I don't know wtf is wrong with the male hosts on this show suggesting that elderly women without kids don't deserve long life and respect like everyone else. Honestly, think before you speak! This is one of the reasons why childfree women's movement is as big as it is now- many of you only see women as child birthing machines without any other purpose in life.
Girls have been told for decades that getting pregnant is the worst thing they can do. Boys have been told that getting married or making a commitment is akin to living hell. Add to that the impossibility of getting a secure home, and you get fewer babies.
Getting pregnant IS the worst thing. There's far more to life than being a wife and mother

You say there's more to life than being a parent - so what is that? I would say the opposite: whatever else you want from life, the ultimate goal must be to produce and raise offspring. Why else would we be prepared to lay down our own lives to save two children or young siblings, or eight young cousins?

Becoming a father made my son a better person. It's lovely to see an involved father.
It bogles my mind that the govermnets response is to offer childcare from 6 months. We know staying with parents is better for the child. Why would you have a kid if your primary motivation is to give it up?
The government wants women back in work so it can have an extra wage-slave, which is good for the almighty GDP, and so it can weaken the bond between mother and child and indoctrinate the child as young as possible.

The British and American Ruling Classes will never permit most workers to earn a living wage that can sustain a family on one income. Its a nonstarter for them. So in the vast majority of families, both parents must work.
The effect of pornography on men is definitely that it makes men less likely to care about pursuing women. Why pursue sex when you can get that rush from porn? You can fill the social void with your other single male friends and you can try to compensate for intimacy by escaping into various forms of entertainment to distract you from your lonliness.

The biggest threat to men is feminism girls are told they don't need men, hook up culture, false allegations, and the divorce courts as half of marriages end in divorce. divorce.
So some young men probably end up watching porn.
But at the same time, online dating has increasingly concentrated women's attention on maybe 15 -20% of men. If you see the data, you will see that the vast majority of men get nothing whilst a very small percentage get a lot of options (which encourages bad behaviour on their part) just see the latest bumble height data 6'5 meets 90% of women's filter requirements which drops to 15% for men that are 5'9 (the average male height)....
@@winterskiU All very true statistics. From anecdotal knowledge, I find that all of the tall guys I know have had success on these apps. Shorter guys are overall less successful on the apps, but I know a fair few who got successful by talking to women in real life.
I think the issue is its easy to put up superficial standards in a superficial environment, but in the real world people may drop those standards for other qualities if they get to know someone first.
My concern with dating apps is that many men wont approach, and many women dont want to be approached in public now because theyd rather only select dates using the app and dismiss cold approach as socially unacceptable.

I can relate to so many aspects of this conversation. Until I was about 30, I was a progressive, didn't want marriage or kids, and I had bought into the ideas of the sexual revolution hook line and sinker. I was raised in a culture that told women we could have it all, and yet motherhood was never celebrated or promoted, it was all about getting a career and staying independent. For most of my 20s I was desperately unhappy and didn't know why. Looking back, casual dating and hookup culture was an incredibly toxic influence on me and many of my friends, but we couldn't see it at the time. Thankfully I started to see the world differently around age 30 and I realised how wrong I was. I'm now in a committed relationship and we have a young son, and we can't wait to have more children. Even though life is harder in many ways, it's unbelievably more fulfilling and meaningful than my 20s. I only regret that I didn't have this realisation when I was younger, as I could've saved myself years of heartache, depression, and lack of direction.
About forty years ago, as a young teacher, I remember speaking to one of the 'old lags' at the school. He observed "In the 1960s, with the sexual revolution, I thought that parents will have to be really strict with their kids, if they are going to allow themselves so much licence to do as they please. It never occurred to me that simply neglecting them was an option."
That was well over a generation ago. I despair.

Having children is not a rational matter, it is a matter of vigour and life-force. You only have to look around to see which communities have that vigour and see that they are the ones having children. White British have had the life force drained out of them over decades. That is very clear to see. There is no vigour left amongst many of the White and East Asian populations. I am not White myself and I find that incredibly sad. I can literally see the difference in energy and enthusiasm displayed by my White English friends and friends of other ethnicities. The English seem to be worryingly ' bored ' of living. An entire ethnicity just spreading its ass in the air in the hopes that coming onslaught will be less painful if they just surrender. It gives me a terribly heavy feeling in my chest. It is an intensely depressing feeling.
I try to cheer up my English friends. I try to make them feel proud of their country, her culture and her people. But it doesn't seem to work. I feel like crying.

Amazing! One of the reasons why birthrates are falling is that people are working their backsides off to either buy, maintain a mortgage and pay the bills on their homes. Or they are stuck living with their parents and there is no room to start a family. Or they struggling to pay ever higher rents.
You need to get out into the real world and experience life first hand instead talking amongst yourselves and living in a cosy, cossetted bubble.

@@cordfortina9073A lot of people are in higher education in their late teens/early twenties. They don't have the money for a wedding, don't have the money for their own house, and don't want to risk pregnancy and having to drop out of school.
I would suggest that it's you in the bubble. I have four children and my wife has never had to work since having our first child. We bought an ex council house in the Midlands of the UK. Very much affordable morgage at less than £500 a month.

I'm an American and observing from afar I grieve the fact that Brits don't have the option to vote for a patriotic party as they did in the latter 20th century.
Regarding children I think a lot of millenials/Gen Z have seen their parents struggle, go through divorce, broken families, no time for themselves and stressed out, it doesn't look appealing. Now add on technology that allows us to focus on ourselves more and you can see why a lot may not want children.
The lack of housing and not being able to afford to get on the property ladder are also other reasons, also as marriages are very dispensable these days along with men getting shafted, men end up checking out.
I remember a time at work in the office when one of the ladies there was busily scribbling and looking worried. We, as her work buddies were concerned and asked if she was ok and could we help. She told us she was making a pros and cons list of having a child (she'd been married for a few years). She didn't think they could afford one. We all, as a team said that if she works it out like paying for a holiday she'd never 'afford' a child. You have a child and you adapt your lifestyle accordingly, you make room, you sacrifice. That's how it works.

The reduction in 'white' British births is worrying because the birth rate amongst so called minorities, black and Asian is in the ascendency meaning that in future years they will become the predominant elements of the populace. Essentially Britain is on course to become a non white nation....and that is of great concern.

I visited a family member recently. They are very educated and the son went to Cambridge (so not stupid). The parents seem awfully sad they weren't getting any grandchildren as theirs had decided to remain childless. They then go on about climate change and how the government need to get a grip on it. Agree very much with what Louise says about leaving people who don't want children alone, for the sake of the children themselves if nobody else. Unfortunately there's often a bad attitude to this in these sorts of discussions and pronatalists sneer at and disparage people who have deliberately chosen not to be parents often for good reason. A mother who thinks babies are repulsive rather than cute is not good for a child, and a father who is unable to control his temper is terrible for a child.
What I'd like to see addressed better is making it achievable for people who do love children and can raise them well to have as many as they want. I know a few women who always wanted kids and married kind and dependable men prepared to do dull-as-dishwater jobs to support them, and the parents and kids are thriving, but they can't have more simply because of financial considerations. It's also not guaranteed that a child will function as a suitable carer for its parent in old age and people shouldn't have them with that expectation, but elderly people who have siblings are probably more likely to do well as the siblings stay in contact and support each other. Fewer, larger good families might better benefit society.

I sometimes joke that if pronatalists can't enjoy certain things because they had kids, neither should the childfree.
Freedom of Speech is needed to allow Freedom of Thought. It's why Europe has been so successful in the last 500 years, and its recent absence is why that success is faltering.

Falling birth rates are definitely due to the economic precarity that defines most people's lives. Housing is unaffordable, energy and food bills keep rising, and childcare costs a full year's wage. Unless we have a seismic shift in housing costs, costs of living, work policies and child care, birth rates will continue to decline.
It's also because people "want to live life" and "40 is the new 20" propaganda crap that is lingering from the last century...
All I see are excuses. When people from poorer countries keep having kids (and I am not talking about destitutes here, I am talking about the middle class) despite economic hardships, it begs the question as to why Western people are falling behind in reproducing themselves. Even middle class/working class immigrant families who have recently arrived in Western countries have high birth rates compared to the native Western people.

No blame divorce makes child-bearing untenable. So does anything that pushes up the cost of housing, or forces the young to live in little rented boxes in big piles of little boxes.
Even in Israel where the majority of people are secular and liberal there is a general sense of community purpose and optimism about the future and family values are very important and somewhat catered to. Most young people enter military or social service in early adulthood. And apart from the ultraorthodox, both parents work in most households. In fact the women are sometimes the primary breadwinners among the ultra orthodox. There too the orthodox are likely going to take over the population between birthdates and immigration. Don’t also ignore the high birth rates among Arab women in israel.
3 of my family members work in nursing homes. Tons of the residents have kids who never visit them.
Maybe they were neglected by their parents as children? Or perhaps they grew up with an emphasis on career, money, status et, and not on family values like caring for the weak/elderly and spending time together as a family?

No. Economy is stifling childbirth.
Arne Burkhardt thought so, he did some interesting research on the matter.
I'd say that it is much too easy for young girls to have abortions. Having one could interfere with the girl's fertility through scarring! Also loose morals allow too many STD's which also affect fertility of men and women! Result is low birth rates!

You should NOT have children to look after you when you're old. Firstly, that's a long time to wait to 'reap the benefits' of having kids and it's not particularly fair? It's also not guaranteed - you might die before then, or have a child who requires lifelong care themselves. OR your children might just not do it - move to another country, not have time, money or space in their life, not know how, not be equipped to do it (if you have a specific and tricky condition).
Wait a minute..Who needs more babies?..The young single mothers out there are doing their part. Do we mean we need more babies out of certain..particular women? Or are we saying we need to adopt more from other cultures?. Or are we saying the nuclear family must be preserved?..

The baby boomer era there was like 6 to 8 kids per household.
Now there is 1.5 kids per mother.

Interestingly i have 5 close friends. 1 would have her son all over again. 3 if they had their time again, would not have their children. The fifth has a disabled child, now mid 30s and living at home and I've not asked.

The metoo anxiety is mainly concerning asking women from work out on dates. Work for the longest time was one of the best places to meet a partner, now asking a woman from work out is a threat to everything. Your standard of living, your reputation etc.
Are the only women you know ones that you work with? Get a hobby. This has nothing to do with metoo you’re just boring with no social skills.

Point of clarity, Utah at least (haven't heard the details in Virginia) did not actually ban p*rn. What they did was place stronger requirements on sites hosting p*rn to prove they were preventing minors from accessing their content and all the major sites responded by suspending access within the state rather than complying with the requirements.
What did we expect when we falsely steered 50% of our young people into degree debt - with the resulting effect of girls feeling the need to justify their choice by putting career before motherhood, & by putting that pcp purchased white SUV & trip to Dubai ahead of boring stuff like starting a family.
I wonder who will be working in future in order to pay the pensions of those who are currently choosing to not pass on their genes......
05:30 I had never thought about the effect birth rates of conservatives vs progressives may have on the trajectory of social standards of society. Interesting...but at the same time religious people have generally always had more kids and religion's influence is waning. But overall, a very compelling thought. I will be thinking about that point for a while.

'Why is the birth rate falling?' Study the works of the population controllers, their beliefs and their aims - delay childbearing for as long as possible by all possible means, make having children expensive, get women into the workplace, etc. The answer to the question lies there.

Louise and Mary Harrington have torn apart the fabric of my reality. I came upon their works when I turned 36 in October. I am that parallel secular version of Louise’s story, and I am so grateful to have been rescued out from under the rubble while I still have ample fertility to start a family. I could never pinpoint what felt instinctively so wrong about everything I was doing in my life, but everyone was doing the same and seemingly okay about it all, so I tried to be okay. The thing is that I don’t think my millennial peers are okay. I think it is all coming out now. Everyone who is still single is coming around to this unfulfilled desire to be partnered with children. And the people who did get married and formed their unions in that secular madness of the 2000s, are all reexamining their relationships and roles as spouses and parents. Again, realizing all this feels like a psychedelic trip, like I’m seeing the matrix, and I’m horrified. I’m in immense grief for what we put ourselves and each other through in the name of trying to relate to each other in the most unnatural of ways. There is so much healing needed between the boomer parents who will be soon dominating populations and need caretaking, and the millennials and gen z kids that were really sacrificed into this strange systematic and cold society and their little ones. This is all so massive and difficult but it seems like the most important topic on our minds to be spending our time on. Thank you so much for this content. I hope this helps others as much as it’s helping me.

they give no thought to how to make the economic and social order more supportive of motherhood. this is discussion presents as if it's protecting kids, women, and morality when their agenda is actually advocating privatization and a far right social/economic order. it's always the same song and dance with these well-off upper middle 'intellectuals' who are advocating for those beneath them on the economic ladder to support their lifestyle.

What I liked was the whole atmosphere of the setting. It looked clean and comfy. The hosts are also well spoken. What I didn't like was the constant interrupting of the guest. As women earn more, their demands from men increase (although what they offer men decreases). Finally, with such a high divorce rate (mainly initiated by women), why should men opt into a situation where they are so heavily penalised with over a 50% chance of it happening.
There isn't an over 50% chance of being divorced if you don't marry someone who has already been divorced. Check out the divorce statistics for first-time marriages and stop trying to demoralise men.

End Child support and men like me would willing give women babies who want to be single mothers by choice
Only 10% of divorces request alimony (not all get it) and of that 10% are men getting money. And the average child support payment is $430 a month. About 30% that should get child support don't get any money. You can also make deals with child support I know a bunch of women that just have the dad pay for medical and dental insurance (and mom pays co-pay/deductible them selves) and call it good. So unless you are some crazy high earner most of this will never apply to you.
Feminism as an ideology is heavily linked to falling birth rates. Women having careers and higher education may reduce birth rates, but teaching them from a young age that divorce, having affairs, fornication and abortion are empowering instead of being bad things sends the birth rate through the floor. So I always find it surprising when Louise Perry is cited as some sort of traditional values crusader by social conservatives. She isn't. You need to look in depth into what she stands for. Personally I am totally for women having careers and higher education (I'm a 1990s man, not an 1890s man), but not the BS feminist ideological framework.

Interesting what you say about vegetarians in the family. I’m very attached to being a carnivore but I only eat meat, eggs,cheese and fish. It’s easy to stick to because we were made to eat meat etc. when I’m out or with family/friends I just leave the veg on my plate and don’t really talk about it unless someone asks me about how well I am at the moment. You wouldn’t think it from the comments I leave on the internet. Eastern Orthodox use veganisim as an ascetic practice, not to be morally superior but as a thing to develop spiritually.
