I have a top 10 (too hard to pick one fav). Misery, Pet Sematary, Under the Dome, the dead zone, It, The Outsider, the Tommy knockers, needful things, the shining and Later, and also his short stories like The Mist, The body, the jaunt, the langoliers, Jerusalem's lot and the long walk. Running man was also absolutely amazing.
This is such a genius idea on Kings part. To make a sequel. I’m so glad you read it. The movie with Ewan Mcgregor is amazing too and once the bring back more from the shining it gets even better.
Loved this book - oddly I was not a fan of the Rose character, here and in the film. Just seemed kind of shoe-horned in but I loved seeing what he did with Danny.
Great review Syn! Happy to see Doctor Sleep get some love, I also thought it was a great book, not a favorite, but still excellent. Listening to your review was like reliving some of my favorite scenes in my head. Looking forward to your King video.
Great review! Gonna have to check this one out. I loved the movie THE SHINING, haven't read the book. I wonder if I should read that first, or having seen the movie would be good enough to go on and read this one. Any thoughts?
I recommend reading the shining and dr sleep together, and watching the movies separately. Different things happen in the 2 versions of the shining that effect the sequel in each media.
Do you have a favorite Stephen King book?
Probably a tie between The Shining and Pet Semetary :) 🐈⬛

@@sandrabaulch it is hard to choose just one, he has so many.☺️ The Tommy Knockers is one I’ve been meaning to get to for a while now. ☺️📚🛸👽
@@SynsBookNook I really enjoyed it. I think it has great character development. Right up there with desperation, the regulators and under the dome.
If anything, it'd be the Dark Tower series. Also interesting that a sequel coming 30 years later can hold up to the original if not more so.
I'm with you in that I liked Doctor Sleep more than The Shining, but then I wasn't the biggest fan of that. I thought it was okay but that's about it!
Fair enough, it’s crazy the time span between the two books. 30 plus years, I imagine his writing skills and style probably evolved quite a bit.
@@SynsBookNook For sure! But a lot of people say only old King is worth reading. They're wrong, though ;D

I’ve heard the movie for this is really good. May have to check it out at some point.☺️

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed it. Rose was a weird character, I felt she got what she deserved in the end. She was very arrogant and unlikeable.
High praise!!! I can't wait to read this one... eventually 😅
It’s soooo good! One day you’ll get to it.☺️📚

Thanks Cliff! ☺️ I really enjoyed this one, I just loved there being a continuation of the Shining.

Thanks Rod! If you’ve seen the movie you could definitely read Doctor Sleep without reading the first book. ☺️📚

Is your necklace the symbol from True Detective???????! 😮
Alas it is not, I got it at an Irish store years ago. Not really sure if it is symbolic of anything, I just thought it looked cool.☺️
@@SynsBookNook it's totally the same symbol. 😊 Also very pretty.
fun fact i buy around 10 Stephen's King books but still i didn't read one 😄
I think a lot of people do this, I think I have 6 or 7 of his books that I’ve bought that I haven’t read yet.📚📚📚
