    First !... the gap between china and euros is closing but this win is incredible for young Alexi !! love that it was not celebrated on edge ball but with is hands up saying sorry right away.. and then the yell after the hand shake.. that come back last game 3-7 is just amazing against FZD !!

    Magnifique. Quoi qu'il arrive désormais par suite dans la toute jeune carrière d'Alexis (et on lui souhaite le meilleur) il aura toujours le mérite d'avoir battu le champion du monde en titre, N°1 mondial et vice-champion olympique (pour ne citer que cela dans l'immense palmarès de FZD). Si il bat Ma Long demain il aura aussi battu un double champion olympique (en titre). Alexis doit avoir l'ambition de remporter ce type de titre un jour.

    Incroyable la manière dont il a su faire déjouer son adversaire, énorme variation au service, il n'a pas hésité à faire des remises longues hautes, mortes qui surprennent. C'est ce qu'il faut pour enrayer la machine chinoise !! des balles surprenantes et imprévisibles qui sortent des standards.
    Il a tout compris et impose son style, je pense que c'est la seule manière de les inquiéter.
    Bravo à lui, il faut en avoir dans le pantalon pour s'imposer comme il l'a fait contre le terrible FZD et en plus sur son terrain avec son public. Prochaine étape Ma Long, je lui souhaite autant de réussite et son jeu risque d'être fort étudier pour demain.
    Dans le football les adversaires mettent en place des stratégies anti M'Bappe, maintenant on va avoir les stratégies anti Lebrun ! c'est génial j'espère qu'il ira le plus loin possible et qu'il hissera le tennis de table français au plus haut

      C'est hallucinant le nombre de services gagnants remportés par les Lebrun (et Félix encore plus j'ai l'impression). A un tel niveau de compétition, c'est rare.

      Chinese players are less creative but so much more consistent. That's why I'm still not certain that players like Alexis Lebrun or Truls Moregard will regularly beat the chinese in the future. Their playstyle make impressive upsets easier but consistent winning harder.

      @@thomaslequesne5475 you're right . I don't think anyone expect Alexis to dominate table tennis like a top Chinese player would . China is so far ahead in every aspect of the game ( training , financial means , expertise ect ) , it's probably impossible . We, as Europeans fans, do expect one upset or two in a WCTT or in the Olympics , who knows if it will ever happen though but the Lebrun brothers , unlike many Europeans , won't be satisfied until they make it happen

      Pas beaucoup de faiblesse chez Alexis effectivement. Peu être un peu d'inconstance, lié a sa jeunesse et aussi du fait de son jeu assez à risque et en variation permanente. Très hâte de voir son évolution, et celle de son frangin!

      Exactement! Les français sont très créatifs dans leur style de jeu. Ce n'est pas suffisant pour battre les chinois mais couplé à un excellent niveau de jeu dans le jeu classique, Alexis fait des ravages sur le circuit mondial.

    Incredible tournament from Alexis, so close against Ma Long as well! It feels like something is happening in the table tennis world right now! The young european generation is insanely good!     I don't watch a lot of ping pong but I've seen a fair amount of highlight games from the top players and one thing that I feel Lebrun has that is "unique" is his unpredictability and mind games. It's a delight to watch his decisions and play making unfold. Very well deserved !

      That might not put him directly in top 10 or #1, but i hope this can build his confidence for another future tournaments, so he doesn't give up, China won't stay silent about this, they will respond, but hopefully that players such as Lebruns or Truls or Harimoto or LYJ/LJH don't just give up later after few years, look at female side, Mima Ito is like incredible beautiful playing style player but she always lost to Chinese no matter where and when, if there are no Chinese then probably she will have a nice breaking records maybe, and i can feel she will retire without big record in her life because of Chinese players.

    Great win by Alexis, it all started with the final set when Fan led 7-3, then two unforced errors even the score and gave the momentum back to Alexis. Still congrats to the young Frenchman and the greatest win in his career so far.

      sometimes, mistakes are a result of variations in spin and speed, which messes your timing. Not saying that FZD didn't read them well, maybe he wasn't completely focused, it's hard to be 100% all the time, but you're right, Alexis has grown a lot and he's actually a threat to anyone.

      @@beaudoinolivier2972 oui enfin ne reve pas trop alexis peux battre n'importe qui mais il doit etre dans un bon jour pour les battre, il a un des jeu les plus risqué , pour gagner un tournoi tu doit faire beaucoup de match comme ca sur plusieur jour, il n'a jamais encore jamais gagné un tournoi je crois , finale plusieur demi et quart mais je crois pas qu'il ai gagné une seul fois mais il peux le faire
