All-in-all a very pretty watch and the price makes it even more desirable, the accuracy is just the cherry on the top, very nice. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
The gray dial is important to me. The San Martin has gray dial and jade lume color in daylight. Really amazing presentation by SM. SM version is 40mm which is still at the lower end of divers. SM lume is amazing even rivals the Seiko Monster.
Jodi! You are a God-send! I was literally just looking at THIS VERY WATCH as my next potential purchase... (I ended up getting the same scuba dude 710 Vostok as you) I wasn't sure about the Fifty Four brand or their quality. And then you did it again! Masterful review, with all the answers I wanted. I will have to give Fifty Four another thought... Peace and love, brother!
I have the DSSD homage from these guys and I can tell you that they knocked it out of the park. Cannot find fault. And their customer service is brilliant and very personable.
Hey Jody. What a great little watch. But it also shows how good the lower end Seiko's such as the SKX 013 are. That classic Seiko logo, the great lume that perfect proportions on the dial ... if they only would put an NH36 in it. :-) Have a great wekend mate! Cheers.
Not shabby at all for $230, mind you Random Rom did a review on the Armida A12, that will run you an extra $219 and the look and finish on the A12 looks a class above this one, cheers for another great review sir 👌👌😎😎
Great review as always. I note on their WEB page they also do a bronze diver. Doesn't seem to have got many reviews yet either. Would good if you can get your hands on one of these, however, only 300 are to be made.
I prefer the Sharky (LTM) version. Much nicer anthracite grey dial, ceramic lumed bezel, better shaped sapphire crystal, 40mm. It's all personal preference though obviously.
I have the sterile dial version and all that you say is true! Easily my best overall watch out of around 30 pieces...lume is absolutely off the chain too! I wear mine primarily on a one piece distressed Italian leather strap. Comfortable and pure class- Perhaps an ultimate “do all” watch!
Hi Jody, thanks again for yet another great review and accelerating my passage to bankruptcy. Your review inspired me to purchase this watch in the silver faced version. In the FiftyFour Watch advertisement it stated a second strap would be provided and it showed a watch with a red second hand and black edged hour and minute hands. What I received was a silver faced watch with all silver second, minute and hour hands that are very difficult to see against the silver face. The promised second strap turns out to be an old offer that no longer applies. Fortunately for me Sophy at FiftyFour offered a full refund but it’s a note of caution to buyers to enquire as to what will be sent compared to the image in the advertisement. I agree on the long strap comment and the flat shiny crystal which would benefit from a domed crystal like San Martin use on their 62MAS copy. Which rabbit hole will you send me down next....
😍 I want this thing so badly...I just treated myself to a Hamilton Khaki Aviation earlier this year so need to wait a bit before I can splurge on a new acquisition
My first taught was: ah, a Merkur on the channel. Well, I was wrong. Somehow this FiftyFour isn't my cup of tea, while i like these Seikos, and the homages as well. The buyers of the Merkur turtle copies are very satisfied, so if you do have interest, check out them on ebay (seller: bjbjcs). The 62MAS is not yet available, but it will have to be as good as their turtles.
Not bad and looks pretty darn close to the 62mas in nearly all visual respects. A great budget friendlier option to the +$3k or even the other ess expensive 62Mas Reissue which cost just under $1k. It's got the looks and from your experience the performance, what the hell. Almost a no-brainer unless you're the type that has a brain that tells you you must buy the more expensive Seiko if the design is of Seiko origin. Considering the NH35 movement inside, you might even be able to possibly find a Seiko dial to match or an aftermarket one which may have more of that charcoal grey dial instead. My main gripe IS the Fifty Four logo across the dial as someone else mentioned.. not that flattering.. would rather replace with a Seiko dial (may cost you more, but still less than the real deal Seikos) or a 62mas style dial but sterile even.
A super little piece Jody.. Where do you dig these gems from ??? At that price point I would be modding the F*** OUT OF THAT!!! the dimensions are right down my alley...
The only Invicta I would buy is their 62 mas with nh35 and no branding on the case .Looks better than this tbh for under $100 .Its very true to the original
I'm loving your videos me old mate! Just a question about your Gearbest specials, are there any that haven't been flipped? I often look at such sites and like much. I used to live in Taiwan and watches are a big deal there, now I'm mad on vintage watches but still remember my old "night market after a few beers" days looking at the watch shops and stalls. So interested in your thoughts on what's great from your vantage point. Best, Greg
Heh what’s the Australian watch buy and sell website?? Found your show recently and really like your suggestions. Actually just ordered a Helm watch after seeing your review. Have an 8 and a quarter wrist so 40mm and above is good for me!! Any suggestions? Keep up the good work
Hey lance! Check out the AWBSS Facebook group - Australian watch buy swap and sell. Private group, excellent for buying and selling, oddly enough. Helm is as good as it gets for the money tbh. I have a Sea King reviewing soon. Keep you eye on awbss and you might see it there at some point too.... ;) cheers, Jody
How about reviewing some watches from the Swedish brand Nezumi? They make some amazing looking watches :). Quartz movements as well as automatics, all under €400. www.nezumistudios.com
You are always best when you’re showing a real bang-for-the-buck watch, Jody! This looks like a real banger!!!
All-in-all a very pretty watch and the price makes it even more desirable, the accuracy is just the cherry on the top, very nice. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Awesome watch for the price. I really like the idea of matching with the Uncle Seiko straps. Thank you for another great review Jody :)
Great review. I recently picked up an Armida 62MAS homage called the A12. Comes on an H-Link bracelet and also a waffle style strap. Cheers.
What a funny looking watch with the red letters on the dial.
The gray dial is important to me. The San Martin has gray dial and jade lume color in daylight. Really amazing presentation by SM. SM version is 40mm which is still at the lower end of divers. SM lume is amazing even rivals the Seiko Monster.

I will have to give Fifty Four another thought...
Peace and love, brother!
Another first class review and a lovely watch.
Thanks.
Very tempting..the watch looks good especially for its price...seems to have quite a number of colour options too
There's something about the dial that puts me off. Could be the logo, plus the spacing of all the elements. I really wanted to like this.
I completely agree with you... Something does not click.
Logo/lettering puts it off for me. Looks a bit cheap. Otherwise good specs.
The hour markets are super fat
You could swap the dial out.
Makes it look like a swatch.
Wow - a lot of watch for the price the additional accessories add on to the value.... as always good review....
they need a better logo
Agree! That's about the only thing that I wish they did differently.
@petterhny i actuly think parnis is better bc they both are just plain text but parnis doesn't have a couple of red letters and the rest white
That's actually rather a nice watch for the money - and it has the beating heart of a Seiko too! Thank you snack.
I have the DSSD homage from these guys and I can tell you that they knocked it out of the park. Cannot find fault. And their customer service is brilliant and very personable.
I really like that Bombfrog, I might get one on a rubber strap for my birthday in September!!!
Great review par usual interesting homage to spectacular seiko
Nice, tho the indices look a little large & logo is naff- mod it with a Seiko dial & its a winner! Cheers 👍

This look FANTASTIC on a staib shark net

This watch is just perfect for me, classic looking, 37 mm, and that oh so sweet price point
Great review as always. I note on their WEB page they also do a bronze diver. Doesn't seem to have got many reviews yet either. Would good if you can get your hands on one of these, however, only 300 are to be made.
Great review - thanks! IMHO - The red letters on the dial put me off - draws too much attention to the logo.

"I flipped the bombfrog!" LOL
I would love to see someone mod this with a seiko dial and a signed seiko crown.
Ditto
actually planning to do that. im just concerned if itll fit.
Thomas Christopher White Surely that would make it a replica?
@@drakesawesome13 Did you mod the fifty-four 62mas with the Seiko dial and signed crown?
What i really need to know is the WR? Have you tested it at 100 meters?
A University at Buffalo tee shirt? UB? 😲😲😲 Nice shout out! I went to school there. Did my Scotsman watch lover friend go there as well???
😍 I want this thing so badly...I just treated myself to a Hamilton Khaki Aviation earlier this year so need to wait a bit before I can splurge on a new acquisition
There is another brand call LTM or sharkey... can you do a comparison about that one too?
Sharky has a much better lumed ceramic bezel insert version (you my know this by now😃)
One of my favorite pieces!
Bruno F. True, in this case I find the 40mm plays better on my 6 3/4 flat wrist👌
My first taught was: ah, a Merkur on the channel. Well, I was wrong. Somehow this FiftyFour isn't my cup of tea, while i like these Seikos, and the homages as well.

Seiko Baby Turtle review soon?!
Jodi, if you really like the 62 MAS have a look at the Orient Nami. You'll love it.
62 mas is good because it's small. Orient nami is 45mm.

Very pretty watch. Just like you said, it is more good looking than the seiko's reissued one. Great video 👍.
Sure wish you would review the Sharkey Marinemaster !
Coming soon!
A super little piece Jody.. Where do you dig these gems from ??? At that price point I would be modding the F*** OUT OF THAT!!! the dimensions are right down my alley...
Bombfrog. I’d have kept that just for the silly name. Bombfrog. Oh yes.
Great Review as always
Hey mate! Your package is one the way!
Thank you appreciate it
You should do the Sharkey SKX homage now that the actual SKX is discontinued.
I quite like this one, I like it's style....I just can't wear a 38mm, too small for me otherwise I would be seriously considering it.
Almost fell out of my chair seeing that BOMBFROG watch LOL
The watch looks classy
I see a Straton SPECIALE in your winder.
Are you going to do a review on the piece?
Yes!! Tuesday next week. Cheers!
That's a mighty flat crystal.
thanks nice watch i like...
Very nice review, as always. But the Big question remains: When will the 7th book come out!
What a shame for just a little more cash they could have gone all the way with a better bezel insert and nicer lume.
A update is incoming, it will feature a all white logo plus updated lume. hopefully can see them soon.
Sharky version👍
@@pascu50i Has the update been released?
Will this lume be visible in the morning (enough to see it and read the time in a dark room) after loading the lume the night before?
When will you make a review of the San martin 62 mas ? I am actually hesitating whether to pull the trigger on that one or not.
Soon mate! It's good, I promise you.
@@JustOneMoreWatch thx I am looking forward to watching your review.
I'm all over it, like a tramp on chips. Love this watch!
Can you get your hands on a Schaffen 65 watch? Would be great! :)
The dial and branding let it down for me but great value .ps Is result of youtr20 k sub giveaway in the pipeline ,or have I missed it ?
don't kill me for this question, but does anyone think that te original seiko 62mas dial will fit in this one?
The only Invicta I would buy is their 62 mas with nh35 and no branding on the case .Looks better than this tbh for under $100 .Its very true to the original

Great review and video... Also a shout out to a fellow cyclist.
The answer to life, the universe, and everything, is Forty Two, not Fifty Four 😉
Splendid 👌
I think Orient released quite a similar watch for little less...
Mate, send me a link please!
Wow an homage already. It’s only been released for a few months lol
Harvard Ford It's a homage of the old classic one, not the one recently released
Link to fiftyfourwatch keeps failing. Even directly from internet. Great vid. Man I have too many watches but Just One More please? Cheers
try this one: www.fiftyfourshop.com ;)

Blue dial would be a lot better
But its not a Seiko.... so whats the point ?
14mm thick . I would be happier if it was thiner.
There's the awesome sbdc051
This fifty four looks like crap
You’re a 716er????
jody this video was so hard to find on your channel. please put better key words in. and on youtube.

That logo 🤢
