You'd want to print this sideways so that the long part follows the grain of the print. One accidental amount of pressure on this print and it will break.
This fender is extremely strong when printed as shown with proper settings and a .6mm printing nozzle. The two mounting screws bend before the fender breaks. :)
Yes! I revised the fender design 7 times and the latest and greatest is always on the website for download. Finally after all of these revisions it’s perfect.
We haven’t made one for Rockshox or other forks yet, although my new bike has a Rockshox Lyric, so I should get to work! What kind of fork do you have?
We tested a bunch of these in PLA and once the geometry was perfected we never broke any fenders. Downside of the PLA is if you leave the fender inside a car where it might get very hot it will become soft and deform.
@@SplitPhotography It helps a lot with mud ending up in your eyes. In the dry summer I don’t need a fender, but rainy winters in Oregon are definitely more enjoyable with a fender of some sort.

What's the total cost for the 3D printer and making this?
I have a design idea and was thinking about doing this.
We use Prusa printers and they are hands down the very best for the money if you value your time an sanity. Around $750 to get the one we have.

Mine was a 2020 Fox 36 27.5. If you have that fork it should work perfectly!

The material cost is only like $1.00 so it shouldn’t be much. If they’re running a business 3D printing I think it should be about $12 to $15
