I tried making wheat for the first time. I did it with compost and coco coir It turned out great, But one problem the worms never touched it. I left it in the bin for two weeks not a worm ate it. Removed it and fed them worm chow it was gone in a day. I watched several different video's, and I followed them to a tee

I am new to vermiculture... after you have your worm castings finished and sifted... do you have to wait a period of time before you can use them? If so how long? Do you use them straight or do you mix them with soil? Can they be used straight for seed starting?

I love the way you show all facets of worm farming, particularly on the commercial side. Too many want to gloss over the work and make it look so simple to be a big commercial enterprise. It is WORK, though it is very worthwhile. We have come a long way since buying our trommel from you, though we have a long way to go. Much of our growth has to be because of what we have learned from you. Thanks for keeping it real. BTW, don't worry about the camera/sound levels. If I was watching for entertainment, maybe it would be off-putting, but since I'm watching to learn, it only shows it is real.

Should that tape be included in the bin?

Is spent coffee ph neutral or do you check it after it’s mixed? When it heats up does it knock down the acidity?

I keep hearing about coffee grounds used for worm composting…..I’m only 3 days deep into my worm journey so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

My worms only get pre compost, I was doing it the same way but have swapped over to using my 2 compost tumblers, I find it less backbreaking. I turn them about twice per day, I have the kind with double barrels and a turning handle, so it is not hard to turn. I stagger the filling of them so I have a constant supply on rotation.

Did I see chicken in the glob of stuff? I wouldn't put meat, dairy or oils in that.

I think if you bought a bunch of used plastic fruit bins like that one in your video and stack them up, the make devices that dump the bin out so you could sort or sift them. You could even use a hopper feeder to feed the trommel to allow you less manual labor. Im developing my own worm business and i hope to someday grow to your size of operation. Im also a former customer and had a great experience doing business with you.

I enjoy all your video's One question will the worms try to escape the bedding in this video? I make a more involved bedding, but I don't have to leave lights on, I never have any escape.

There is a small dumping bin that you can move with your fork truck out there. It’s made by Wright. You could use that instead of all those buckets. It looks like you could buy some more conveyors and save your back some more. Thanks for your videos. I’m working on my business plan for my worm operation. I’m so excited!!

Thank you for all of the wonderful videos! I've been binge watching :). One question---at what point to you decide to harvest the castings in one of those big bins? I know you are moving to the wood bins, but they are approximately the same size, I believe. Do you wait until the height of the castings/bedding/worms is 6" from the bottom of the bin? 4"? Do you empty the whole bin at one time, sifting out the castings/bedding/worms/eggs and start the bin over? Or do you take 2" off of the top? Sorry, I have many questions. Thanks again.
