With the power outage thing - there's an official Disney storybook (called Disney Bedtime Favorites) with a Wreck-It Ralph story that's about the power going out in the arcade. All of the characters have to leave their games and congregate in Game Central Station to wait it out, but they aren't in any danger as long as they do that.
I think if they're unplugged it puts them in an unconscious state. The fear of being unplugged would be either (maybe?) losing memories if they are plugged back in, or just the thought of never being plugged in again (and therefore effectively dead).

    • @Koopalingfan

I think I got a more simple explanation for the whole King Candy replacing Vanaloppe thing
In certain arcade games, there are timed unlockables. Which basically mean that a character will be unlocked on a specific day, and you'd be able to play as them when the day comes. Maybe he just assumed King Candy was a timed character and he replaced Vanaloppe for some reason, he probably didn't think much of it

I can't remember how it was worded in official material, but he's just part of the device and is made of pure electricity, so we even see him turn into a spark and zap away when he needs to move quickly. He'd be there for the same reason that characters just automatically populate the games when they're plugged in.

I don't think that unplugging the machines kills the characters in them, precisely because it is unrealistic to expect there to be no power outages for 30 years. I think when the power goes out the characters go into stasis and then come back when the machine is rebooted. When the characters say "unplugged" they mean unplugged *permanently* and removed from the arcade (which is how it is shown in the movie). Being put in stasis forever is basically the same as dying.

That's what I believe. I have a theory that one night probably when the arcade was first opened, Mr. Litwak saw these characters crossing over into others games. He saw these characters have free will and at that point he realized that if he turns off the power or if there is ever a power failure than the characters in their games will die, so I think he got a back up generator so if there is ever a power failure the games will still be running thanks to the generator. At night I think before he closes the arcade he turns the generator on and the next day when he opens up the arcade for the day he turns the power on and turns off the generator. Mr. Litwak without a doubt must have a generator or characters from their games would've died years ago.

You see, Litwack had taken care of Fix It Felix Jr. For 30 years. 9 times out of 10, he formed a connection with Ralph. So he must've wanted time to see if the game will go back to normal eventually.

Turbo apparently took over Sugar Rush the night it was installed so Mr. Litwak would have no idea about the 'true' roster. As for not realizing Vanellopw never appears despite being on the game cabinet, she could have been a dummies asset removed late in development (afyer the cabinet designs were already in production). Arcade developers also released different software updates and sometimes entire machines to small groups of arcades to test their market interest before spending the money to do a mass upgrade or distribution, so it's also conceivable to think the Sugar Rush cabinet on this particular arcade was a newer upgrade being market tested.

If an issue arises with any electronic really most people would just "pull the plug and plug it in again" as one of the first trouble shooting attempt as that sometimes is enough to "reset" the game. That he didn't do that and just gives the characters time to fix the issue themselves or escape a broken game, already tells he knows *something.*
    -
I feel like if the game is unplugged, the character don't actually "die" die, but they are completely reset. I feel that him just keeping the arcades on is just a mistake that the animators made so they have a setting because without it then like what’s the movie with them being off OR the arcades are off and still operate when the characters are in it but just die when the plug is pulled but idk

I really like this theory it's very interesting and has merit. But at the same time, he could just as easily not know but still have a close bond with each game, especially if they were there for a while, and it's clearly shown he's worked there for a long time. I say this as someone who "pack bonds" and treats inanimate or insentient things with care and respect as if they are sentient; such as plushies, smart devices, electronics, characters in my video games (like Litwak would be doing), etc. I even once had a water balloon with a face drawn on it for a long time that I named.
Again, love the theory and the idea, and I'm not trying to dissuade anything, just point out another plausible alternative.

Ok one part about this is that older arcades leave there machines on because when u turn one of like one that has high scores it won’t save them if the machine is tired off, it’s manly newer arcades that turn off there machines

1:09 I mean.... no? From what the people see on the screen, it just looks like a glitch. THis could be caused by many things. Bad ram chips. Bad rom chips. Software bugs. Corrupted data. Heck, sometimes it's just due to the programers not putting in a limit to score or other variables since you're never supposed to get that far (Pac-Man famously has this). There was nothing there to indicate that Litwak saw anything about Turbo being in the new game, it was a mess of glitched out video when Litwak got there.

Wreck it Ralph is prob my second favorite Disney movie but I never thought about most of this besides the one where wreck it Ralph is gone like that just does not seem possible plus the characters are running around. Also all the Q*bert characters are basically going turbo and it is all normal. But also lastly nothing happen to Fix it Felix Jr. or Sugar Rush when Ralph and Vanellope went to the internet

This is one of my favorite movies, your theory is good but one thing I noticed, how does he know that the characters are sentient in the first place, how did he find out abt it? Also, if vanelope is a glitch, why didn’t he get a new machine of the same game, I mean, yes he knows that she’s sentient, but that would mean everyone would pick vanolpe also, the power theory is weird because can’t he just turn off the machines? I feel like instead of just unplugging it, they could turn it off, and if that’s not possible… HOW MUCH MONEY DOES THIS GUY HAVE!? How can he afford all of this???

    • @B.L.U.S
      @B.L.U.S 18 дней назад

First I think venelope is not a glitch and instead that's just her character ability and that sugar rush has unique character abilities or items
Second he does have a rich guy look so i think he just keeps the machines as a hobby after seeing they are sentient

Actually all arcades in the world well in that world. At least have sentient characters in them. This is proven in the second movie because they go into the cloud and all the characters in those games are sentient too. Also you said that when all the homeless characters came into Wreck-It Ralph's game, the manager would probably think it was a bug but when turbo went into the other game you said that arcade machine should not have malfunctions like that
