- I had a question come through recently about how to ship 15,000 mealworms. I also happened to have an order going out for that amount, so I made this quick video to showcase the process.

hi. You did a good job. How many days can this pack last in the summer without dying? Also, the cargo companies I work with are crazy enough to play football with the packages. I have received screaming phone calls from the cargo managers because they exploded the packages.

The bags help to keep the bugs contained even when the box is messed up.
They'll last for several weeks like this as long as they aren't exposed to temps that are too high for too long.

It's a mesh bag, I'm not sure what the material is.
How much does each thousand large mealworms weigh ?tia
Depends on size, and then each colony will vary. If you're needing to count out your own mealworms, I recommend sorting them by size, then manually count and weight 100, then another 100, and continue until you see a good average weight. The add 10%, and you're set.
What's the breathable mesh stuff. Where do you personally buy it?
From a supplier in FL, they don't want me mentioning them at this time.

They are very hardy insects, as long as they aren't exposed to extreme temps for prolonged periods, they do fine when packaged properly for the current weather conditions.
I've had mealworms in transit for 3 weeks that arrived alive.
For the mesh bag is a filter bag? Will they eat thru the filter bag?
They've spent 3 weeks in a bag an not chewed through it, no issues yet.
