the fact that something uses radio waves, lights or anything to communicate outside a cable is possible to hijack remotely.
cabled stuff still require on site tamping so its a tad more tedious but still possible
TL;DR: if it uses a computer for anything its posible to hack

Sam Lung New BMW cars in North America probably sell for less compared to in Europe... probably because these cars are assembled and produced in the USA (with foreign & domestic parts) and they pump out high volumes of new cars compared to in Europe.

Kinda cool feature to play with a few times when it's new, but completely useless after that. What does BMW expect people to do? Line the car up with a spot, get out of the car, then move the car slowly with the remote into the space?

If I had a car like that I wouldn't park it anywhere I can't open the doors easily. In fact, I wouldn't even park it near other cars because I wouldn't want anyone to scratch/dent the doors.
BMW along with most modern cars have tons of blind spots. Probably why they incorporated this crap feature people will use once then never again

Very nice video Mike. Straight to the point and very informative! I wish I had the Remote Parking feature on my car... Sure, that key is huge, but that is something that can definitelly come in handy when people park so close to your car that you can barely get in.

Can you up grade the 530e to work with this key?
As far as i know you can upgrade literally any BMW within the last 7ish years with this key (F generation cars and similar years)
But it's not neccesary that it will have remote parking still like a 7 or 5 series
I have the same key, 530e model but no R/C parking boton on the side

That's why you lease the car. No one in their right mind buy's BMW's anymore, unless they plan on selling before the warranty expires. In which case you were better off just leasing it.

Dashte well to me, I've been fine all my driving life without this feature so far and I'm sure I'll do just fine without it for the rest.
It's not like anyone's going to use that remote control thing but it is an awesome way to show off that's a showstopper right there

Shiver if you park in those places without having space to exit the car and the vehicles next to you don't have that feature they are going to hit your car while trying to enter their vehicles when they are back. So it's even worst
Can you think a bit? If you can park like that but the cars next to you can not do it and they're already there when you arrive when the owners of those cars want to leave the place and try to access to their vehicles they're going to hit your car with their doors, as your car is going to be really close to them and they can't move the vehicle without entering. Do you understand the problem now?

This key is stupid. Now you have to charge your key. BMW should make an app for your smartphone to use the features of the key.

Just took delivery on my 2019 model, at first I thought the same but realized the display key can be charged wirelessly right on the wireless charging tray in the center console just in front of the cup holders so it's convenient and it also comes with a core and can be plugged in right inside the center console where your right elbow rests

How often do you have to charge your keyfob?
Depends on how often you use it, it's an optional fob.. you get regular ones as well
I'm guessing it charges itself when you put it in the slot before pressing the start engine button

Great review of the key's features but I wouldn't care to carry that large "key" in my pocket all the time personally. I love the tech, that is pretty impressive. I think I would just as soon have the features in an app on my phone and a normal size key.

Hey dude! I did not saw you parked the car. I saw the vehicle self driven forward/back. I was expecting to see it self driven and then park along a curb wall between two other vehicles. For example, one vehicle to it's front and the other to it's rear. That would impressed and you would earned my "Like" and "Subscription"
