In The Giggle, The Toymaker said to the Doctor something like "I made a jigsaw out of your history. Did you like it?"
That line helps me to handwave timey-wimey inconsistencies.
However, in Boom, the Doctor specifically references being a parent when he appeals to Vater "Dad-to-Dad" so perhaps the incongruity is meant to be noted and will be addressed in the next episode.

Oh definitely watch the pyramids of mars. It's one of the very best serials of an era when the show was firing in all cylinders. Right up there alongside tge brain of morbius or horror of fzng rock - that Tom baker era (the first 4 years znyway) had a surplus of just 10 out of 10 serials. To me it didnt really make sense for them to try and find out who Ruby's mum is, I know it was a plot device but surely the Doctor should have been more concerned with the Susan Triad thing, seemed odd with Susan about to launch her new tech at 3pm. Surely that should have been the priority and the doctor wouldve left the Ruby mystery till later.

Haha Rowan is so adorable :)
Even though I heard the theories before watching the episode, I wasn't expecting it to actually be Sutekh. And hearing Gabriel Woolf's voice gave me chills! Generally speaking, I thought the episode was insane, like, in the best way. There was SO MUCH to unpack in it, that I'm still recovering and processing everything. I really enjoyed it, and it felt like a very classic-RTD finale. His part 1's are always amazing though, floating so many loose threads and theories (I feel like every single Susan Twist theory I've heard of was mentioned in one way or another lol).. I just hope he can land the second part next week as well, cause the set up has been really great so far.
I'm also really hoping that the Doctor decides to finally go and see Susan (Foreman) after this is solved, like, even if we just get one scene with her at the very end of the next episode, I would absolutely love that and it will make the misdirect and her repeated name-dropping feel more justified.
While I seriously loved the episode, I did feel like there was a bit of an overabundance of characters. Take Rose for example - As much as I love her and glad she was brought back (I'm a trans person myself, so very glad for the representation; and I loved her befriending Ruby, making Carla want to join, and mentioning Donna and 14), I felt like she was very much out of place and under-utilised here. When we saw her in the trailers, I was waiting to find out why she was even in UNIT to begin with, and there was just... No explanation for it. That's a pretty small gripe tho, all things considered. I did enjoy her presence anyway, and liked all the small character moments we did get. I thought Kate in particular was amazing in this episode, Mel was good and actually had something to do for a change haha, and Morris was also a great addition. Fair point about them being children, though, UNIT isn't the most moral so I guess it didn't bother me too much lol.
Oh and yeah, I'm also confused about the bit where the Doctor implied that he hadn't had kids yet - Cause, as you've said, RTD1 era established that the Doctor was already a dad. The Moffat era reiterated this, with 12 having "dad skills". And even this season, we've had mentions of him being a father (it was an entire plot point in Boom), so, that was a bit odd imo. Also, I agree! I'm not sure if the Brig actually met Susan in the 5 Doctors (or if he was told she was the Doctor's granddaughter), but still.. Kate claiming she had no idea about him having a granddaughter when Susan's photo was literally in the Black Archive in Day of the Doctor, threw me off. Though, it is the Black Archive, so I suppose maybe she forgot lol.

    **32nd Regeneration**:
The Doctor, in their 32nd regeneration, becomes a parent.
The Doctor’s child, now a parent, brings their daughter Susan to the First Doctor, making her his granddaughter from the future.
The First Doctor becomes Susan's guardian, embedding her into his early adventures.
After being left behind by the First Doctor, Susan meets the 15th Doctor.
Susan then regenerates into Mrs. Flood.
Mrs. Flood lives next to her mum Ruby Sunday, who is the Doctor's future child but is unaware of her true identity. (A guardian from the doctors future to defeat Suetek)
The First Doctor vaguely remembers meeting his future child, leading to the 10th Doctor's hazy memories about being a parent.
(I used current character’s to build my theory, but I like the Idea Susan was from the first doctors future, sent back in time)

It was a decent episode and about what I expected, quality wise, for the first of a two-parter. As in, all set-up. At least I was right that Susan Triad wasn't Susan Foreman but that was obvious to me. I didn't know who The One Who Waits was going to be but once I saw the soldier turned to sand, the Egyptian connection clicked and it was clearly Sutekh. Once I had that and remembered when Susan told Mel to call her Sue, the Sue Tech link came straight to mind.
Regarding Mrs Flood, in 73 Yards she said to Ruby (regarding her troubles) something like "That's nothing to do with me." That immediately said to me, she is involved with something. Which we knew but that confirmed it for me. Now it's what she's involved with. The fact they've made her seem sinister but hasn't done anything bad, makes me think she could be a good person, just lacking in manners.
I want to see Osgood, Maurice, Shirley and Malcolm together all having some kind of scientific disagreement/argument. That could be fun. After all the teases, I definitely want Susan Foreman to appear next week. Or at least a tease of her for the Xmas episode. RTD must deliver on that now.

Though I suppose the Doctor doesn't realise she's still alive. I'm still confused over who Susan Triad is. She's humam, but somehow connected to Sutekh. She's not being used as a harbinger as that's Harriet, so...? And when did Sutekh attach himself to the Tardis? The Tardis was already making that groaning noise in Wide Blue Yonder.

And when did the "beast"/Sutekh get on the Tardis? I also heard two really good theories: 1) Ruby's mother wasn't pointing at the Doctor, but was pointing at Sutekh on/around the Tardis. And 2) Mrs. Flood didn't know about the Doctor or the Tardis until Sutekh went around it in 2004, so when the Doctor came back to 2023, Mrs. Flood knew what the Tardis was because of Sutekh somehow 🤔 Also, the camera at the church on Ruby road was 66 meters away from the church, which is approximately 73 yards away! 🤯🤯 9.5/10 episode for me!

8:01 per the “not yet” comment-the Doctor could be talking about it from Kate’s point of view. The Doctor has, on screen, had at least one child; but that will have been in the future for Kate, although it’s in the Doctor’s past.

I enjoyed this episode, though I deliberately avoided some of the speculation re the 3rd Doctor breadcrumb dropped by RTD! I've watched all the 1963 series (on my second run now!), so I preferred to be surprised. I did laugh at RTD nixing the biggest fan theories in the first 5 mins of the show, though I agree that he owes us a reuinion with Susan Foreman. One thing I haven't seen referenced is the creation (imho) of the Memory TARDIS in the time window, where the Doctor comments on the recording / memory of the TARDIS appearing more solid. Makes me wonder if some of the finale concerns the TARDIS having been splintered 3-fold - 15's, 14's and the memory TARDIS all existing simultaneously. I'm also expecting them to tie in Sutekh's presence to Wild Blue Yonder, given that was Susan Twist's first appearance.
And as I'm currently rewatching Patrick Troughton, with some of the episodes retrieved in 2013, I watched a gorgeous trailer from the BBC before the story "The Web of Fear". Patrick Troughton addressed the audience, saying they're going to see the Yeti again, but scarier. He says "If Mummy and Daddy get scared, just hold their hands and tell them it will be alright". Hope Rowan holds your hand for the scary bits!

Ten directly stated he was already a father when Jenny was cloned from him and Donna was making "new dad" jokes. I'm kinda wondering if 15 said that just to try to change the topic or just to make a bad joke. It could end up becoming the new "I'm half human, on my mothers side" line that will get endlessly debated over, time and time again.
