ahhh, Happy Belated Pride! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 🫶🏼. I don't think the iMac will be able to be used as a monitor with gaming consoles unfortunately. I've researched this before and did not come up with anything. I too am a sucker for apple screen colors, which is why I go outta my way to use them
Too much orange, so much that I forgot to listen and was distracted by the orange. There are orange objects, so that's fine, but there'e even an orange tint to the whole video. Excessive.
I set up a Mac Studio and Studio Display with the HD60 X and a Nintendo Switch. This is what I learned. 1) this video is incorrect to tell us to connect the HD60 X via its HDMI OUT to the Studio Display. The Studio Display connects to the Mac via a Thunderbolt cable. The HD60 X connects to the Mac via USB-C data cable (a charging cable might not work). Since the Studio Display has an integrated USB-C hub you could use one of those ports or one on the Mac. 2) Elgato’s 4KCU software does not support the Mac. They only have a very simple utility called Capture Device Utility that configures a couple of settings in the HD60 X hardware. To use the HD60 X you need to use third party software. QuickTime comes as part of MacOS and that works. Another option is OBS Studio. 3) The setup “works” but there is noticeable lag on the computer display that makes the experience unusable as a gaming setup. If you want to play you’ll really need another monitor with a HDMI port and it would connect to the HDMI OUT (lag free pass through) on the HD60 X.
How noticeable is the lag? The capture card looks like the prefect solution and I was going to but it but I'm worried about the lag... Some people said there's no lag at all and some said there's noticeable lag. Is it noticeable? Have you tried reducing the lag by capping the quality to 1080p? You think maybe the HDMI to Type-C conversion is causing the lag? Have you tried connecting it to the HDMI port of the Mac instead? (if yours has one)

@@ryancruisex HDMI from PS5>ELGATO HDMI IN. ELGATO USB-C>USB-C Directly into the Back of Apple Studio Display. That's it. maybe you need to buy a USB-C to USB-C cable?
@ did you use the apple studio usb-c straight to it or an additional one
@@ryancruisex I can't remember exactly what USB-C to USB-C Cable I used as I have many. Basically it plugs from the ELGato straight into the back of the Studio Display. My Scarlett Audio Interface is also plugged into the back of the Studio Display via USB-C.
Awesome video
Editing this comment to let people know that this is not ideal for competitive style games such as call of duty. I tried every method and could not get ultra low latency and any graphics above 1080p. I got low latency with 720p and high latency with 1080p. It was literally unplayable. Get a smart TV or monitor with 120 refresh rate. Don’t waste your time with these “hacks” until Apple sells us a solution. Until then it’s null and void
3D club if you want to connect it to console and display (no computer needed but no sound)
Elgato will need computer and has included hdmi cord. So you’ll be fine if you have Mac studio
I have a J5create cable, will that work?
no idea, test and let us know@@ryandevera8782
Great video! Thanks for the info. But please please please stop upward inflecting at the end of every sentence. After 30 seconds it becomes really hard to listen to 😬. Hope this is helpful for future videos!
my partner tells me that weekly, dont think theres a fix.
@@JaimeJMarrero I believe in you! I’m an actor, so I have definitely personally gone through training where I’ve learned to recognize my voice patterns, and learned to change them depending on what the situation called for. Whether it be a play on stage, or a commercial on TV. It may take some time and work, but it’s possible if you want to be more in command of your voice. But if you don’t want to, more power to you. Just letting you know my 2 cents as a random viewer. Really appreciate the content though :)
@@JaimeJMarrero it’s always practice 😅
The audacity of you to suggest he speak differently for your satisfaction. Wow
Kinda itching to get into streaming - what ya’ll think? 🎮
Do that shit
All I get is a black screen with the elgato.
Watch again and adjust settings
Hi Jaime! so glad to have found your content, it's so informative and helpful, thank you! I have the 2019 iMac, and am also a sucker for the display! 😆 Really hoping the 3D Cable will allow me to play my Switch with my display. Do you know if the 3D cable is compatible with older Mac models like mine? Thanks in advance!
P.S. Happy Belated Pride Month, omw to watch your apple watch videos, love the idea of the pride strap customisation, didn't know it was available!!!!🥰🏳🌈
ahhh, Happy Belated Pride!
Excessive.
Clearly the first time here 🤣🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 more orange for you
Fair enough, young Skywalker, but you should come over to the green side.
Only talk , no video footage or gameplay
It’s a how to, not a watch me play
I’m not reading all that but this was for the Studio Display, never mentioned a Mac.
I'm using a PC, works fine for me
@@JaimeJMarrero Would you say there's no noticeable lag at 4k60fps? Is it comparable to Remote Play's lag?
Good try... but very inefficient.
you have 2 holes
I do 🤭
