    The brand new EcoFlow RIVER Mini may be the perfect combination of power and portability. It provides 210W of energy that you can use to charge and operate all of your portable devices. The RIVER Mini packs in enough ports to charge 8 devices at the same time including a wireless pad and a 100W USB-C port for your laptop and thirsty drone batteries. The best part is that it can do all of this weighing just 6.3 pounds and can be recharged in about an hour. In this clip I show you how it works and point out what make it one of my favorite new products. Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions!

    First time viewer of your channel. I am in the UK and I really like the way you genuinely enthuse about the product and explain clearly and in detail all the features and functions and specifications of said product. Have you by any chance been employed in sales or marketing because you actually get people to want to buy this product knowing that you personally own one have tested it and trust it. A lot of stores in the UK when you go to buy something electronic the sales person will just tell you what you want to hear to get you to part with your cash. A lot of them probably have not even read manuals for the products they sell. I hate it when you buy a product even if its only a connection cable after schlepping to get it being assured it will fit your device only to get home and realise they sold you the wrong one and then you have to waste shoe leather or petrol to go back and queue to get it sorted.

      Thanks for the post and I think you're sensing my excitement about the product in the review. I review a lot of Portable Power Stations and this one is really unique. I am impressed with how much advanced tech they have built into the product and wanted to make sure folks understood that it wasn't just a battery with an inverter stuck on the end of it. I'll be reviewing some of their larger units as well on the channel and I'm sure I'll be just as excited to review those as well. I hope that help! Rick

      @@henrycruz45cal Henry, I respect your opinion about the product but you're mistaken in some of your assumptions. I've explained it in detail under your other comment. The RIVER Mini is a radically different design than other Portable Power Stations and I've tested it extensively to validate my excitement for the product.

      @@jackolson9462 Jack thanks for the kind words on the clip. I did explain the tech behind the portable power station as well as how it works. I'm not sure what "tests" you wanted to see since it's impossible to cover every individual charging scenario. What EcoFlow has built here is simply the smartest, most versatile power bank available today in it's capacity.

    Thanks for the review, just purchased one myself and all in all pretty happy with it.
    Not many come close to the whole package Ecoflow offers in their solar power stations, even if they are cheaper and have LiFePO4 cells like Bluetti has in most of their products. The data show by the display and the power handling of the device is just unmatched from what I can tell, Jackery, Goal Zero and Bluetti. Also that it doesn’t have a powerbrick is great …..as you point out.
    One thing that do annoy me is that the fan seems to kick in at a timed interval, so tried using it for charging my phone while sleeping and even when it was only consuming a few watts it would start the fan several times during the night and the duration seemed very similar. Also tried it during the day charging some headphones where it also turned on several times. Seems like they could fix that in a firmware update because pretty sure it not a thermal threshold being exceeded. Of course if I charge the power station the fan runs all the time, but love that X-stream charging technology …freaking fast.
    Even though you say that NCM is a good battery chemistry, I wish more of their products had LiFePO4 besides the Delta Pro, hope they upgrade their product line in the near future with that.
    Appreciate you technical approach, even without the testing and the sales talk, not a waste of time for me😄

    I just purchased the River Mini as I was looking for something to throw in my pack and be able to charge headlamps and other devices.. I am a big fan of Echoflow and I have a big delta to use in my off road camper.. I got the standard model mini for $229 on an Amazon special sale and do not miss the 12v auto charging cord as I use a $40 pure sine wave inverter to charge the units in my Jeep at the same rate as 110v at home.

    Eco Flow River: I have the larger one to make sure my CPAP keeps running if we have a power outage! It's a fantastic product with great quality build! It has many other uses, but if you medically require a CPAP when you sleep... you SHOULD have an emergency power source to make sure your CPAP still works when the power goes out.

    Tnx!

    • @Dronevalley
      @Dronevalley  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the post and the USB-C is an output only. The charging is done through the AC port and it charges really, really quick. You can get it to 80% in about 60 minutes, which is much quicker than most other solutions out there.

      @@Dronevalley thanks for your reply! Problem is that Id like to have a 50W solar connected to it at the same time as USB-C or 12V car cigarette input charging. Because Id like to charge the River Mini also when I turn on my car, but when Its turned off that it charges via solar only.
      Ive found some XT60 splitter, so on the one end Id connect a 50W solar and on the other an 12V input from a car.
      Would that work?
      Also, Ive found an USB-C to XT60 cable, so that might also work, so that I can charge it via PD too.
      Check on Aliexpress, SC100 cable.
      Thanks! 😊

    Is the only difference of the wireless & non wireless version the ability to wireless charge a phone on top? Amazon is having a flash sale on the non wireless version -$100 off! So it’s $249

    • @Dronevalley
      @Dronevalley  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the post and the 3 main differences are the wireless pad, 100W USB-C port and the extra DC charging cables for the car and the solar panel. I think it's worth the $100 difference in price just for the high powered USB-C. You can use this link for Amazon to get the Wireless version for $349 - amzn.to/3njN5ux or the regular one for less. They are both pretty amazing!

    Oh no, don't take this bad advice. It has a Inferior battery. Newer better batteries (LiFePO4) allows for over 3 thousand cycles before 80%. The battery in this one is 500 cycles.
    The DC car socket isn't regulated
    Also USB A! Are you kidding me these USBA ports or slow 2.4a not the faster ones (3A). And the USB C can only output.
    Ofcourse it charges pretty fast, its a small power battery, 210wh.
    Rick stop acting like this is the best thing out there, not even close!
    The rest of the tech is found in most other solar power banks, not a big deal these days.

    • @Dronevalley
      @Dronevalley  2 года назад +5

      Henry, you and I have totally different view of the RIVER mini and I have to debate a few of the points you've mentioned. Battery chemistry is always a choice that based on the application and NCM cells are a good one for a product like this for several reasons. They pack a higher energy-density that many other choices, don't suffer the dendrite issues that LiPo cells have and also handle the extreme temperatures better than other chemistries. As far as charging cycles go, NCM cells are rated for 500-1000 recharges (from fully drained to fully charged). If you have a partially depleted unit, it only counts as part of a charge so that could actually equate to thousands of charging events in normal use. The RIVER Mini also has a really smart battery control module inside that can extend that even longer by the way it controls the charging. Even if you full drained the unit twice a week, that would provide years of use out of the unit.
      As for the ports, the USB-A ports are Fast-charging with 2.4A of current. That's the maximum supported for standard USB charging at 5V. They are not Quick-charging ports, that's what the USB-C is there for. Standard phones, tablets, cameras will charge quickly from these USB-A ports and if you do have a newer phone that uses PD or QC charging, you can plug it into the USB-C port that provides that.
      I review a lot of portable power banks and I can assure you that the tech inside of the EcoFlow products has a different design and is more advanced than anything else I've tested so far. Their battery management system grooms the charging cycle to squeeze every possible recharge out of the cells, the built-in MPPT circuit does the same for solar connections. Their Boost technology in the output section allows you to draw 600W of surge power from a 300W product when needed to be able to use drills and other gear with motors.
      I spend a lot of time with products, testing them before reviewing them. Many of the other Portable Power solutions I've tested are pretty basic and use "off the shelf" tech that is bundled with commodity LiPo cells into a fancy package. The EcoFlow products are designed from the ground up to be different and when I see a product like this, I can't help but get excited. Finally, they are one of the few companies selling a product like this that offers a 24 month warranty so they'll be there if you have issues down the road. I hope that helps explain things a little.

    • @Dronevalley
      @Dronevalley  2 года назад

      I agree that the handle can be a little awkward until you get used to it but the top of the unit needs to be clear and open so you can wirelessly charge on the pad. I've had a few of these for the past 6 months and love the combination of power and portability they provide and the handle gets a little easier to use the longer you have the unit. Thanks for the post!
