while savoring his food, Pinky being a teenager, and gotta love that Slinky being such a gentleman! Keep up the great work and take care of yourself, Kenan!~

Slinky’s enclosure is so amazing and the way he came out of the water under the palm leaf I caught myself smiling as husbandry is my favorite part of keeping animals.

You should write educational children’s story books about reptiles. Especially the way you make up funny words. 😆 Bobby Robinos story would be a good one, even Slinky getting into the wall of his enclosure playing hide and seek. I remember when you opened Inky’s traveling bag, you were on the floor so excited and whispering as to not scare the little fingerling!! She survived the great lizard caper…and the fact that she was ACTUALLY FOUND by the great Detectives, immense props to them…considering they couldn’t find a blue Lamborghini Urus! Now look at at her, my how our babies grow! So proud of you Kenan/Kamp Kenan, and honored to be a subscriber who has a front row seat to the good, bad, and ugly side of the operation you share with us! Your first instinct was correct. It's orient in American English. British English uses orientate. Inky is looking splendid and Bobby is looking so much better. That's a testament to your good care. Probably ought to unlock both gates on the Freds Lagoon just as a safety precaution. 😄 Scaling the fence is gonna mess up the links. LOL!

@@Heavens24Angel I mean a dog with a very high prey drive from both breeds isn’t the best for protection either since huskies aren’t instinctively protective to say like a GSD, any mastiff, other shepherds like Belgians, ridgebacks, Doberman, rottis, even giant schzunazers are bred to protect. He honestly got ripped off on a "guard dog". Not trying to bash the guy love what he does and creates but it seems like he did little research on dogs and didn’t really listen to people who are experienced with multiple breeds. Honestly waiting for the day he isn’t watching it and it either takes off because of its instincts ( say it sees a squirrel it’s prey drive will kick in no matter how much training with a husky) or even hurts a reptile since it has a huge prey drive huskies are very known for it
@@blank1778 that's probably a fair generalisation of the breed , but it's fallacious reasoning as it doesn't mean all will have that behaviour and one's raised in different environments evolve quicker to those environments, the fact we have so many breeds and with different behaviours is evidence for this aswell as all the dogs that don't display previous natural instinct like chasing , herding , protecting
@@Steve0272. it’s not a generalization when it’s a known fact about said breed. When it comes down to genetics do some of your own research. Breeding two animals that are aggressive produces agreesive offspring same with being friendly. Instincts don’t go away within a hundred to two hundred years. Hell dogs aren’t even supposed to be eating kibble but that’s a long rabbit whole. No matter how densezited a dog is instincts will always take over in the end wether it be dogs humans cats reptiles or other mammals. Instincts are based on survival for a reason. Why do you think babies can hold their breath naturally for longs periods of time? Instincts. Sure we don’t need it anymore but we aren’t going to evolve out of it because it’s survival
@@blank1778 instincts do go away with breeding to deny that would be to deny the origin of the dog evolving from wolves , an aggressive animal bred and within a reasonably short period in evolution terms they changed from wolves to dogs and become domesticated non aggressive , then we bred them for certain jobs encouraging certain traites but over the last few decades at minimum ther are less and less work dogs which has an impact on ther evolution and traites , the fact not every dog is a good work dog regardless of breed ther instinct can vary dramatically , many farmers/ working dogs threw the years being culled due to this lack of instinct you claim all dogs have , babies holding ther breathe underwater and opening ther eyes is a phenomenon but you can't say they will do it forever as we like other species are continually evolving and that behaviour may cease in time or it may not

I think the gator feeding was super sketchy, glad they have such a massive enclosure. But a stick would go a long way for a feeding.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have ledges on the fences in the alligator enclosure that you could jump up onto if you are cornered by the gators?
Or carry a long PVC pipe to push them away.
He went in without his stick, silly guy but, I don't think he thought he was ever really in danger. He had eyes on both crocs at all times and was just having a bit of risky fun. He already knew he made a mistake with pinky before doing it, now THAT was not the brightest idea mid feed, smh 🤭🤣

I noticed a big screw head sticking out about an inch or so on the tree limbs you have screwed together in Bobby Rabino's cage. Hopefully he doesn't catch himself on it. Wasn't sure if you knew about it but thought I'd bring it to your attention. So glad to see him doing so well! Love that lizard 🦎😍♥oh and as far as catching the fishies you could have also tried your throw net.

I'm amazed at how quick and interactive those gators are. I always saw then as animals just lying around and staring at nothing in particular. And I love how Snaggle takes the food really gently.

My Mexican Black Kingsnake just woke up from 3 months of brumation. She was buried in substrate with only access to water. I just gave her the first meal, and despite not eating for months she hardly lost any weight. Such an amazing animal.
