By far the best video avaible to understand the ride. Amazing job and so proud of the second location opening. I worked on the show sets of some scenes and the land in japan in 2018. Thank you so much as this video higlights so much what we have worked so hard to achieve.
Yes! People complain that it’s “too slow” while I’m having the time of my life seeing all these incredible sets and animatronics and effects. The AR is incredible and I’m sure it will only improve going forward but the amount of real physical sets they made is amazing. This ride would not at all be the same if it was a fast ride. I was unsure too when first saw videos of the ride in Japan but after riding in Hollywood, I absolutely love it. I felt like I was fully in the Mario universe.
I was hoping this ride was going to be more of a fast paced thrilling ride sort of like test track but better but the sets they used for this is pretty amazing
I still think this kind of AR system would have been better suited for a Luigi's Mansion ride, but I suppose the amount of IP's they could realistically use was a bit limited considering how much space even just one ride takes up.
I absolutely ADORE this ride, from its really cute tutorials to the interactivity of the ride, although I much prefer the one in japan that I rode. The ratio of screen to props is amazing, especially the twisted mansion part. Thanks for showing us how it works, it really is a technological dark ride.
Been on the Hollywood one 5 times so far. It honestly successfully gets you to ride it again over and over since there are secrets and the associated stamps on the app only beckons completionists to try to find all of the secrets. The ride itself is well designed and even when it breaks down, some people take a while before they realize it.
I'm so stoked for this to open in Orlando in a few years. I'm interested to see how it works now, forget what I learned and watch this video again right before it opens near me lol
You have a great narration voice. It simultaneously keep me involved with the tech and the actual how it works part but is somehow soothing enough I can end my day with one of your videos and its time for bed for me and the dog. Its meant to be a complete complement and im a very happy subscriber!
I wish they'd just create a ride where you're in a physical motorcar, wearing an AR headset, with a configurable track that is adjusted for different game maps between every few rides.
When I was doing the ride I had no idea what parts were on the googles and which parts were physically made, watching a video of it vs experiencing the ride is so different it’s crazy
I have been on it twice in Hollywood and it’s a lot of fun I don’t understand why people are criticizing the ride for not being very fast personally I feel everything else makes up for it.
my main problem with this is that... I played this with the AR glasses and didn't got the chance to appreciate the decoration and everything. Overall this ride is a dream coming true. I rode it on May 5th 2023 !!
An interesting ride would be the Voletarium in the Europapark Rust Germany. Its a giant flying theatre which shows a flight through Europe. The Seat rows move with the Film and float in front of a very very bis screen where the movie is prijected by 3 projectors.
even though i haven’t been on this ride yet, i wish it was more like test track with massive, physical animatronics of mario & bowser racing along side you
It would be nice if they at least had this at the Orlando location. I don't care if they don't get a Super Nintendo World any time soon. I just want a Mario Kart attraction, no matter how long I have to wait.
I rode this but it made me confused. The vr characters were not on the ground they floated around. Also my mom noted the back seat got really warm said she would not ride again. It is super slow only rainbow road was fun with wind. The props are really cool and I do like Mario a lot.
This is probably because nintendo didn't use full on space tracking for the AR visors, like would be used in modern VR headsets - the ride knows _vaguely_ where you are, and exactly which way you're looking: i.e, where the car is but can't place your perspective exactly, so things drift when your head moves laterally.
The 4 Characters who are of my highest priority if I play either of the following 2 Mario Kart Games. Mario Kart Wii: Rosalina > Funky Kong > Baby Luigi > Toadette Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Rosalina > Link > Baby Luigi > Baby Rosalina
Hey question... what's the music that you use for the end of the video? I love the music. It's amazing :) Great job on the video as well! I think I speak for most people who are watching this video that we can't wait to ride this ride as well as the new Donkey Kong ride that will be at the Orlando location!
Love your videos! This one wasn’t as detailed as usual though…. Maybe just less mechanics to talk about ? It seems like the ride would be more enjoyable without AR? I can’t imagine that the AR game is at all responsive?
@@AmusementLabs You should still include said sections in your videos, as its informative and educative. Just add a time stamp, so people can skip if they wish.
the sad part is that it doesn't seem like there are plans for any non Mario related Nintendo rides yet... i mean imagine if they did a pokemon ride... that would sell thousands of tickets
@@isamuominae As someone who actually rode it, not it's not "fine". It's just like I said. Slow and boring, relying on the goggles to do the heavy lifting. It's one of those target shooting rides with 3d effects. No one expected real kart racers, but I'm sure anyone expected something that moved faster than walking speed.
@@choo_choo_ can't be faster If was projected for used by kids too. I enjoyed this thing so much that maybe I gone like 7 times or something like that. No attraction have 100% approval rate, too bad that you didn't liked. At least the majority in USJ enjoy and a lot.

I've watched many of your videos, but can never figure out what the hidden "gears" look like.
I went on mario kart browser's challenge at universal studios hollywood on February 20th 2023
Can you do how the cars in cars land Disneyland work and drive? Is there someone inside or controlled Idkk
I got 151. Only took 3 hrs to get on 😭
How this ride managed to integrate ar into a moving ride is extremely impressive. Looking forward to find out how they did it

Great video! I still really wish that final fight scene with bowser was an animatronic and not a projection though.
I like how the ride is still enjoyable even without the AR goggles
Definitely removing it next time, the AR visuals were too distracting for me to enjoy the sets/ride

It would have been better if it was a Vekoma/Intamin Indoor dueling launched family coaster similar to Cosmic Rewind/Hagrid.
I still think this kind of AR system would have been better suited for a Luigi's Mansion ride, but I suppose the amount of IP's they could realistically use was a bit limited considering how much space even just one ride takes up.
I have ridden it twice in hollywood and the rainbow road scene gets me everytime it seriously blends the projections and ar perfectly

I want a ride that’s just 5 minutes of rainbow road!
i really hope they add this soon
I'm so stoked for this to open in Orlando in a few years. I'm interested to see how it works now, forget what I learned and watch this video again right before it opens near me lol
Orlando will be 10x better. Esp with the DK coaster
@@someoneout-there2165not really orlando is just bigger and has more rides hollywood has better quality rides just not many
I have ridden this twice. I love how the power band is also integrated into the whole experience.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the power bands’ amiibo functionality was inspired by Disney’s magic bands

Ha lol
Have been waiting for this channel to explain this ride works! Thanks! :)
I wish they'd just create a ride where you're in a physical motorcar, wearing an AR headset, with a configurable track that is adjusted for different game maps between every few rides.
Oooh, this looks great! I gotta get to Universal now!
The ride is amazing, but a longer Rainbow Road section with real speed instead of sim wind would've been awesome.
This ride looks great, I’m not gonna watch the video because I don’t want spoilers but I love your channel keep up the good work👍

Cant wait to try this hopefully next year!

I am so hype for this to come out
Can't wait to ride this ride to this year in 2023 !!!
I cant wait for epic universe!
So happy to see these videos back. Well done
@Amusement Labs can you do one on the Hulk at Universal Studios Florida? That's my favorite.
It would be nice if they at least had this at the Orlando location. I don't care if they don't get a Super Nintendo World any time soon. I just want a Mario Kart attraction, no matter how long I have to wait.
The king is back
I rode this but it made me confused. The vr characters were not on the ground they floated around. Also my mom noted the back seat got really warm said she would not ride again. It is super slow only rainbow road was fun with wind. The props are really cool and I do like Mario a lot.

Super slow, LMAO.
Is a attraction for the entire family, including kids.
They are not stupid in put speed in something that always spin!
i'm going in May to the Studios in LA.
do i need this band - which looks similar as a big watch to ride this ride.
It's not required to ride, but more for score keeping and any of the other activities in the land.
The gift shop is actually worth checking out
It is, nice place. Didn't buy anything though.
This ride was worth the 3 hours of waiting

Wow this is way more cool than I was expecting
Could you possibly do how the justice league battle for metropolis rides work?
Fascinating, thanks for sharing
I just wish it would have been faster like a racer with all the visual it would have been amazing if it was faster
Nice to see you again
ok picture this. an indoor, dark rollercoaster that is themed for rainbow road and uses this ar system
Super awesome video.
I. Want. To. Ride. This!
Personally I find the ride a little too slow, but other than that, it's definitely a must ride, especially for any Mario fan.
W the vids are back!
Can you please talk about “20,000 leagues under the sea” in Tokyo Disneysea?
sweet 🔥
Please don't make us wait 7 more months for a new video. You have a relaxing voice. I'm going sleep
Please do Twister
I went on mario kart browser's challenge
AMAZING!
Amazing theming but the ar glasses were so blurry and hurt my eyes, similar to the 3D mode on a 3DS
Do u need the mario band to ride/play on the kart.
No, but it won't keep a history of your score after you leave the ride.
I love looking glass and their products! Soon cool to see them used commercially
For the record, singapore's universal isnt getting nintendo world till 2025!
Future proofing. 🙂
Love your videos! This one wasn’t as detailed as usual though…. Maybe just less mechanics to talk about ? It seems like the ride would be more enjoyable without AR? I can’t imagine that the AR game is at all responsive?
Yes, not as detailed as I've seen a noticable viewer dip when getting to the minute details sections.

If anyone finds the gears tell me the time stamps of all of them please because I can’t find them
Wonder how long these AR headsets will last
They can be swapped out if need be.
come on, it's not even real life karts! how could you talk about this ghost train being innovative?
Is it just me or is the video kind of jumpy? Like it's not smooth
Seems kind of slow and boring, really relying on those AR goggles to do much of the heavy lifting. The tech is neat, but the ride is kinda meh.
Nope, the ride is fine.
Those that expected real kart racers that are disappointed.
