Eric Wagner somehow manages to combine the appearance and something of the vocal style of Robert Plant with something of the religious and political tone and style of frontmanship of Bono, yet manages to rock harder than either. How is that fair to us mere mortals? Ah well, let's just sit back and enjoy the song...
Grossly underrated. And shockingly unknown. Blows my mind more people don't know of this band. A fan since I was 15. Imo, one of the greatest bands of the 80's. Still one of my tops! Early 80's I grew up down in the The keys. Was a Total stoner. Crazy loud systemic my bf's car. Ride and burn. I Loved this heavy, dark, doom, metal sound. Melt into the seat just get lost in the noise, the mind numbing metal noise. Just rock out to every song on the album. My metal therapy. Total attitude adjust. They f'ing rock!! This band got me through my most successful years of my life ,as a Fortune 500 mid management through owner of 2 successful used car dealerships ,from q989 to 2002,my radio station in Buffalo NY always mentioned us b4 a trouble song ,bc we advertised with them ,and we paid tribute to TROYBLE ,our favorite band ,even now they get played at high volume at ho.e 2 times a week. Doom Metal is the oldest subgenre of heavy metal, and it became the blueprint for Gothic Metal. Trouble was the blue print for Goth Metal lyrically. R.I.P. is a song I didn't get to hear when it originally came out but hearing my friend Ron Holzner play here -- it's an amazing fucking track. There's pre-1990 Trouble and Post-1990 Trouble

C'mon, I share the dedication to TROUBLE, and i think i understand where you got that ''gothic'' impression from, but, trying to find common ground for everyone to dig this super group of talented musicians, I'd be simply happy with the Doom tag, even though Trouble are more than that ( apart from the obvious Sabbath filiation there are even shades of Frank Marino's Mahogany Rush guitars in T. , so...). One of the best vocalists to EVER belch a metal note!!! 🎵 When I heard of his passing I sincerely became sad. Truly sad. Almost to tears. I grew up with his voice and Trouble's music...broke my heart man.

In fact it fits in with the genre (see Master Of Reality album). heavy metal is the classical music of rocknroll. its great no matter the content if the music is good, and this is essential stuff. i dont care if beethoven liked his Christ and i dont care of Trouble do, or just the singer, or whatever. As long as theyre making art, not recruiting. Theres a difference. Trouble slays.
Stryper didn't have heavy promotion, and if I can remember correctly, people threw Bibles back at them when they played. I think what made Stryper famous was their anti-metal conformity that even metal enthusiats would just "have" to listen to. Also, if you read my post, I said they "flew under the radar." That goes with publicity/promotion. No one cared to promote Trouble. Another example is Bride: Didn't have promotion at all at first, but they hit big up until "Kinetic Faith."
