Hello lovelies. Could I use condensed milk/powdered sugar buttercream on this cake instead? If so, the recipe you gave us would be enough for this cake or I would have to double it? You girls are so talented. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm starting my cake business and you two are so inspiring!!! God bless you both.
You are so sweet, thank you Andrea :) You can use either of the recipe but you won't be able to smooth it with our Cake Cloth if you use the glossy bc...and that yields less bc also so you probably will need 3-4 batches including filling. If using our normal bc, about 2 should be ok.
Thank you Margaret. If you are based in the UK, you can buy from lots of online cake supply store or our website although we won't be able to dispatch until first week of June.
Hihi... Roughly how many drops of coloring do you use to get dark/bright buttercreams? Any tips on how to get dark colored buttercreams? Thx in advance :)
Siew Eve Lynn thought I’d help you out what you need. To do is get normal food coloring and a box of pastels one drop of light blue for pastel and two drops or three of. Normal blue
Cotton Schwabs No, we really mean 45 degree angle..just so whatever excess you scrape, it goes back to the surface of the cake and makes it more even. If the cake has a guide board underneath, 90 degree angle is perfect :)
Kitterz Guide board is the thin board under your cake that is slightly bigger than the size of your cake. The gap between the board and the cake will give a good guide for the thickness of buttercream and will stop the scraper from going all the way into the cake. :)
