Small tip as arcane if you are on bomb duty and your fire blast is on CD, using scorch also one-shots them and is 1 second faster to cast vs arcane blast.
i found this to be more satisfying because of the extra crits. short fights and didn't get any mana issues at all with pots+gems. i don't know if 10% dmg is effectively better but I liked the crit more in general. and I don't have to focus too much on being 70%+ mana the whole fight
There is a new Minor Elixier of Arcane power (not sure about english name). That gives +14 Spell dmg. Recipe is available for alchemy when they reach revered with the supply faction.

I ended up with +4k mana on my gnome for last raid due to our guild hopping on a raid asap when we dinged and got 10 players there so I was more geared towards dungeon/quest/rep items than green arcane wrath SP items. At that point I'd say go for Burnout since you won't be low on mana even with it and the damage is better. I would even suggest using it on a lower mana count too or else your jades, pots and evo will just stand off cooldown for about the whole raid. That's just how much mana you save with Missile Barrage procs + the buttons
@KallTorak there are now target dumbies in sod. This is thanks to the new warrior run but the target dumbs are up if a warrior isnt getting their rune at the monemt. (Shimmering flat) and my damage meter addon is tracking it.
Ahah. I was analysing my gnome logs this morning, and couldnt understand why the othe rmage had higer damage with similar Gear. I put UP your vid, see the recommanded runes and instantly realize that I never put the rune on my boots x) still 90+ed all the fights, but what a loss of dps.
@@nsknsk8374 that talent is for hit percentage, when you miss with a spell specifically in classic it doesn't say miss it says resisted, only melee or ranged attacks say miss. If a talent states reduce chance for enemies to resist by x% its hit chance, if the talent says reduce enemies resistance by x amount that is for resistance. Hope this makes sense.
I see other comments about burnout. I agree burnout is more damage. You can get unlucky with missle barrage not procing and going under 70% mana quickly into the fight. Especially if you need to use instant casts, aoe adds, or blink a mechanic. I think burnout is the better option especially with the spell power boot rune. You just can't say no to 15% crit it's too much!!
Burnout sims worse than enlightment on longer fights, and most people who are doing gnomer aren't in speed running parse guilds. For the average player enlightment performs way better than burnout right now. If you are already parsing in the 95s+ and your fights are short enough, sure burnout is better. As of right now for the majority of players enlightment is better though.
good video, though I disagree with the talents. The build you showed is optimal for raiding, and pretty much only raiding. If a player plans on doing any solo content at all, improved arc missiles is a must if you run missile barrage. You will be getting hit, and getting hit makes AM a useless spell, and in turn makes missile barrage a useless rune. So, unless you plan on only raid logging, I highly suggest you use imp AM. Imp dampen/amplify magic is 2 wasted talent points as well. I can think of maybe 2 or 3 instances where you'd actually use those spells, and its for content not even in this phase.

So enlightenment is about the 10% damage increase due to the high mana pool. Without this 10% overall it wouldn't be worth playing. In the video I often noticed that it is sometimes unavoidable to fall below it, e.g. up to stack 4 if there is no missle procc. I am still of the opinion that burnout with the crit chance hardly makes a difference. Furthermore, it's not that fun to stay above that mana all the time. I can understand it with the back boss fights, because you really don't get your mana used up there. I still need more tests in Gnome around the enlightenment / burnout issue. I will keep you up to date and inform you when the first benchmarks are achieved 😂
The fights are also no longer so long that you get mana problems at all, the missle rune alone takes care of that. In addition, the battle lengths are now getting shorter from week to week

As I responded to another, they are immune to damage. You are unable to test your DPS on them, making this useless unfortunately. Also, it's a pvp zone, so wouldn't be ideal even if it did work.
Watching the lazy fire mage in our group post double digit oom dps while I'm still basically at full mana pumping and healing in gnomer really sealed the arcane deal for me. It's just too consistent and easy. I'm never going fire lol
Those target dummies are immune to damage. You are not able to test your dps on them. Even if it worked though, would want these in capital cities, not in a pvp zone. But yeah, they are useless.
Why take imp damp magic when you can take imp counter spell it's clutch in PvP to lock someone and nuke them is life saving not sure the dapen magic is worth it even in raids

Does The improved Arcane Missles Talent not affect Missile Barrage procs or its just not worth it in raid because you are not interrupted. I am thinking more in general for PvP and when you are face tanking in PvE.
It applies to all casts, including the ones sped up by Missile Barrage. The reason you might not take it specifically for raid is because you don't frequently get spell pushback in that setting. Personally, I take 5/5 improved Arcane Missiles in place of Arcane Explosion crit and improved Amp/Dampen magic just for soloing as it doesn't impact single target damage at all.

lol Fire all the way, however, I need both gems, pots, mana scrolls, oils, lubes everything you can imagine to keep casting, not allowed to touch buttons, those are usually for healers only, hoping when others get more gear fights will be shorter and so not as much pressure to manage mana.

yes but fights usually are longer than 2 minutes...meaning if u use one assoon it doesnt over generate mana (around 90%) u get to use another one ...if u handle that well together with man pots u can stay very long in enlight 10% dmg buff

If your mana literally never drops below 70% it could lose out to enlightenment but you would probably need a higher crit than what arcane can get. 7% base, 3% talents, and 3% from gear makes 13% crit, 1x1.13×1.1= 1.243 with enlightenment at 100% uptime. 1x1.28=1.28 with burnout. Living flame is about 1600 dmg, we can even say a flat 2000 dmg after all mods and spell power. 10% of that is 200 more damage, 400 in a long fight, 800 on menagerie. My napkin math tells me burnout is better than enlightenment until you get a lot of crit.

Crit is better. I've been using it over enlightenment and I'm ranked higher than kalltorak is on wcl. Proof is in the puddin 😂

Fire is my least favorite play style by a long shot, but I can't justify going arcane while its so dominant.

I went there 30 minutes ago and it was immune to damage. Either way, having them in a pvp zone isn't ideal at all for testing things.
Oh I agree on that but seems to work for me so thought I would post my dps meter and damage is going through.
I used specificly the dummy infront of the lady holding the big shield specifically and that spot in Thousand Needles.

You can touch buttons even when bombs aren't spawning, so no reason to not hit them
