- Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1979, Trouble were one of the better bands that found a way to mix doom and psychedelic rock to create their sound. One of the early bands signed to Metal Blade Records and appeared on several compilations as well. The band's first two albums were characterized by their Sabbath influenced heavy guitars and Christian lyrics (which the band would later state were written more as a reaction to the rising tide of satanic metal bands in the early '80s as opposed to an attempt at being another band like Stryper) and are considered classics in many doom metal quarters. This song was the title track to their 1984 album . There were pressings of the album also that just showed the band name. One of my favorites.
R.I.P. Eric Wagner, singer of Chicago doom legends Trouble and The Skull, has died at the age of 62.
The frontman’s passing was confirmed in a post on Facebook by his son Luke this morning (August 23), after he was admitted to hospital with COVID pneumonia last week.
Eric fronted Trouble for seven albums including the masterful Psalm Nine (1984), The Skull (1985) and Manic Frustration (1992), as well as playing in post-Trouble outfit The Skull, and doing albums with Blackfinger and Lid.
They rocked what an awesome doom metal band

In 1984 your metal band was usually part of the growing thrash movement or part of the growing hair band movement. These guys were wonderfully out of step with the times. What a great sound!
Even helped start a musical movement in metal even if there wasn’t a doom metal scene

You can’t define satan because you aren’t the original source of his existence . Only the Bible can . Something as simple as profanity is inherently satanic 👍

@@taxirob2248 The fact that you've never met anyone who has heard of them does not mean that the band isn't well known. I've met like 2 guys who listen to Candlemass. By that logic i should consider Candlemass an underrated band. Troube is highly respected and known amongst people who listen to Doom Metal. Outside of the genre, not so much

I first heard Trouble on college radio back in 1984 my Jr year.I got to see them twice last time was 2005 brave words and bloody knuckles festival here in Cleveland. Great band back then they were thought to be a Christian band.

Well, they made them because they were a lot of satanic bands, so, even of they were not really religous, they still made God's work by making lirycs to oposse the satanic ones the other bands made
