The BMW 7 Series G11/G12 underlines its claim to redefine what an exclusive, luxurious driving experience looks like in contemporary, pioneering form with an exceptional array of innovations. Key factors in enhancing dynamics, efficiency, comfort and safety while on the move are the use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) in the body structure, engines from the BMW Group’s new generation of power units, the plug-in hybrid system in the new BMW 740e, the Executive Drive Pro active chassis system, the Driving Experience Control switch with ADAPTIVE mode, and BMW Laserlight. Maximising well-being in the interior, meanwhile, are the Executive Lounge feature with massage function, the illuminated Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof, just the right amount of accent lighting and a smartphone holder with inductive charging station.
The BMW 7 Series G11/G12 also boasts standout innovations when it comes to operating system and driver assistance technology. The various new features that are unprecedented in the luxury sedan segment include, for example, the extension of the iDrive system to include a touch display and BMW gesture control, as well as Touch Command for controlling comfort and infotainment functions in the rear compartment using a tablet computer. In addition to all this, BMW is also presenting the latest generation of the BMW Head-Up Display in its new flagship model, not to mention Crossing traffic warning, the Steering and lane control assistant, active side collision protection, the Surround View system with 3D View and Panorama View, and a Remote Control Parking system.

Cadillac STS / DHS / CTS are the best very strong machine and very reliable winter or summer never had any problem . My wife has a BMW 750LI this car has too many electronic problems not a reliable car at all . Transmission overheating, ABS fails, Hydraulic suspension leaking , Servotronic fault. Had towed it 4 times in one month .

The cost of one of those machines is probably less than an hour's worth of the work process of the factory entities that would get shut down or slowed down because of this failing link. So yeah, having such a redundancy is a cheap mitigation of much costlier problems.

The sad thing I recall in comparison is in the past all of the people it took to build a car or for that matter anything. It's only a matter of years, not decades, where the vast majority of jobs all the way up to a surgeon that can and will be replaced by a robot and AI.
false. robots are not replacing humans. there other humans designing and manufacturing and maintaining those robots. so basically when a company uses robot they're not cancelling job positions but moving them to other factories (that manufacture robots) the jobs are still there
it is not that robots are performing surgeries. robots are assisting in surgeries as human hands , making the job easier for the surgeon.

7 serie is my next step. As a kid, hopped in my mother's E36 316 manual. Drove my first BMW which was an E46 323i manual. Currently driving an E60 530d auto. Can't wait for the future.

I feel sorry for those super good cars that only rich people can get .. I mean, people who have never experienced serious difficulties to drives a car daily, .. I think this is a waste of technology...-poor people will value it 100% mare than a richman; Rich people never had to deal with serious daily difficulties as driving without brakes, or having to put oil for every 100 Kms..or even change a rescue wheel!!!- they just call assistance in trip !! - There are about 15, I had to go to work the house of 50kms with a Fiat Uno without foot brake ..- I really am very sorry that these "monuments"( the 7 series) on wheels will go to wrong hands .. just because of money and not because they know what really is the BMW. (the same thing with my partners racers pilots rich, they drive like old ladys- when the poor go further and win! - (Im a BMW owner)

carbon fiber in frame? really stupid. one accident and good luck straightening the frame. $100k will be worth only the scrap metal then. Bmws are the worst when it comes to durability also. in my shop %60 of the business is oil and coolant leaks from Bmws. Bmw is intentionally complicating things so at 40k miles the car is not worth fixing. Yes I know they drive great, but I still feel sorry for all my clients who baught a second hand BMW and now have to spend $4k to fix couple of leaks and change the brakes.

I am just amazed to see so many negative comments in here, this is just the production plant, & it can piss that much people off. Some of them even bash Bimmer, & praise American cars. What does this production plant has to do with that? Just because German cars are built in very high standard, doesn't mean that they can't be surpassed. To be fair, American cars suppose to be the best in the world, it wasn't long that they are laughing at the Japanese, & when Toyota, Honda, Nissan are working harder & surpass them, Amercians got jealous. Its not the Japanese fault, the U.S Automakers mis-managed & got lazy, & instead of building better products, top executives take perks, flying around in private jets, & when they are about to get bankrupt, they ask Congress to give them money. Great going, so pathetic. If Chevys are that good, how come majority of the world ain't buying them, you can't blame car owners, blame your pathetic management. The Germans are different, they didn't take Lexus, Infiniti & Acura like a joke, they took them seriously, & they determine to keep themselves relevant by building even better products. Americans are so jealous on other people doing better than them, instead of getting back in the game, they blame foreigners on everything, no wonder the country went backwards.
