    Great video. Thanks for all the great info. I just purchased a set of Raptor takeoffs for my leveled F150 on Bilstein 6112 with BDS UCAs and 1inch eibach lift blocks in the rear.

      Did the BDS UCA rub again Raptor takeoff ? I just purchased the same set up, Bilstein 6112 with BDS UCA for 2018 4x4 F150 but from my research the BDS UCA will rub.

    What psi are you running in the tires? 15-20 psi will give you a lot better ride offroad, especially with rocks. Also if you disconnect the sway bars (which are mostly just for highway handling) then you'll get a lot more flex and softer ride offroad too.

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  3 месяца назад

      My tires are Load C, so I deflate to about 22psi. I’ve actually looked around sway bar disconnects, but never found any I like. Any recommendations?

      @@havekidswillexplore No, no good ones available for Fords unfortunately. Just gotta break out the wrenches and undo them before offroading and maybe secure them out of the way.

      No problems with alignment. I have minor rubbing when I enter a steep driveway too fast. But i believe it’s rub on the crash bars. I’m still using the stock UCA.

    Do you think frame geometry differences across F150 generations will make a differences even with the same tire/wheel combo?

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад

      Yes, I think the different geos would make a difference. There’s barely enough room on my 2019 to clear the crash bars. I’m even afraid to swap my UCA.

    Good looking truck! My 17 stx is on 33s now, ans might be looking into 35s and leveling kit in the near future. Also What rock sliders do you run? And you have the rear locker or no?

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад

      Thanks! I love the truck on 35s. One thing to check before going bigger is your axle gear ratio. I have 3:55, which is probably the minimum you want with 35s.
      The sliders are the N-Fab Rock Rails, for light duty stuff. They’re bolted to the body, but they have saved me a couple times.

    how do you find this combo offroad? Im currently on a puck lift and 33s with my stock 20" wheels and looking to trade to something more capable, after a lot of research this is the setup I think best suits me. Do you find that switching from stock 20s on the STX to these, along with the 2.0s, made the ride smoother off and on road? How is it over washboard roads? How about regular pavement bumps and potholes? In the video it looks to articulate well!

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад

      If you’d like to chat more about my setup, look me up on Instagram: HaveKidsWillExplore. It’s easier to communicate there.
      The 35’s definitely made a huge difference. Being able to air down with 17” wheels helps a lot. That alone eats up the washboards.
      The Fox 2.0’s are entry level shocks. They made onroad driving stiffer for sure. Offroad wise, they’re not bad. You won’t get the Cadillac feel every time you hit a rock.
      My worst mistake was going with an add-a-leaf in the rear. That really stiffened up the ride onroad. Get a Deavers progressive leaf pack instead, or good air cushions.

    How abt the TPMS sensors ? Did you train them or had to swap them out ?

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад

      I was able to train them. Just make sure the seller hasn’t removed the tpms. You can train the tpms by pressing the hazard button 6 times while the ignition is at the on position.

      @andydurrett6222 2 года назад

      @@havekidswillexplore could you go into detail on how this worked? I am doing the exact same thing with mine right now. Did the raptor tpms register a tire pressure right off the bat? My truck shows no tire pressures.

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад +1

      @@andydurrett6222 You have to train the raptor tpms sensors to your rig. Turn the ignition to the on position (don’t start the engine), then press the hazard button 6 times. Your truck will honk and give you further instructions on the dash display. You release tire pressure according to the dash instructions. My raptor tpms sensors worked without any issues. Also, make sure your truck isn’t trying to read your old tires, if they’re too close. Hope this helps.

    Did you notice a drop in acceleration or power due to the larger diameter (and heavier) tires ? I have an old Expedition w 33s and 3.73 gears and am considering buying raptor takeoffs. Thanks for the video it was really informative!

    • @havekidswillexplore
      @havekidswillexplore  2 года назад +3

      Thanks for watching. The short answer is yes. I feel a noticeable loss in acceleration. I’m also driving a 2.7l with 3.55 gears. I noticed the standard shifting is 1-3-5-7 and upward. If I enter “sport” mode, it shifts 1-2-3-4-5, etc. In sport mode, the acceleration feels fine. Eventually, I’ll have the 315/70-17 tire size programmed in. It’s suppose to alter the shifting points.

      I have an 11 F150 with the 5.0 and 3.73s. I can’t say I noticed much loss with 35s. I’m sure there was a bit though. Also, they are narrower 285 wide 35s, so that probably makes a difference.
