One of my favourite Lethbridge memories! No donut on the planet can beat the real Lethbridge spudnuts. After swim club (LLASC), a stop at the spudnut shop put all those calories back which I had just swum off. lol .... the new owner of the store has the original recipe and you can order spudnuts on Thursdays! I'd swim from Vancouver Island for these. :-)
Still can get Spudnuts, every Thursday at Crazy Cakes and now at Greens Pop Shop North. Nothing between Lethbridge and Kingston Ontario to compare. Although there is a great, independent doughnut shoppe in Kingston. Timmies, eat your heart out.
So good to see something preserved from my childhood. I remember stopping by here in the early 1950s for a spudnut after swimming lessons at the Y.

Not the only one in Canada, this was a franchise store and there was one in Vernon B.C. as well as other locations.
If I hadn't eaten them as a kid I would've though potsto donuts? yuk ,but they were the best I've eaten. I haven't eaten one in half century 😭
