@The-Blue-Ghost-Plant-Co. sure. Just remember they only last a short time so if it takes 3 days the heat pack wouldn't last that long. Shipping overnight or waiting is usually best.
@Meme's Worms LLC the dehydration and shipping time factor will cause erratic weight readings. Secondly juvenile, adults and mixed batch will have different weight for a constant number. I learnt and always thought that it was preferable to ship them in their own bedding material for better survival as it has a thriving eco system. Or may be pack this material instead of shredded card board, bacteria does not take root so quickly in dry environments.
@TahirEhsan this is how it has worked for us for the last 5 yes with a great shipping rate. Very few DOA. We have tried other ways some like you suggest and had way too many DOA. Moisture in shipping can be detrimental in shipping. If it works, great just didn't for us.
Where do you get the fabric bags for packaging the worms, do you buy the shredded cardboard? How did you go about making your labels and the boxes you use like like you just use the same size boxes? What are the size of those little boxes?
Do you do anything with the peat moss prior to mixing with the worms? Like heat it or any prior storage procedures in place? Thank you for all the info!!
We try to leave it for a week just incase it heats up. Sometimes we use it right away we just have to be careful not to put in more than a couple of inches at a time so it doesn't heat up
Ordered from unc jim and I got 1.5 lbs of worms. Was supposed to be 2500 red wigglers and some mixed . I will never buy anything other than a lbs order so I don't get ripped off. Never buy from uncle Jim. Stick with MEME'S WORMS .
Why sell by count ? Nobody counts worms , 1000 or more , seller or buyer , so it seems that is a way to cheat folks .Cuz Noone counts 1000 worms . 1000 reds is 1 lb . I looked it up . 500 would be .5 lb. Don't get ripped.
@Bruce Hithcock, we only count the small orders and believe me the customers do too. Actually a lb of reds can be anywhere from 1000 -1200 or even more if they are juveniles. Wh'at do you mean by don't get ripped?
@@MemesWorms When did u count 1000 worms and scales don't lie but people do for more profit. 🤔 why ? Don't u sell by the lb ? That could set u apart if u did it and advertised why it's a guaranteed deal In comparison to those who sell by a n unconfirmed number.
@Bruce Hithcock I totally agree for this reason we always add more just to be sure you are getting a whole lb plus!! Bear in mind worms can lose upto 30% of their weight in shipping as they secrete during stress, so make sure to hydrate them for 24 hrs if you are weighing your worms to verify lbs.
WOW Samantha lots of good tips, love the way you all are so gentle with the worms and the way you do things surely shows you care about the worms and your customers. I sure wish I had known about you before this last batch I got, but if I should need more I would be coming to you. You better get ready for all of those orders coming this spring. Thanks for sharing your operation. Take care.
I'm ready

Hi! What about shipping when temps drop to freezing in the 30's etc.?
You should keep up with temps.and if too cold or hot to ship then wait.
@@MemesWorms Thanks Meme! Would shipping with a heat pack be alright?

Boxes are #4 box from usps and the bags we get from big lot bag company.
We shredded the cardboard ourselves
Labels are done through pirate ship

We can ship upto 90 degrees. Using t his method

Shipping in dry is the best way. My bad ... I got 2 lbs from Meme and I forgot it came dry. It was 2x as much as unc jim and I do remember that much.
You got a goin operation there. Congratulations
Thank you!
Hi, google says them bags don’t have holes in so wouldn’t the mealworms die while being shipped?
We are not shipping meal worms. These are breathable bags for shipping red wiggler worms
@@MemesWorms are they Muslin bags?
