Myrkul and Bhaal were actually subservient deities to Bane, this is plainly evident when Myrkul basically ended the life of every assassin on the planet to power up Bane during the siege of Tantras. as Bane was particularly miffed Bhaal kinda failed at everything during that whole crisis.
Played a Paladin of Bane for a couple of sessions. Was no nonsense & searching for a worthy ruler to serve. He had a soft spot for children & didnt tolerate unnecessary harm to children or women tho. Got me into several fights with NPCs.
Awesome to see this! I think Bane has the potential to be a truely terrifying villianous force. I love the idea of an imperialist theocracy ruled by priests of Bane trying to conquer and convert the world into its strict oppressive religious hierarchy. They would make evil faction for the heroes to fight against. Something a little bit like the Empire of Fjorden from the novel Elantris for anyone who has read it. Not a Forgotten Realms novel but still a really good work of fantasy that I would highly recommend.
I had a eldritch knight fighter with a find familiar of a black cat with green eyes once show a aspect of Bane their cat. And after a few very high charisma and roleplaying roles. Allowed Bane to be like ‘aww, who’s the lord of this hopeless group of adventurers?’ To the cat. A joke on how cats see us as their servants irl. And gave the fighter a boon of Bane. Called ‘the backhand/catswipe of Bane.’ When as a Bonus action, once be long rest, they can do a unarmed melee attack, dealing 1d4 + STR mod, and that one target is under the Bane spell for the rest of the combat.’ - gotta love lore forward boons and RP moments.
Your designs of Forgotten Realm deities by far the BEST out there, which makes it all the more of a shame that your channel doesn't get nearly enough recognition.
I'm dragging Bane in as one of the main 3 BBEGs for a new campaign slotted into our table's universe (Starting with a murder mystery at Castle Ravenloft Strahd is hosting to fuck with the big 3 baddies, since Strahd is a god in his own right by the time our campaign is set). This will introduce Baba Yaga, Vecna, and Bane as the big bads for this campaign, and tease the artifacts that will ultimately play a hand in the ruination of their plans. (Vecna's portion will mostly follow Eve of Ruin, but since Asmodeus is a huge player in our campaign and the other DM and I had a big endgame in mind, I'm going to have Baba Yaga, Vecna, and Bane ALL trying to take power for themselves. Strahd is in cahoots with Glasya during all of this, and both of them are working currently to keep these three from messing up Asmodeus's grand plan)
Your use of highlights in the dark is impressive. I think unique spells, mage and cleric, for deities and dragons is often overlooked. They are just as important as a unique weapon or battle standard.
An artificer in my game stole an adamantine suit of armor being used to depict Bane from a cult base, now he can’t take it off and Bane’s forcing him to do his bidding
I ry wish someone would pen a book of the Journey of the Dead Three. It must have been a little crazy not having a priest or cleric. Each one must have had a bag of holding just full of heals and cures and items that refresh after full rest that had the same. It would be hars to imagine that they DIDNT have some sense of comradery. They had to know how to work independently but also a team to a pretty extreme level. There most likely wasent any kind of love but there had to be respect..or thats what they convinced themselves. They couldnt of have such detachment from each other, maybe fueding prideful brothers, but there was still that connection.
Thank you for this video. It really helps me to flesh out Bane is the puppetmaster of the big bad to-be in the campaign I'm planning. A forgotten out-of-wedlock descendant of a long dead tyrannical king (noone knows except for the reclusive elven court wizard) arrives in the (currently rather peaceful) kingdom and gets corrupted (corrected and educated) by a secret Banite sect in the royal knights' order and have awaited their beloved king's reincarnation to claim the throne. Can the players discover the blessed one's origins and stop his corruption or will they accompany him on his rise to power?
My friend's campaign has Bane's dogma be like the Starwars Legions Sith or The Decepticons with the idea that treachery is not only tolerated but encouraged but if you betray someone you can't afford to make any mistakes in said betrayal. Also while he has clerics, his chosen don't try so seek his favor so much as try to gain power for themselves and Bane gifts them for gaining power.
In the lore, it said that Bane subjugated Maglubyet and the other goblinoid gods (those the Mag didnt kill when he subjugated them) so the goblinoids have to honor Bane in order to honor Mag on the other Goblinoid deities, or else be probably cause their deities pain.
@legendl0re , I wanted to express my admiration for your brilliant design of Bane, particularly the choice to depict him wearing a helmet that conceals his face. It adds a mysterious and enigmatic quality to his appearance, reinforcing the notion that he transcends mere mortals and embodies the essence of a true deity. The helmet hiding his face serves as a symbol of tyranny and war, further emphasizing his imposing presence. It's an excellent artistic representation that captures the essence of Bane's divine nature.
I e thought about the journey thr 3 must have taken and how it must have been absolutely insane. It may have not been possible for a single one alone. They would hace to been the most powerful mortals in tge world or all tge planes.
Just had a crackpot idea for a bane cleric. A peace cleric, PEACE THROUGH TYRANNY. Its peace when the people are so utterly tyrannized and oppressed that they can't fight back and when all foes are annihilated.
That's a fantastic idea, and also very true to history. Conquerors would bring peace to squabbling territories by killing anyone who would fight back. The greatest Unifiers always bought peace with blood.
"K-Pop Idol bane", i had to go look that one up because i do not give a shit about WOTC as a company least of all their constantly egregious card game that likes to make a mockery of the IPs it inherits, if you all remember what they did to Aragorn from LOTR. Anyway, upon seeing their "Bane" i busted down laughing, what a joke.
@@bastiancole3565 K-PoP bane haunts my nightmares xD tho I actually did like their interpretation of LOTR for the cards, big magic is a money sink that I refuse to indulge in overall so I admire it from afar
BG3 got me looking into some lore. You do a great job at conveying the information, and nice artwork.
I do my best xD thank you so much!
Doesn’t anyone feel that the narrator of BG3 has too modern a voice?

well they share a pact of some kind so theres some tits for tats i guess but bane is definitely the bigger deity

Good fights to get into xP
Some women really want to fight you.
K-Pop idol Bane?
Now Gortash's appearance in BG3 makes complete sense
Nah. Gortash is just a bitch. K-Pop Bane was straight up character assassination.

Yes. Intelligence. Not just brute force. Tactics and betrayals.

thank you so much :) and we're working towards it, spread the word if you can every bit helps so much
Came back after playing BG3. *[Spoilers (kinda) Below]*
Will now be referring to Gortash's gauntlet as 'The Pimp Hand' from now on. 😂
HA! love it xD

Impressive artwork! Can't wait for the next ones!
I always think of Mordekaiser from League of Legends when thinking of Bane
I second this notion xP
I can see this
such a great channel bro well done
Thank you!
Great video, loved every bit of it!
Thank you so much :)
Amazing as always!

100% agree :)

@@ThatOneRandomPerson299 that’s fucking awesome :D
Oh I’d love to see Zhentarim and Harpers videos!
i intend to get to them someday for sure :)
I came here to learn about Bane. Liked because of the hate of the mtg bane😂

I’m so afraid of what K-Pop Bane is…
Turns out it’s Gangnam style, not Boy Bands.
I am currently running GoS and I have reflavored The Scarlett Brotherhood and King of Tilvanot to be Bane Worshipers.
That’s super awesome!
Nice drawing 😎👍
Thanks!
i remember a character like this in either oblivion or skyrim maybe both, it was an orc god that gave you a mace.
Malacath is the orc god I think but I also knon Molag Bal gives you one

It would be awesome if you do one for Tyr and Torm as well!
Both are definitely on my list :)

@@danielzarkos thank you so much that means a lot :) I wanted to have that big scary knight feeling but with an air of conquest and superiority
Of the 3 I think he is lesser of the evils. That is why he takes the backseat.

All Hail Bane!
(and yeah that Magic set had awful art direction)
Very cool!
I don't know if you've already done them. And I just can't find them for some reason. But are you ever gonna do the gray hawk God's and goddess's
Divine smite, nah. Holy pimp slap✅
Pimp hand, lmfao
You should make more videos about dragon gods that arent tiamat or bahamut!
There's no escaping k-pop Bane..

shame that asmodeus could easily kill him.

I think Bane now takes backseat because he was a big deal in 4e, which was unpopular
