@@tozozhen6322 actually 6th: Felix lost to his elder brother in the U19 French Junior Nationals finals in 2021, then in the semis of the French Nationals in 2022

Last time Felix was crying after lost to his big brother Alexis, so looks like Alexis took it little easy on this game… great game! & congratulations to Felix ❤️
Do you really think a person as competitive as Alexis Lebrun when he is playing think about that. What experience of high level sport do you have to think like that ?
@@cyborzh So you read one comment from me and you decide French overall never aim at the number 1 position. How smart. Anyway not reaching WR1 doesn't mean not clinching titles including world championship for example. WR1 rewards a (very) high level of regularity in contenders/champions whatever but doesn't necessarily mean clinching a world title. See the difference? Finally I don't represent the Lebrun's brothers and we know they have a very strong mindset and high ambition. My opinion won't impact their career and prevent them from great things happening contrary to what you said in your last sentence.
Today I already saw a TT action movie. Maybe in the near future the Lebrun brothers will be ranked No. 1 and No. 2 by ITTF. Will someday in the future twin TT players rank 1st and 2nd in the world?
Félix a réussi à battre un Alexis surpuissant suite à son titre récent. Il a encore progressé et franchi une marche vers le podium du classement général.
been a while since the last No 1 with penhold grip... I'd say its main advantages are in the short game, speed (but not power), and serving potential. Since he is only holding the bat with 2 fingers most of the time, it is a lot more difficult to transfer impact in the same way as you would with a standard grip, meaning away from the table shots will be more difficult, but there is arguably an advantage when close to the table as it allows much greater wrist mobility. Couple that with top notch physical conditioning (and everything else ofc), and you can achieve this kind of playstyle. You should also look up Xu Xin, very different penhold grip style. First of all, left handed, but also very forehand centric game with (somehow!) an insane amount of quality, power and spin leveraging the entire body in a different way than Felix does. Very spectacular gameplay Felix is very backhand centric, which is an oddity within table tennis I believe Edit: oddity as a penhold grip user of course !
@@JenAiMarreDeSaucisse Thanks for the concise reply. My next question would be isn't it a bit of a risk deciding to use that grip when its success rate in the top echelons is very limited.
@@tascolino538 yes it may have been, however he could not have been aware of it at the time ! Felix chose that grip when he was a young child. Basically he just thought it was cool and rolled with it

Also, I think Felix played his best match of his career (Alexis is top 16 but has the level of a top 5 today)
Sorry but that’s not what xu xin said, he said Alexis has no weaknesses not that he has more talent than his brother. So he is like calderano, in his peak he can beat almost anyone but he needs to focus on his mindset to overcome resilient issues
@@financialliberty2381I apolilogize on that one, what a semi-final from Felix! After his losse against Duda in the european championship, I was not expecting such a high level
1:50 I don't think we should be too strict about throwing angles. But Starting the throw over the middle, and hitting the ball at the corner is too much! That's not just a normal human error, this is trained behavior and should be fixed by Alexis.
The result of the match doesn't reflect the flow of the game at all. Alexis missed two easy kill points in the third set after leading 6-2. Finally, Félix took a timeout on his set point 15-14 and won the set. At 9-9 in the fourth set, Alexis missed an easy shot that could have given him a set point or tied it at 10-10. In the end, he lost the match. Honestly, Alexis was playing evenly and even had the upper hand at times. If he lost, he only has himself to blame, as it could have gone either way. Unfortunately, Félix will lose 3-0 against Lin tomorrow.
Finally a correct opinion. Alexis still has the edge over Felix imo. They’re brothers, they played a million times probably it was just a manner of time before Felix beat his older brother in an official game but i don’t think it means anything. Alexis is stronger against Chinese players too.
