    Works exactly as advertised! I had this problem in my 2008 Dodge Avenger. Recently I had purchased a used cluster from a 2009 Sebring and that’s when I found out these clusters were faulty and had major problems with their electroluminescent back lighting. After 3 weeks of placing my order, I received this kit and followed these instructions. Afterwards, my back lighting in the instrument cluster works again and I’m 100% satisfied with the results. 👍👌👌

    I have the part and am ready to do the repair. However, mine did not come with instructions and the ebay user I bought it from did not send instructions. I just wanted to ask, there are two yellow wires. Does the placement of them matter or no? Just want to get this done the right way the first time. Thank you!

      Hello Jacob. You defiantly need Install Instructions !
      There is a link in video's description, above, that point to Install Instructions in PDF format. Please click on that link, download instructions then follow the 7 steps exactly. The J1,J2 wire have no polarity though.

    I see you connected wires J6 and J5 to "U27" on the board, but I only have "U28" on my board no "U27" . This is for a 2007 caliber

    • @antarestech1991
      @antarestech1991  5 лет назад +1

      Hi. The wires are NOT connected to "Uxx" components ! The wires are connected to indicated PCB points (Printed Circuit Board) which is the same regardless if some components are missing or not. Just cut the old traces (step 4) and connect the wires. ELD5 is totally independent of any components from that board and it dosen't matter if they are missing or not !
      This thing was discussed on FAQ page of ELD5 here: dodgecaliberinstrumentclusterlight.blogspot.com/p/eld5-inverter-faq.html

    It was a big hassle to solder J6, and i cut the old traces with a dremel instead of scraping them, but otherwise went well. Only thing is it flickers when the car is not on, but is fine when the engine is running. Anyone else has the same? did I do something wrong?

      Hello. You installed ELD5 correctly and is working normal. For protection ELD5 have a low voltage threshold limit. If Instrument Cluster gets lower than 11.5V due to corroded contacts in lower side electrical panel under the front left side strut, then only a engine on , alternator kicking in will provide correct voltage.

      Original circuit its so poor designed that there is no way that it could sustain in long term such large load that EL foil pose. The original circuit get very hot while functioning and eventually fail. That's the reason why there are so many clusters like this with backlite illumination issue. This is design flaw from Chrysler !
      The ELD5 inverter its an upgraded part grantee never to fail while retaining all the original functions including dimming capability.

    Was there a recall on this if not sounds like there should of been, I here this has been a big issue with these cars. This happen to my daughter car and it going to cost her 500 or better to fix. That's great for a college student. If there is a recall on this I would like to know.

    • @antarestech1991

      One could spend ~ 700$ on a new cluster and end up, in time, with no dashlight again, because this is an electronics design flaw and a new cluster will have the same fault, again in time. What do you think will happen ? Chrysler will re-design this clusters and make a recall or they will keep charging each customer again with "500 or better to fix" ?
      The above video show a way to brake this curse, ELD5 will reliable repair Instrument Cluster back-lite illumination , of those clusters, while retaining complete OEM functionality like dimming, ON/OFF .. everything.
      That's why professional cluster repair workshops use only this reliable ELD5 to repair dashlight :

    Hi...I have dodge avenger 2012 the hazard flash don't work. Can you help me with find the hazard relay or fuse place..

    • @antarestech1991
      @antarestech1991  6 лет назад

      Hello. There is no "hazard relay" in those cars as they got replaced with solid state drivers inside TIPM ( Totally Integrated Power Module). In your case I would say that if turn signals works ok then the hazard switch itself could be defective. Hazard switch its digital also connected by LIN bus to the cluster, signal replayed by CAN to TIPM wich actually drives the turns lamps.
