Yup. Mine has been saying this for a day and a half by now if there was moisture in there it has to be gone. Ive used cool air on it for long periods of time and still. Im over it
Unfortunately non of the options have worked so planning to buy a wireless charger but the video was still super helpful. Kind of sucks this is such a huge flaw within the Samsung system. Owned Samsung devices though for 4 years and had my S10 for nearly a year and this happens. Thanks again Ricardo
Thank you saved me a lot of trouble! Last time I'm buying a Samsung anyway. Batterylife has been terrible on the S10 for me. My 4 year old S7 is still in use and is doing better than my 1 1/2 year old S10.
Thank you so much. Option 3 worked for me. My phone didn't get wet at all. Its kept safe in a case/cover so I don't know what Samsung are playing at here. Thank you so very much
@@amarisschultz8016 turn off; then press power + volume down together - plug the usb cable immediately... it works for me.. i dropped my S8 to the water for 2 seconds and make sure the usb hole is not wet, use a tissue to reconfirm the usb hole is dry..
Have been troubleshooting this for hours, finally came down to breaking off a toothpick small enough to wrap micro fiber over it and move it around a little in the charger port.. WORKED! Thank you, friend!
My phone was completely drained of the battery, so the only option left was to go with your third resolve and it worked like a charm. Can't thank you enough :) PS: My phone never got wet and wasn't remotely close to a wet surface. It was out of juice one morning and refused to charge out of the blue showing moisture detected at the port. However, Thank you, Ricardo, for coming to my save.
Thank you ! Thought I lost all the photos of my son, nothing had worked, but I tried holding all the buttons and it finally turned on and started charging after trying all day to fix it !
Good tips. Thanks for the video. For me particularly, the error went away by itself after a few hours. I shook the phone to get out any moisture, used a hairdryer on the port (set to cool air), and then plugged it back in.
Wife phone wouldn't start cause of that and now thanks to the first one, my wife's phone works now and charges. I took the charger out and the error never came back so all good! Thank you brother!
THANK YOU!!! I was about to buy a new phone. My Samsung 10+ was NOT compromised by water. I slightly changed your first step after an initial failed attempt. I turned off my phone, plugged it in while completely off, then turned it on. IT works now! Thank you for the video!
Omg! Thank you so much! I had that stupid notification on for 3+ months straight and it wouldn't go away. Not sure what step fixed it but I did most of them last night and it finally turned off and never came back on! You saved me a long trip and a lot of money that I don't have!
You just saved me a trip to the store during quarantine when I have 4 immunocompromised people in my home! I was down to 1% charge! Thank you so much! Blessings from Muckleshoot Indian Tribe
I've been having this issue on my note 9 since the first update after it was released. There is absolutely NO moisture in my phone. I live in dry a$$ SoCal and It was charging just fine. I see that the issue happens every time my phone restarts after an update or powers down from a dead battery, which is not often. My issue with these fixes is that my phone is already dead so I can't clear caches or any of the other "phone on" options. I used to be able to use the microfiber cloth with a T pin to wipe the ports on the phone and charger and it would work for a few months with no problems, but that is no longer working this time. I will go purchase a wireless charger but I must say this is downright unacceptable for a +$,1000 phone. I've been with Samsung since the S3 after leaving iPhone, but the iPhone is looking real good right now.
If you go to Iphone. You will wish that you had not. They have way more issues than this. I know some that are about to finally leave iphone. I have a note 9 also. Ive never had the problem. But, my son just awaken me with his S10e flashing this message. Which is why im on here now. Good luck.
I think this is the bug from the software update cause eversince i upgraded to android 1 my phone suddenly has this issue. Should we send it back to samsung? Just bought mine 7 months ago.
thanks so much. ive had this error forever and cleaning the charging port helped. i took a bit of a risk and used tweezers with a microfiber cloth to clean and it actually worked!
This just happened to me about 2 hours ago. I tried to do the trick with inserting the charging cable as shown in the video. No luck. Then I used the hairdryer trick. Worked perfect. Phone charging as normal now. Thanks.
Your tip of putting the charger in just as the phone turns back on worked for me first time using my wire charger..But now this method refuses to work! So I did the USB setting's... nothing. I then did the Safe Mode, still not charging! I know no way was my phone wet, however I left it near my window overnight so it had a breeze for a good 8 hours, then used a hair dryer on cool setting, just to rule it out any moisture. Plus cleaned the port with an new toothbrush to remove any dust. Iv'e plugged it into my Chrome Book using the the same usb wire and it's charging. EDIT - It WAS charging, now it's beeping saying it's detecting moisture AGAIN! what the heck is going on?
Very good video. Here is a 9th way to fix it that had worked for me (as I had real moisture due to catch a rain) I have turned off the device, and hold the charging port in my car ventilator with very hot air.. 3min.. and went back to normal...
Why does everyone say one of the solutions worked and not one has worked on mine? When things like this happen u should have the right to cancel your direct debit and send the phone back
I was able to get my Note 9 to stop the error through a different method: This method uses the power off/pin entry security prompt to clear the error from screen, terminating it and fixing the issue. I haven't tested if a pin is required for this method to work, but I believe that's what made it possible. 1. Power up phone and connect charger. keep screen locked 2. Phone should turn on and display the error. For next step, keep phone LOCKED 3. Hold power button WITHOUT unplugging charger 4. Select "Power Off." Select it again 5. When prompted to enter pin to confirm phone power down, error will stop displaying to allow pin entry 6. Do not enter pin or fully power down phone, instead back out of pin entry After you back out of the pin entry that would have powered down your phone, the moisture detection should be gone and your phone should be charging. Remember that the charging cable needs to be plugged in during the whole process. If your phone is dead to the point it can't boot then using a wireless charger to give it enough juice is the only option, as the phone will display the moisture detection error even when powered down. I also have not tested if having a pin enabled on your phone is necessary for this fix to work, but that could also be solved via temporary wireless charging. Hope this helps!
Cleaning the port worked for me, thankyou. I really wouldn't recommend charging for at leas a couple hours after it's been wet so do not try bypass it, you may damage your device
After watching several videos on youtube, nothing works to fix my galaxy note 8 .. Fortunately i found this video!!!!!! You are so smart sir..!!! Brilliant idea. I can now continue playing on my note 8 without worrying if the battery turns empty. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! It actually works! I tried the microfiber, hand sanitizer and tweezers. I also wiped the jack port. And wiped the sides of the phone. It's pretty filthy. 😅 I did it while my phone was off. I realised my phone was unusually hot. And after feeling the phone is cool for a while. Then turned it on. It's all good!
The first approach worked for me. After booting, the error still displayed instructing me to unplug the charger. But after I dismissed the message, my device began charging. As far as I am aware, my Note 10 plus had not come into contact with any moisture between charging cycles but I had riced it overnight without the issue being resolved. In my instance, after bypassing the error at boot, the problem did not return after unplugging from the charger and reinserting the charger with no additional action. Thank you. I wouldn't have guessed that bypass was available. Where did you come into the information that inserting the cable at initial boot would bypass the error?
I have a solution: I got a pencil and just used it softly on the part of the charging port that is most exposed, that part of the USB port that you can see normally. It had a little of dust in it. After i did it, it worked perfectly
Thanks for the tips, not sure which one fixed it for me but your video is very thorough. I subscribed too because your accent puts me in a good mood haha 👍
I took a safety pin or something small and sharp carefully rub it against the flat surface of the port. It's like cleaning the condensation to get a good charge.
I got myself into this, tried a lot of things, but one worked for me: turn off phone, plug into computer (it charged a bit), removed from computer, turn on and notification turned off EDIT UPDATE: After a week or so I used the same cable that fixed the problem (transfer files) and the problem came back to life. I believe micro particles of water, dont know. But tried lot of solutions, including hair dryer and nothing worked. Only, at least 48 hours later, without doing anything else, the problem was solved using the same solution stated above. Is it possible Samsung put a "minimal required time" to allow to fix it? And to make sure there is reasonable time to water to dissapear by itself?!
Thank you thank you soooo much for the rescue !!! You are a true life saver I was literally going crazy with my Samsung s23 ultra it's a such a failure for the Samsung engineers developers ;with such an expensive device we shouldn't be facing such stupid issues

I went to the Samsung forum (run by Samsung) and expressed my displeasure they actually deleted me from the forum. Unbelievable! The entire forum was littered with complaints of the moisture detection issue. This tells me Samsung is arrogant and not listening to its customers. I also had issues with the finger print unlock feature. One day it miraculously fixed itself. Bottom line is the S9+ is my last Samsung product. After messages dont put phone to charge! Dry with hair dryer, make slim hole with toilet paper carton and put hair dryer to cold, let 6 minutes or 10 minutes to dry its really works for my s10 If doesn't work like that, do factory data reset wibe catch data and dry again. Hope this will work for u
Awesome thanks for this, using isopropyl alcohol worked for me, you just have to clean both inside the charging port and whatever cable you are using very good with a microfiber cloth and wait for it to dry and then reconnect.

in case everyone has that issue, try to check if your usb charger has moisture around it. That was the case with me, port was fine but the charger had dirt/moisture. After I cleaned it phone was fine again
DO NOT use less than 95% alcohol. I only had 91 and just tried wiping it without alcohol and blowing on it a bunch and it worked, at least temporarily. But under 95 can ruin your phone, do not risk it.
I had the same problem with my s10 plus I I tryd everything on tell I went into fast charging settings I turned off fast charging and my phone worked 100%
Respect man, I tried the first 1 and it didnt work so I tried all the other steps, didnt work, so I tried the first one again and it worked, ur a fuckin life saver, I have been using a wireless charger for 5 days straight and it is slow as hell. Thanks!!!

Thanks for sharing that tip.
Really? My s10 plus have been giving me the moisture text again and again and it disappears for a while and comes back and its so annoying
