  • In this video, I’ll show you my new rims, which were Ebay takeoffs. I had to go through two different sellers to find five. The experience was very good. I think if you just really do your homework, and the seller is a good communicator, you’ll end up with exactly what’s pictured. I purchased four from one seller which was an amazing experience. The seller actually talk to me on the phone several times. The second seller was harder to find because very few people are selling just one. In this case they had three for sale. By the time I received the single purchase and realized it was scratched. They only had one wheel left. So rather than deal with an exchange, I went ahead and bought the second wheel. between the two wheels I was able to exchange some of the bead, lock retaining bolts, and get a wheel good enough for the spare. Anyway, it was a great experience and I’m glad I did it. The 37 package rims stick out about a quarter inch due to their offset. This makes the truck ever so slightly wider. These rims are also heavier which caused them to feel different on the road. You feel more planted is the best way I can explain it, and the ride actually seems smoother. Anyway, here are the two Ebay sellers I used. And the shop was Fit Automotive if you’re in the Fort Myers area, they are fantastic.

    I can't wait to see the air box. I just completed the ratchet system you installed which was a great upgrade. Thanks for sharing.

    Great looking raptor and love the wheels. Question, did you remove the beauty rings on the wheels before having them mount the tires? I've heard people on forums saying to do so that way they don't get scratched or have someone strip the hex bolts.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  4 месяца назад +1

      No, you did not have to remove those and I don’t recommend removing them. They will rust. Either the tool transfer to the powder coating or the powder coating comes off. You’ll end up with little rust stains within the torx bolt. Any shop that has a tire changer large enough for these tires can do it without removing them without any problem

      @@bobbygfl thank you. So either way there will end up being little rust around hex bolts?

      Not if you don’t touch them

    I just switched over to these. I agree that the vehicle drives differently. For what it's worth it drives better and smoother. Were you able to figure out if it was becauase it's wider or the offset or weight? I'm coming from the cast 35s, It drives better IMO.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  10 месяцев назад

      It’s got to be because they’re slightly wider. That’s really the only difference. After a couple weeks, I don’t even notice the difference other than it feels more planted on the road especially when turning.

    Bobby - thanks for sharing! What exact tire size did you use on the rims since they were made for the 37” raptor? Did you change suspension or calibrate the speedometer?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  8 месяцев назад +2

      Exactly the same tire as the 35 stock. Just swapped the tires to the new rims. No other change is needed.

    Looks incredible, but I'm a little confused. So you have a 37 Raptor with 37 rims/tires combined, but you changed to 35's on those same 37 rims? But that doesn't make sense to me since it appears you changed the rims themselves, so did you also change the rims but keep the rims or wheels at the 37 size but put thinner rubber tires to make the end product a 35 instead of a 37 overall tire? Other? And whichever it is, it sounds like you thought the 35 overall size drove better and more solidly planted than the 37 overall size?

      This is a 35 Raptor. There are two factory rim options, the standard silver, and the black and silver. I purchased the truck with the black and silver rims. I bought the 37 rims off eBay. There is only one rim offering on the 37 package from Ford for the v6. I then swapped the tires from the 35 rims to the 37 rims.

      This is a 35 truck. I bought the 37 rims off eBay. Then had a shop swap the 35 tires from the 35 rims to the 37 rims. I get how it can be confusing because we’re talking about tires and rims as if it’s one thing.

    Just wondering if you still like the new rims. I have a 2023 Raptor with the 35 package and the first set of rims you had on and thinking about switching to the 37 rims. Thanks

      Grey. The black ones are satin black and look very different in person.

    What lug nuts did you go with?

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  Год назад +1

      I went with Ford original equipment, black Lugnuts. They were about $150. Some people say they are no good however, in my experience as long as they are put on by hand and not with an impact driver, they hold up without showing rust marks. We’ll see.

    Looks good. Like it a lot. Where did you buy? What part number? Have a 22 Code Orange with stock 35’s. Love the size, but not a fan of the gray/silver. Black looks great.

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  Год назад

      Thank you I don’t have the part numbers because I went through eBay. You can call a dealer though, and ask for the37 rim part number. I was able to get the dealer price that way, but I didn’t write down the actual part number. I will tell you that if the part number varies slightly or if the eBay seller calls them gun, metal or gray, I did learn they only come in to colors. Gray and black. So regardless of what they call it, Ford only makes them in those two colors.

    Why not upgrade to 37’s

    • @bobbygfl
      @bobbygfl  7 месяцев назад +1

      I think the 37’s look skinny from the back and front. That’s the main reason. But also because I’ve read the suspension is tuned differently on the factory 37. Happy with the 35’s.

    Great video and looks great. What was the cost for the rims and tires and what brand and size tires did you put on the 37 rims? I have a 2023 raptor with 35s silver rims and was looking to upgrade mine as well.

      eBay takeoffs about 500 each. Same 35 stock tires. Love this look.
