    We saw them in Spartanburg, SC last year. Amazing! Great show. That song means alot to me as I lost my little troubled 14 year old son 4 years ago to suicide. He laid his weary head down to end his pain, and Jesus carried him home.

    While they really could use a strong lead guitar to go with Rich Williams on rhythm when David Ragsdale is on violin, this is still Kansas. At least considering they've got harmonies, dual keyboards and violin on many songs, and write original music. They also can tour and play much more of their catalog than they could when they were touring with Steve Walsh. He was an original but his vocals were shot and there were many songs they just couldn't play with him (i.e. "People of the South Wind").

    This is not Kansas!!

    • @ben_dornie
      @ben_dornie Год назад +9

      Well let's see, the current incarnation of Kansas features 2 of the original members (Rich Williams and Phil Ehart), Billy Greer has been in the band since the 1980s and David Ragsdale has been in the band for over 20 years and counting. Kerry Livgren had a stroke (but has performed live with most of the current members), whilst Steve Walsh's voice went. By any reasonable definition, this certainly is Kansas and long may they continue!

    • @danwhite856
      @danwhite856 Год назад +3

      Say what you will no one can replace Steve Walsh on voice, personality and how active he was.
      Consequently they don’t sound the same. BTW I’m a Kansas boy that heard them in almost the very beginning, when I was in college after Vietnam

    • @ben_dornie
      @ben_dornie Год назад +2

      @@danwhite856 I presume you didn't regard Kansas as being Kansas for their Vinyl Confessions and Drastic Measures albums either? There aren't many bands which have had the same members from the beginning to the end, particularly those that existed for 50 years or more! I assume you believe that no bands are legitimate when a founder member leaves and that all bands should split up at the point of losing a founder member?

      Sorry Ben are not personal opinions allowed. Or do you just want to argue? Listened to them before you probably heard of them. I think it’s still allowed in the USA to have an opinion. Maybe not much longer but we now we still can

    • @ben_dornie
      @ben_dornie Год назад +1

      @@danwhite856 It's called a discussion. By the way, I don't think the US can claim the moral high ground on much anymore!
