Moisture detected error happens a lot on Samsung phone charging. In most cases, it is caused by charging flex cable faulty. Hence in the first place, we replace the charging flex cable with a new one. However, the problem still exists. Then we test the motherboard and find out that the OVP IC has been faulty. We replace a new OVP IC and problem solved.

Can this be a software error or is it always hardware like charge port, cable or this chip? I'm looking at A52s.. Port and board looks pristine under the microscope and cleaned with ipa. While messing around rebooting it started charging later on... Just not sure if the error will come back.. I guess a factory reset could eliminate software error but then need to backup etc, just wondering if you know? Is there anyway to disable in hardware? I looked at a datasheet for another OVP chip though, seams probably cannot disable since no sensor, it is just detecting a lower resistance across the pins for moisture!
Also the error only occurs when the battery is dead and the phone is off, if I charge the battery from the bench and boot up without the cable in then it will charge normally until it dies and turns off again!

If there is no actual moisture the error will most likely come back and will start happening even when the battery still has charge. It's pretty poor from Samsung
I have the same issue, what was the solution?
Sometimes, my cable says USB disconnected. Sometimes, it won't use super fast charging. And after 6 months I got the dreaded moisture warning again and managed to keep restarting till it went. I had the port replaced at a tech and he said it isn't the port but maybe the motherboard.
Nobody seams to know! It's not the port! I would love to know, I have several customers ask me..@@pakanon1

Device wasn't faulty he just removed the IC and replaced it.. because s9+ devices will show error while charging if u remove wireless charging pad.. first 2 times he showed by removing the pad.. at last when he tested with pad mounted..
where could I find out the datasheets of samsung s9? I ask you that because I dont know how you know the normal values of the resistances
That's easy. We just test a normal Samsung S9's resistance and record the value.
they test another normal unit of s9. and use the reading as standard point for repairing this phone.

Cost you charge for IC repairs in general for any phone.
my cellphone is s9 scv38 after removing the rf ic why does it restart after 1 minute even though in safe download and recovery mode it never restarts, and I have reinstalled it smoothly but after entering the menu in 1 minute it restarts again

Misguided solution, you have checked without wireless charging pad earlier then later you have checked with charging pad.
How did you open your phone as a service centre suggested me that they open the phone via some sort of vacuum machine which would result is breaking my display as it has a little crack at the bottom. Please suggest some help. Thanks in advance.
Use screwdrivers, pry bar, hairdryer to open the phone.
