@@afraali9683 i did, on my m850i convertible and on my 750i m sport, the key is kinda gimmicky but it works pretty nicely, its only an $850 option, my dealer throws them in for free because I have a longstanding relationship with them
The key costs $1350, has a frame rate 3x less than my Apple Watch, has a dpi less than my Apple watch, has a more scratchable surface than my Apple watch, has limited functionality, can't play games on it, lags. Well the bright side is it's made in Germany and looks good quality.
yeah, I mean without hackers, cars are still being stolen everyday, what make it different? About charging, who know. Since your car key would stay in your pocket a lot, they will develop a new technology which gains energy from getting close to your dick...(I'm not a racist though). LOL! And you get it charged almost the whole day.
Its possible to buy this key fob and adapt on x5m? or there is no Way to use it on other bmw models? i want to costomize a x5m 2015/7/6 Like that projects with 800hp. but i want the series 7 features on the back seats and the key fob. witch parts of a series 7 i should bring to built on the x5m to make the key works with all features? somebody already tried it? If no there is some Way to design a réplica and adapt the system to have the same design and features on a x5m?
At this rate just make your cell phone your car key. Buy your car, get an access key from the dealer for the car to download it via your Appstore, then you dont have to carry a separate key because if you can afford this car, good chance you have a smart phone.
Why not make a phone app like other car makers. Now you need a phone+this huge clumsy key thing that also needs charging. This would have been cool 10-15 years ago (when the first ugly 7-series came out), not so much anymore.
The interface seems a bit laggy... A 100000 dollar car shouldn't have such issues. Also it's a bit unnecessary isn't it? Won't an app be a better idea? Cause the key is a bit too big. Also what about charging? Here is a quote by BMW on key-recharging: "The key can be recharged inside the vehicle inductively (contact-free) by placing it in a special charging tray, or by using the micro USB port." I'm sorry, but to me it's a desperate attempt by BMW to think outside the box and have something Mercedes doesn't have... A big car key with a touchscreen that needs recharging every week is not a feature, it's an inconvenience...
I have used it today and I use Apple products so I font have to deal with lag but it's actually brilliant it looks laggy with the animation but it's not it's great
I question the decision to make such an expensive key when a smartphone app would have easily sufficed. Then again this isn't for a 3 series but a $100,000 7 series so who really cares.
+ThePersonWithoutAName We would have to see how long it takes to charge, if it takes as long a s a cell phone then our average daily driving time is not long enough to charge it.
sometimes the germans don't understand that simpler is better, this will cause problems 4 years down the road and cost more to fix than anyone cares to pay
yeah man, i'm in school now, I couldn't afford a civic. 7-series start at 80k, and usually costs north of 100, most people are not shamed by knowing they can't afford such a car
I love how janky the animations are. Why they would ever find this acceptable blows my mind. Everyone has a perfect platform for a 'smart key' in their pocket already: a smart phone. Why not leverage that technology to make a world-class app that performs all these same functions, rather than half-assing it with a key that (terribly) tries to recreate this same functionality? I know this is supposed to be a centerpiece, but think about where it'd be most often: in your pocket (or purse). Probably connected to other metallic keys. I can't imagine this thing surviving for more than a year without getting some pretty terrible scratches on the display. Even sapphire scratches. The key itself is also pretty "fat." It'd leave quite a big bulge in a pocket.
+myk Not much use if your mobile battery is always flat like mine usually is, or you want to lend the car to a colleague or the wife/gf? I would rather have something that works every time and is hopefully more secure than a mobile phone.
I'm sorry. No disrespect to anyone, but this is pathetic. I love BMW, but this is overkill. Serious overkill. Who wants to deal with a key they have to charge, or worry about losing, scratching, dropping on the ground, getting wet. Parking your car with your key? I don't see how it's the ultimate driving machine anymore when you're no longer the one driving it. No thanks.
My god, this is beyond what I expected from car key. Well done BMW! You always surprised us
gugiabdel who would spend that much money on a flipping key mate

Even if it's not that refined this remote is a good thing because it'll set a benchmark for companies like tesla to perfect it even more
the parking feature is useful for tight spots where you can't open your door.

you charge it while its in the car duhh. everytime youre on the go simply dont use it
Can we get the key for other cars
Can I use this in a f30
Does the 2016 750i M sport package have those capabilities?
Beautiful
Sick, but susceptible to hackers. Plus, now we're going to have to charge our car keys?
+damienz I agree it's overkill. But the rare times that it would be useful, you'll be happy you got it.

It's not they don't like it. The "critics" LOVE it. It's just they can't afford it. Simple logic.
