Puts a whole Phoenix roller together without putting the motor in the VFD Twin? Bold. And from a self-confessed cluttermonger, please put something (anything) on that vast expanse of off-white wall. It's making me anxious. I crave disorder and chaos.
I just built a hard body yota...I used a ssd trail king kit with shrink rc mounts. That actually started a thing.....now I have another hard body build started...
Love it man! I’ve had the vs4-10 and extra cab body in my RPP cart for awhile now! Already have the body mounts from Shrinkrc. Just need to pull the trigger! It’s hefty purchase but you have inspired me. Cheers 🍻
I dig your videos 👍🏼 I’m down in Logandale, right by the fairgrounds (Where the scale nats were last year). You crawl on familiar terrain, and sometimes the same terrain as me👍🏼
Dude! I was building mine and needed a break. So I go outside turn my phone on and you're building one lol. I guess great minds think alike . It was such a good deal I just had to get it. Good looking build you are doing. I can't wait to see the finished truck. Cheers
I ordered my straight axle bundle a few days ago and I'm looking forward to getting started on it. Im going with a Cliffhanger body that i have laying around and some Rock Pirates sliders on mine. I was going to do the Fusion Pro 2300kv but I was told it wouldn't fit with the VFD.
My man! Even carries a benchmade knife. Looking forward to this build. I’ve been wanting to rebuild my Phoenix chassis with a hardbody after stealing the the axles from it. This is the exact build I was visioning of so it will be cool to see this build done.
Excited to see how this build turns out. It's hard to find a sweet spot between ride height, body trimming and wheelbase to make things fit nice and still perform well. Curious to see what you come up with.
It’s cool seeing this one come together, thanks for sharing the process. I can’t wait to see the finished product and I’m especially stoked to see it out on the rocks. Keep up the great work! 👍✌️
Working on my Phoenix build last night and watched this while working on mine. I bought the machined gears, aluminum bearing plate, and aluminum transmission standoffs. I ran into a weird issue with the front output shaft being too short to get the pin through it. Had to shave down the transmission housing and the driveshaft both to get it on, and it's still really tight fitting.
If you ever do that body again the pro-line ford ranger wide body flares fit perfect. I did a pre-runner build with that body and used the pro-line ford ranger pre-runner flare and the body line match perfect
You're going to have to either lengthen the rear links or shorten the bed of the '87 xtra cab body to fit that chassis as that body's wheelbase is longer than 12.3". I shortened my bed ahead of the wheel opening to fit the chassis, and bobbed it behind the wheel opening as well. Also if you haven't noticed yet the Open Countrys have a little different design on each side near the shoulder of the tire, so you'll want to make sure to have the same design side out on each one.
Thanks for sharing Logan. I've had an 87 Extra cab body for a while and just didn't know what to put it on. I have a VP straight axle Bundle on the way and now know what to do with it. I am particularly interested in how you accommodate for the shock towers to come through the bed.
Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Nice clean build and that 'Yota body is going to be killer. Looking forward to more and PLEASE, keep these sorts of videos coming! 🤞
I have those new Vanquish VXT2 tires... they're awesome!! But I totally get why you picked the others... they look like they belong on that truck, whereas the VXT2s have a way more "modern" tread pattern.
That is a great design I don't know why people would ever Mountain shock on the same phone as the link that just makes it 10 times harder to do anything
I just got straight axle bundle today and the chassis went together smooth. It came with a QR code for further instructions on assembly but all that does is take me to their website and I'm not finding any instructions or a video.
So I am also cheep ( cant even afford the a ) and don't want to buy shock pliers. Dont mare those shafts! Get some small fuel line and shove it over the needle noses, you'll be able to grab the shafts and not cut into them, rendering a leak
I'm not grouchy I just wish people would put like something together showing the prices so people understand what this stuff cost Because by the time he's done with that truck you're talking about 15 16 17 hundred dollars

Shock pliers!
Vanquish need to up their parts and packing QC game.
That kit is calling my name. I've been wanting my first class 1 rig
Should be a sweet rig. Great video. Thanks for sharing. John
Awesome vid. I was actually thinking of building a truck with that body!
Cool video. Like seeing a build video series.
Thats a very very very nice shop. 🤘🏼

Nice! Awesome. Now I might build this. Just need the body.
OH YEAH 🇬🇧🇺🇲🕊️✌🏼🤙🏼

Love all the content you have posted recently! Videos coming more often! This was a fun one, something different than normal, cool to see your process

Logon Thanks for sharing this video GREAT idea SIR. Happy Thanksgiving Logon 🇺🇲✌🏼🤙🏼
love the yotas!

Show more hobby shop trips please
Wish my lhs had a selection like that
Nice bugout bro
Great content! Looking forward to this build. Those body mounts are slick, I'll have to look into them for my own builds

Love it logan, thanks for the great video! You’re quite efficient with those VS4-10 kits at this point 😂🤘🏼
How heavy are the aluminum axles compared to the plastic ones with brass in them?
Good stuff! Happy Thanksgiving
Very nice man💪🇧🇻
I'm doing something similar with my kit.
Well.
I'm going to try hahaha

An easy way to add a little length is with Traxxas Revo long rod ends.🤙

Update video tonight!
The metal battery tray is for a gen 1 orgin setup with the 3 gear transmission
Whats funny is that this video came out today as i was eyeballing the VS4-10
If not more depending on tires and rims
Just the motor ESC and the axles are like 800
A build video, woo hoo!!! Be back in about 32 mins! 😉

8:43 You either have a trigger finger that proceeds you or HUGE balls to use that Milwaukee driver.
Throttle control bud

Hey im first?
Recently found your channel and I like it. Your voice overs are very relaxing!

60mm shocks laid down slightly in the rear then you don't have to have shocktowers sticking through
Me gen 8 shartz and fartz on vanquish!!!
I have a question, what are your thoughts on proline trencher predator tires for rocks? Love the vids!
Question, do you chose not to run grease on the ring& pinion, just wondering. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Where can i find the tool that helps build the links
Team garage hack
Xmaxx rules the xrt is just as fast , but not as much fun. Just saying. Xrt = no back flips on demand... lol have a great Thanksgiving.
Alot of mistakes from Vanquish.
Must be a Taiwan issue. Lol
Just curious..how much for the total build?
