I use/have tried the whole DevaCurl line and it may be expensive sis but my hair loves the products... I started out my hair journey on DevaCurl, tried other products but I always end up back using DevaCurl... I would recommend using the B’Leave In if nothing else w/the Ultra Defining Gel, you will love it.... 😍
my texture is similar to yours and i love the ultra defining gel. it gives great definition and hold. i used it with the deva curl super cream and i also tried it with the deva curl super stretch cream and i got really good twist outs and wash and go’s
I’m worth every penny I spend on my hair. I have a Devacut, 4A hair I think, low porosity. I use Deva Decadence No Poo and Conditioner, Melt into Moisture deep conditioner, Super Creme and Ultra Defining Gel. My favorite gel is Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic.

The first time I tried the Ultra Defining Gel on my hair I had that same thought lol “it’s just like water” BUT when that dried? 🤣🤣 crunch and hold for DAYS. No exaggeration lol
Your hair came out so cute!!!! If you use it on soaking wet hair you won’t have to use nearly as much product and there will be zero crunch. I love that stuff!!! I’ve used it Atleast 5 times on wash and goes and I’ve only used like 1/4 of the bottle.
Deva Curl products work best when applied in the shower and your hair is dripping wet. You'll also need less of the product that way. Also deva curl arc angel is the best gel from the line and b’leave in. Loved the video...you're so funny
Fellow Type 4 here. Never tried the gel! Gonna add it to the stash. I use the Wash Day Wonder, Build up Buster, Melt into Moisture Deep Conditioner, Leave in Conditioner and the Coconut Elongating Cream. I like them all.

Nae I use the Deva Curl B’leave in -it’s bomb! It does magic on your curls!!! Section your hair and put it in -definitely moisturizes your hair and adds shine!
First off..I love your channel! 🙌🏾❤️ I just started using my Curls BB leave in with the super cream. Bomb combo, no white clumps. I have type 4 hair, been natural 9yrs (but I’m scissor happy) and have been using deva curl since my first BC. Currently rocking a tapered deva cut...Started off with the original one conditioner as a leave in and styler and it did great! Crazy definition..I usd too much starting out and had to find the perfect balance. It’s one of the few product lines I’ve continued to use since I went natural (and became a product junkie). Then I switched to the decadence and picked up some super cream once they dropped and would leave some of the conditioner in with the super cream for wash and gos. Haven’t found anything that defines my hair like the deva products but STILL get stuck on the learning curve. Curls BB line gives similar results but not the same. If you mix the super cream with the ultra defining gel or arc angel before application it gives it a lot of hold and the gel mixes with the BB leave in as well. Im a wash and goer 😂 so for me the crunch is easier to scrunch out when I air dry at least an hour before I diffuserIF I diffuse. Check out Mahogany Curls (YT) archive when she BC’d. She got me into DC and her vids helped me figure out how to use them best. This is long and all over but I typed it while watching..the whole 20min lol
Love your channel so much! Beautiful results! The one condition delight conditioner can be used as a leave in-just leave some in in the shower. The low poo delight is a gentle cleanser, but removes any buildup and lathers. The supercream is wonderful for moisture and definition. The arc angel gel is the strongest hold. All products are reactivated by water making wash days last over a week, just adding a little conditioner and water in a spray bottle to refresh. So you’ll actually save money using the line correctly. Less is more. You’ll never have flakes with this line. If you air dry or sit under dryer you won’t have frizz at all, even with picking-which you’ll probably want to remove the cast. No oil is needed because all the products contain oils. When I saw you take the blow dryer straight to your hair I thought frizz was going to come out, but it didn’t. In my humble opinion you used at least 2 to 3 times too much gel. But everyone knows there hair best. Your hair is very healthy! Meanwhile I’m over here using deva curl and can’t get my heat damaged ends to curl correctly because I only air dry. I’m too scared to just cut them off.
I wasnt hesitant too...the price, the coin to product ratio but it surprised me with my twist out. Plus its super watery. I need to try with for a wash and go. Love your vids❤
Hey Janae! Yes I have the same issue if I just use a leave in and a gel. I def need to use a butter or a cream as well for added moisture. Especially if I am using wetline gel.
I have 3c/4a hair and I use Super cream or Super stretch cream and Arc Angel gel mixed with the B’Leave In. Gives me a nice wash and go! I wait and buy when they, Ulta or Sephora have a sale. 😊

I love their wash day products a lot. I personally use their decadence line and their Melt Into Moisture + Deep Sea Repair masks religiously! They are amazing and have really transformed my hair. DevaCurl products have a learning curve to be honest. It took me a little while to learn how to use their products but, I’ve found that their styling products work best on dripping wet hair. I’ve never gotten flakes when I use it with other brands. I’ve used it with the Jane Carter Curl Cocktail as I said in a different comment, Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter & Curls Blueberry Bliss leave-in & Twist n Shout!

You’re hair came out really defined. I tried that gel before but I don’t think I used enough because my hair shrunk up so much and had no definition. I have type 4 hair. I have noticed recently though that my wash and gos are better when I dry them with a blow dryer. I do love the decadence milk conditioner and their hair masks the most though. I want to try the coconut stretch cream.

My hair type is similar to yours and whenever I do a wash n go and I blow dry my hair, it’s ALWAYS crunchy. When I air dry, it’s not. So I agree that it may be the blow dryer that made it crunchy
I used to like deva curl with mix chicks, but I’ve been cutting the cones. So it’s also good with the deva stretch cream. This is from a type 4. Deva can definitely be drying to the touch.
I personally use creams or curl creams and a gel for my wash n go... i like african prides cream leave in and curl cream (use separately w/ a gel), camille rose coconut water wet setter , the leave in from the line and the curl love leave in. Oh I also love cantu curling cream for a wng. Those are my fav wash n go products.
I got this gel last year and used it once. It didn’t mix well with the super stretch cream for me nor any of the other products I paired it with. By itself it left my hair too crunchy. You hair looks good.
I LOVE your videos!! Our texture is identical. Thank you for representing!! And I only use Devacurl now. I've never had hair this soft with other products. I first use the Superstrech cream, then add the Ultra Defining Gel. I hope you'll do a video on that combination!
I’m late reply but I use an Oil followed by Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen and Restore Leave-in Conditioner and the devacurl light defining gel, which I bought by accident I meant to grab the ultra defining gel; but surprisingly it still worked. Oh and you have to do it on soaking wet hair. I actually do my hair in the shower.

A leave-in conditioner I recently found out about and I'm currently loving is the Shea Moisture Manuka honey and Mafura oil leave-in milk. It's absolutely bomb and costs like $10 at target
To your question: I’ve wanted to try it, but I’m a little sticker shocked for the size of it. I’m 4Z+X 😂 so it takes a loooot of gel for my wash-n-gos. Love your results, though, dear heart.
M Spinks I have 4b hair and 4c in a couple parts of my head and to get my curls to pop in the 4c sections I noticed that staying in the shower to apply the leave in then the gel has changed the game for me. What it makes a huge difference cause the heat/steam helps the leave in get in my stands and the gel melts into the hair. Let those hot steamy showers work in your advantage!! 👌🏾👌🏾
I have 3c and 4a textures and been using Devacurl for two years now. I noticed their gels don't really mix with anything, BUT they do work well on their own. So, with that I use the Supercream on it's own and the Arc Angel with their new leave in.
I have the Deva stash but I messed up and bought the regular gel and not the Ultra...I may revisit it and try twirling my ends. I recently bought t by e super stretch...not a big fan. Great video and as always you always achieve a banging wash n go!!🖤❤
So Walmart had some of the deva curl products on clearance for 5.00, I missed them😏, I really like the Shea Moisture jbc leave in and I just started The Mane Choice 3in 1. Your curls are always popping!!
Your results are amazing! I almost want to get a devacut. 😊 Ive tried the buildup buster, deep sea repair dc, decadence leave-in, supercream and volumizing foam. Liked all except the leave-in, but im gonna give it another try with the ultra-defining gel and/or b'leave-in (after i do a mix test).

I like Deva curl super stretch cream, matcha DC, and their deep sea repair. I'm not crazy about the gel, the ultra definition one, it gives me good volume, movement, definition, but it makes my hair feel kinda dry. Also, their detangling product is really good, but very expensive.🤪 And yeah, it doesn't play well when mixed with different brands.
Aside from Mielle Organics Pomegrante Honey Leave In, the only other go to leave in for me is Jane Carter Curls To Go Untangle Me. I’m type 4 low porosity sis!
We have similar curl patterns...I love the devacurl shampoo for in-between wash days and the super stretch (I use the as I am leave-in with it). I only get about 3-4 days of definition from it though, but that doesn't bother me because I'll just put it in a bun or puff until I'm ready to style again.
I love Devacurl products their One Decadence line bomb, deep conditioners bomb. As far as styler the Curl Stretch is the best for wash n go's on my 4 A B C hair mix. I haven't tired their gels but the arc angel would be the one I would want to try because of the maximum hold

When you mixed the gel with the leave ins... First time I saw such terrible results with the mix test! Glad you had no flake though. It's only when I saw Naturalme4C use DevaCurl that I thought maybe their products can work on kinky, coily hair. But I never bought them and probably never will: it's very expensive in France and the ingredients are not that natural. For that price I'd rather buy argan or sapote oils which work really well on my hair.
Girl you are awesome, I laugh so much and get lots of useful feedback when I watch your videos. I follow Naturalme4c and she inspired me to purchase the Deva Curl products but that price is steep I was happy I got that extra bonus on my check when I made my purchase. I like the cleanser, conditioner, buildup buster and the super cream styler. I don't care for the edge control I used it in my daughters hair and didn't like that residue afterwards. But you save if you get the bundle. Will I repurchase I don't think so I can find less expensive products that do the same job.

Try the Arc Angel Gel! It’s so much better than this one 😭 this gel gave me SOOOOOOOO much crunch no matter what I use it with. The crunch never went away. We don’t have the same texture butttt I’m a DevaCurl fan so I couldn’t help but share! I love their Super Stretch cream, it’s amazing & so moisturizing! Their gels mix pretty well with other products for me. I’ve used it with the Curls Blueberry Bliss Leave-In & the Jane Carter Curls to Go Curl Cocktail and I get amazing results!
This is a very light gel and I have a similar hair texture as you so I didn't like this gel and I used it with the deva curl conditioner however I love the B leave in curl plumper!🤗
I did the mixing test with Eco Styler gel and the Eden Body Works Coconut leave-in. I got the same clumps you got and when I rinsed it out of my hands, my skin felt DRY! When trying with the Eden curling cream or Melanin Hair Care cream the results were a lot better. My thoughts is that gels pair up better with creams instead of leave ins. Hope this helps.
I haven’t had a lot of success with Deva curl products. I got no hold from that gel and very little definition, but I don’t shingle either. As far as leave ins, my favorites are TGIN Green Tea super moist, Adwoa beauty peppermint leave-in and Miche beauty Lavish leave-in, but I haven’t used any of them with deva curl gel.
We have the same curl patterned. I buy Deva Curl Decadence. At local BSS it's always 20% off. I don't use the gel...I've tried so many times. I will try again.

The Arc Angel is the maximum hold Deva Gel. The consistency is still like water and really didn’t give me the level of hold that I like. I doubled up on the Deva Gel and Eco to get a five day wash n go. Couldn’t waste the product 🤷🏽♀️

I personally use creams or curl creams and a gel for my wash n go... i like african prides cream leave in and curl cream (use separately w/ a gel), camille rose coconut water wet setter , the leave in from the line and the curl love leave in. Oh I also love cantu curling cream for a wng. Those are my fav wash n go products.
I got this gel last year and used it once. It didn’t mix well with the super stretch cream for me nor any of the other products I paired it with. By itself it left my hair too crunchy.

I LOVE your videos!! Our texture is identical. Thank you for representing!! And I only use Devacurl now. I've never had hair this soft with other products. I first use the Superstrech cream, then add the Ultra Defining Gel. I hope you'll do a video on that combination!

I’m late reply but I use an Oil followed by Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen and Restore Leave-in Conditioner and the devacurl light defining gel, which I bought by accident I meant to grab the ultra defining gel; but surprisingly it still worked. Oh and you have to do it on soaking wet hair. I actually do my hair in the shower.

A leave-in conditioner I recently found out about and I'm currently loving is the Shea Moisture Manuka honey and Mafura oil leave-in milk. It's absolutely bomb and costs like $10 at target
To your question: I’ve wanted to try it, but I’m a little sticker shocked for the size of it. I’m 4Z+X 😂 so it takes a loooot of gel for my wash-n-gos. Love your results, though, dear heart.
M Spinks I have 4b hair and 4c in a couple parts of my head and to get my curls to pop in the 4c sections I noticed that staying in the shower to apply the leave in then the gel has changed the game for me. What it makes a huge difference cause the heat/steam helps the leave in get in my stands and the gel melts into the hair. Let those hot steamy showers work in your advantage!! 👌🏾👌🏾
I have 3c and 4a textures and been using Devacurl for two years now. I noticed their gels don't really mix with anything, BUT they do work well on their own. So, with that I use the Supercream on it's own and the Arc Angel with their new leave in.
I have the Deva stash but I messed up and bought the regular gel and not the Ultra...I may revisit it and try twirling my ends. I recently bought t by e super stretch...not a big fan. Great video and as always you always achieve a banging wash n go!!🖤❤

Ive tried the buildup buster, deep sea repair dc, decadence leave-in, supercream and volumizing foam. Liked all except the leave-in, but im gonna give it another try with the ultra-defining gel and/or b'leave-in (after i do a mix test).

I like Deva curl super stretch cream, matcha DC, and their deep sea repair. I'm not crazy about the gel, the ultra definition one, it gives me good volume, movement, definition, but it makes my hair feel kinda dry. Also, their detangling product is really good, but very expensive.🤪 And yeah, it doesn't play well when mixed with different brands.

Aside from Mielle Organics Pomegrante Honey Leave In, the only other go to leave in for me is Jane Carter Curls To Go Untangle Me. I’m type 4 low porosity sis!

We have similar curl patterns...I love the devacurl shampoo for in-between wash days and the super stretch (I use the as I am leave-in with it). I only get about 3-4 days of definition from it though, but that doesn't bother me because I'll just put it in a bun or puff until I'm ready to style again.
I love Devacurl products their One Decadence line bomb, deep conditioners bomb. As far as styler the Curl Stretch is the best for wash n go's on my 4 A B C hair mix. I haven't tired their gels but the arc angel would be the one I would want to try because of the maximum hold

When you mixed the gel with the leave ins... First time I saw such terrible results with the mix test! Glad you had no flake though. It's only when I saw Naturalme4C use DevaCurl that I thought maybe their products can work on kinky, coily hair. But I never bought them and probably never will: it's very expensive in France and the ingredients are not that natural. For that price I'd rather buy argan or sapote oils which work really well on my hair.
You would love the Uncle Funky's Curly Magic gel on your hair. Deva gels are not great on 3C and above

Girl you are awesome, I laugh so much and get lots of useful feedback when I watch your videos. I follow Naturalme4c and she inspired me to purchase the Deva Curl products but that price is steep I was happy I got that extra bonus on my check when I made my purchase. I like the cleanser, conditioner, buildup buster and the super cream styler. I don't care for the edge control I used it in my daughters hair and didn't like that residue afterwards. But you save if you get the bundle. Will I repurchase I don't think so I can find less expensive products that do the same job.

Try the Arc Angel Gel! It’s so much better than this one 😭 this gel gave me SOOOOOOOO much crunch no matter what I use it with. The crunch never went away. We don’t have the same texture butttt I’m a DevaCurl fan so I couldn’t help but share!
I love their Super Stretch cream, it’s amazing & so moisturizing! Their gels mix pretty well with other products for me. I’ve used it with the Curls Blueberry Bliss Leave-In & the Jane Carter Curls to Go Curl Cocktail and I get amazing results!

This is a very light gel and I have a similar hair texture as you so I didn't like this gel and I used it with the deva curl conditioner however I love the B leave in curl plumper!🤗

I did the mixing test with Eco Styler gel and the Eden Body Works Coconut leave-in. I got the same clumps you got and when I rinsed it out of my hands, my skin felt DRY! When trying with the Eden curling cream or Melanin Hair Care cream the results were a lot better. My thoughts is that gels pair up better with creams instead of leave ins. Hope this helps.

I haven’t had a lot of success with Deva curl products. I got no hold from that gel and very little definition, but I don’t shingle either. As far as leave ins, my favorites are TGIN Green Tea super moist, Adwoa beauty peppermint leave-in and Miche beauty Lavish leave-in, but I haven’t used any of them with deva curl gel.
We have the same curl patterned. I buy Deva Curl Decadence. At local BSS it's always 20% off. I don't use the gel...I've tried so many times. I will try again.

The Arc Angel is the maximum hold Deva Gel. The consistency is still like water and really didn’t give me the level of hold that I like. I doubled up on the Deva Gel and Eco to get a five day wash n go. Couldn’t waste the product 🤷🏽♀️
