Carl, I suffer from the same issue with the 6mm stub shaft and fitting hex hubs and wheels. The one redemptive quality is the added beef on the stub which is where most of the torque is applied on portals. Looking forward to seeing what you end up using them on, I have really come to love my Phoenix axles😎
I think vitavon has brass portal boxes for them lol they definitely made a aluminum housing for the f10 already thought it was funny!!!! Awesome video tho buddy I’ve been wanting to see this comparison and you done a awesome job!!!!
I'm big on fab'n my on stuff. Because if I can make it out of something and save my wallet. That's the first thing I look at doing. If u know how to cut a small peace of metal the cut one to match that truce on the front axel drill 2 holes that will match up and run screw and nut through it to hold it to the front of the axel
Scx10 3 axles are bullet proof, I mean you'll always find a newb or someone clueless who thinks you can add 12lbs of brass on the corners of a plastic axle and expect it to hold up , Guess what' it's not designed for that no axle will hold up to that abuse, only way thats possible is to add beef tubes or buy aluminum housings otherwise Ar45 axles will last many years when used as there intended to
The reason they made rhe portals that way is cause of a after market company that makes them exactly the same way for the traxxas trx4. It's also why beef tube doesn't offer 10.3 tunes. They been working with vanquish on the Phoenix for just over a yr min maxing there axles. 1 thing vanquish is missing is portal gear options due to the outter portal shaft sitting above the inner portal instead of sitting inside the bearings how traxxas does it stock. Limits you to trans and dif od/ud options only due to the proprietary hub shaft design.
Awesome video Carl.

Thanks for answering the insight
There’s a company from Spain 🇪🇸 that makes brass knuckles for the f10
Hold them with a pair of vice grips if u have a sander or bench grinder and grind that lip or bevel or whatever it's called off that hex
I was thinking same thing just grind it off
Wow those are pricey axles!! But I like them!

Nice axles look stronger on the panhard mount and c hubs just not worth 260 dollars as always with vanquish stuff over priced for what it is.
