I am really glad you are covering this!
Also, you asked about if anyone studied media bias regarding using Palestinians' words vs Israelis' words. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about how frequently the news interviewed and quoted Palestinians vs Israelis, but there is a 972 magazine article from 2020 title "US media talks a lot about Palestinians - just without Palestinians" By Maha Nassar that finds that from 1970 to 2019 less than 2% of the opinion pieces talking about Palestinians in the NY times and Washington Post were written by Palestinians. In a piece from 2022 title "Why the New York Times is behind the times on Israel-Palestine" she follows this up by also discussing how different talking point words from either side were used (peace vs. justice, terrorism vs. occupation, Israeli security vs palestinian freedom) and found that the Israeli talking point terms were much more frequently. There's also a Wikipedia article "Media coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" that mentions other studies about word use and bias among other things.
Thank you for everything David. It’s the biggest post-war tragedies in my opinion. I wish and hope for a peaceful solution 😢.
There is no peace without justice.
@@sparklemotion8377 of course not 😞
I appreciate your rage.
The first part is literally the classic "The CIA has investigated itself and found itself innocent". You're the goat bro keep making the great content
You should do an episode on deleuzes four writings on Palestine from the 1980s. You can find them on my page.
I know it's probably hard (especially for a subject like this) but I'd say just ignore the negative comments! don't feel like you have to address them unless they're actually substantive. most of your viewers probably didn't even know they existed until you brought it up. I didn't!
20 min in: so glad that so many people internationally have been loud about their disapproval over Israel's horrendous treatment and indiscriminate murder of the Palestinian people.
31 min: Really so glad we can see that footage and I think that has made all the difference IMO to bring so many more people to understanding the real horrors of the situation.
Not gonna nitpick but I would recommend adding Ilan Pappé to your sources just to get the historical facts a little tighter + maybe Rashid Khalidi + Avi Shlaim 👏 too
Regarding people who commented on the fact that you might be emotionally invested in the topic. And hence biased. I am a professional mathematician. I am very much invested in the fact that 2+2=4. Does that mean I cannot prove or explicate that 2+2 is indeed 4? It is all too common in the (ideological) west to have adopted the linguistic account of thought in which attitude towards a thought and a thought are conflated…..
Keep up the great work! Love to love you love you(
Loving this series! Thank you for the valuable and emotive content.
Hey David, appreciate it. You'll be passed over for doing this.
