- The soundtrack to this video was the CD album 'La Dolce Vita (Live In Lausanne)' - now very rare. The Essence followed this with their set, and SL&G joined them on stage for the final numbers: • The Essence live gig, ... - an end of tour celebration.
Filmed live at Dolce Vita, Lausanne, Switzerland on November 26 1988. Sad Lovers & Giants are a post-punk/psychedelic rock band from Watford, England who formed in 1980. The band continue today and released a new album in 2018.
Tracklist of the CD follows; not sure if it's exactly the same order as this video:

Most criminally underrated band from 80's along with Chameleons , And Also The Trees and some others...
if only Garel Funk and Pollard had not disintegrated.

It is criminal. They were a little late to the party, but by far the best. Casualty of a broke record company. Slag was awesome.

Saw Them on the 13th of may this year in Rotterdam, at a little venue for about 100 people. Great concert from a band i loved since Epic garden music!!!

Clé, Colourless Dream and Lost in a Moment are among the very very best post-punk / new wave / blabla records ever made. It's a shame that they are not superstars.

Hola Kurt, el guitarrista en este video es Tony McGuinness, no es Simon Blanchard (Tristan Garel Funk), estoy de acuerdo que Tristan es un gran guitarrista e hizo un gran trabajo en los dos primeros álbumes de SLAG, pero debo reconocer que a mi gusto Tony supo llevar la sonoridad de los SLAG a un punto más Neoromántico y Dulce, no tan oscuro, rock o punk como Tristan, también apuntar que la mayoría de guitarristas ingleses de inicios de los 80 en adelante, eran auténticos maestros del Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger etc....Un saludo.

@nothinglastsforever7892 - Hi, yes, it's The Essence (as it says in the text overlay). Nice guitar tones there! They were a Dutch band from Rotterdam who issued 5 albums. I just checked, and I do have a video to upload; so I'll do that soon. They must have supported Sad Lovers, as it's from the same night.

AND ... I just checked The Essence video. There's a couple of numbers at the end where Sad Lovers & Giants join them onstage to collaborate on each others songs! It's the last night of 10 on the road together, and they're having a bit of a party. Looks like SL&G went on before them. Will upload when I can; not sure if I have time before Xmas but we'll see.

The caption says it's The Essence. Maybe they were supporting, as it gives the same date. But there's only a couple of minutes of brooding intro before it cuts off.

SLAG is the best worst live band. They are so skilled and precise there is hardly a difference to the studio recordings. So, if you want to hear the songs you love exactly how you remember, you are in luck. And if you want to hear something fresh and different, you will be bored out of your mind.
