  • Metallica perform the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic "Tuesday's Gone" with a host of guests including Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington, Down and former Corrosion of Conformity member Pepper Keenan, Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell, and former Faith No More guitarist Jim "Fatso" Martin, as well as Soul Rebels on horns. Lynyrd Skynyrd originally recorded the song for their 1973 album "(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)". This version was recorded live @ The Fillmore in San Francisco, California on December 9th, 2011 (the third of four Metallica 30th birthday concerts).

How do you not put Gary Rossington front and center, that guy is the epitome of a Rock Star and was touring while the rest of them were still in grade school.Gary toured the world and played literally thousands of gigs, now he's reunited with his bandmates after keeping their memory alive so many years. R.I.P. Gary Rossington, the last of the Street Survivors......

Actually Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins wrote this song, and at the time you posted this 7 years ago in 2011 Ed King and Bob Burns were still alive. You can also add Rickey Medlocke, Larry Junstrom , Greg T. Walker and Atrimus Pyle as "original" members of Skynyrd who all recorded songs with the classic lineup of Ronnie, Gary, Allen, Leon, Billy and Bob, Rickey, Artimus and Greg T are still alive today "2020".

Also the intro riff sounds amazing and then it tails of and the sound is suddenly very trebbly and tinny. From that point all the vocal mikes sound dreadful.

I never really cared much for Metallica, and yes Gary Rossington should have been acknowledged for his contribution to rock n roll.

One of those weird, crappy cameras that the audio goes lower when the music starts playing.

Ironically it happens with better cameras :p since its actually interpreting all the frequencies (especially bass) you get a compression pumping effect from all the clipping

Damn. Almost had the original lineup. Les on Banjo would've made it outstanding.

Growing up and living in Hayward, I used to run into Jim Martin from time to time. All I can say is wow. Time has changed. I wouldn't recognize him from the way he looks now. Loving these videos. Anyone know if Metallica filmed these shows themselves?
