Could you tell the differences with the old weebill lab ? I mean both are good for traveling, M3 seems to be smaller but i’m not sure about the functionality. They are about the same payload right? Same performance?
You are the first Crane M3 tester, who tells the problem with these short arms- - My combination (Sony 6400 and Tamron 1120) is the maximum that can just be balanced without hitting the camera and hitting the arms. The cons: - the supplied cables do not work and are too short - changing settings (aperture, iso etc.) via the control dial is not possible with Sony - photo shooting (camera is in auto mode, other photo programmes also tested) does not work with - Panorama, timelapse via the app. The gimbal moves through the waypoints, but no photos are triggered. - Only handy if you move all arms back to the original position. I tested everything with the latest firmware 1.72. It is possible with the Weebill S and DJI Ronin.
Hi. Excellent video. Thank you. The wireless control module you reference at about the 15:00 mark: have you heard anything more about it? I can't find mention of it anywhere else. I'm mad that the M3 doesn't have the same wireless compatibility as the M2 unless I get the Pro kit with the expansion base, which costs $300 more than the Standard M3 kit. In fact, I'm ready to return or resell the M3 and go back to the M2 for use with my Sony RX100 VII. But, if this little module-dongle-thingy is for sale soon, I'll wait and see if that addresses my concerns about the M3's lack of wireless functionality.

I"m finding mostly fanboy videos on "mobile gimbals" do not do a good job on answering this and am wondering about the M3 seeing as it isn't intended for phones. 3) Lastly, I "think" I'm hoping to do pro-style newsgathering and want a gimbal that'll accommodate that and it's a little heavier a setup than a typical "mobile" (phone gimbal). Yes, Se got every info delivered right. We're releasing a separate universal plate for all cameras (one that can help you set up the gimbal even faster) in addition to the standard one that comes with the package, coming out end of this month to early Dec as a separate accessory
it hold sony a7R3 with 28-75mm tamron :) i tested it at 75 no problem :) and they add software for timelaspse etc :) (and you can control via bluetooth all on gimbal)
Hey Will, Crane 2 is much bigger as you probably know. For Crane M3 ZV series will be good with the 405 gram 16 mm. If you pair that wit A7 IV when that comes out will be too heavy for M3 cradle space.
Unfortunately not for those two cameras. It will have enough motor power to hold the 17-28mm, but it will rub against the back motor. The lenses that will work with those two cameras would be the Sony 28mm F2 and 55mm F1.8.

Hi Katherine, yes. You can jump to any of the parameter right from the screen. So~ much easier that the old non touch menu system. The Sony A7C is a good match for the size. I tried testing different mics for this gimbal. Seems like only mic that works so far are XLR mics. You can put your cold shoe in one of those, but this microphone input is only available with the Pro kit.
very informative video! still waiting to see a balancing review using the FX3, assuming it would be similar to the A7C...clearance issue would be gone.
Now that would be an interesting combo. Since FX3 is little bigger and heavier than A7C, the lenses you can use will be limited. 24mm GM or Tamron 28-75 would be too heavy for it to clear the back motor.
@@SePark true, I used FX3 with those Samyang 2.8 lenses on the M2, with the bigger arms on M3 I would be happy with just the 1728. Also the M3 have a better vertical mode where you attach the tripod to the side 1/4'' screw so you can hold it vertically instead of the awkward torch position...
Hey mate. I forgot to ask in my last comment: I think I am going to buy this, but I’d like to know if it has the capability to do automatic track and pan (not just for time lapse). Thanks in advance, Jay.
@@StarWarsJay I just went ahead and updated to the latest firmware and apps. So far there is no interface for that. Crane M2 had two choices when you launched the app: phone mode or camera mode. Thanks Miguel! Nice! You're about to feel the quality difference soon then. Knowing the cons and getting one is the perfect decision. No gimbal is perfect. :)
I have a cage A73 and a cage A7C, lens: tamron 28-75, 24 GM and 85 1.8. I also have the weebill s, however i always leave it when going to travel because of the size.
@@AlfaMedtech oooo, yeh that a7c cage may cause your camera eye piece to hit the back motor because of the added weight ratio. I can’t tell for 100% but most likely. You could take the cage off to try. Haha Weebill S is fairly small. You must be going to some special places for travel 😄🤙
@@AlfaMedtech haha that is a lot, but sounds like a fun day of filming. Yes Crane M3 is much smaller in volume. Maybe even allow you to pack one less small LED light, but it will come at the sacrifice of possibly having no cage, little less stable, and or using smaller lenses. I know, pretty tough decision already with Weebill S.
No ZOOM function via the Adjustment Wheel. The manual states that it will be available in a later upgrade. This is a great disappointment!!! You can only control the camera via USB cable (no Bluetooth as with the M2). The only camera control with my Sony ZV-1 that I could use was recording. Such a failure for a blogging gimbal!! At least with the Crane M2 you could control the zoom of the camera. This Zhiyun product had failures too! It would cause the Sony ZV-1's screen to darken so much that you couldn't view it in the sun! I feel that the Crane-M3 is a downgrade to the Crane-M2 in basic functionality. An incorporated LED light is nice, but you need to be able to control the camera's zoom!!!!
Good ear. I noticed too. It’s much deeper sounding if I put my mouth right on it. Sennheiser MKE 600 tho is a really good mic that isolates voice really well.
Battery powered LEDs do not flicker at all even the cheapest ones. Poor quality LED lights flicker because they are powered by the mains AC power and it has a pulse of 50 or 60 Hz depending on where you live, and its not the quality of the LED themselves but the driver electronics that gives juice to them.
Make sure to watch until the end. Who saw the ending? 😁

@@SePark it is big when you have a full mavic air 2 with 3 batteries and a controller, GoPro with all its accessories inside a bag already lol.
If you don’t want the bag can I have it lol. I didn’t get the upgraded version. I got the standard version.
so good :D
Haha thanks brother!
5th element hell ya
how about a7s3 with 24-105G?
That’s going to be too heavy. That’s more in the Weebill S and Weebill 2 territory. 😁
The mic sound like the eq curve isnt good it sounds like tin
Good ear. I noticed too. It’s much deeper sounding if I put my mouth right on it. Sennheiser MKE 600 tho is a really good mic that isolates voice really well.
I actually exchanged the M2 for the M3...it's WAY better even for an APS-C body like the ZV-E10 I'm running.
Seeing it’s a small gimbal does it have a-lot of micro jitters walking
@@pastafazoule The M2 did. The M3 doesn't. Not as much, anyway.
This dang gimbal made me wish I got the white zve10
Haha me too Chris! So I didn't have to spend hours trying to wrap my camera with a white wallpaper... 😂
Fifth Element Reference LOL
Right on Carl! 😄🤜
It would be cool if the microphone was wireless
My thought too 😄 Don’t think it’s not possible yet. These gimbals just keep getting more advanced.
Aziz light!
You are cool! 😄😄👍🤙
good!!!! ^_^
Aziz light!!!! :-D
Haha thank you Jay! You green! In the words of Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker): super green! 🤙👍
So like annoying like.
Park? Are you korean/?
You would be right😄👍 Yes
Zhiyun have gone backwards since the Weebil S. I feel sorry for them as they obviously are trying to innovate.
I think M3 is a combination of M2 body and WBS motors LOL
Haha I didn’t even recognize it when I opened it. It’s a beautiful gimbal!
It is also 120 $ more expensive than the Crane M2
They definitely up the materials. You have to feel it. It feels about $120 more expensive 😆
@@SePark I'll stick with my Crane M2 :-)
Please donate me your back pack if you not used it thank you
All the Paid You Tubers are promoting this Gimbal ..
