      @Chocobo I fact Spidey is owned by Marvel (Property of Disney now but was independant when the deal was concluded) but Sony has a contract with Marvel to produce films in the Spiderman universe. If Sony want to maintain the deal they have to produce a Spidey movie each 3-4 years and it is the reason why Spiderman 3 was horrible, they did it fast to preserve the franchise. Since the latest franchise with Tom Holland Sony made a deal with Disney/Marvel so Marvel do the movies and they are in the MCU but produced under Sony logo... in brief Sony does nothing and still get a nice revenue. If the deal with Disney finish Sony could then use Tom Holland in their own movies like Venom vs Spiderman.

      @joserivera1301 3 года назад +123

      Since I see a lot of people in this thread that don’t know what they are talking about, Sony owns the rights, they just have a deal with Disney so they can have Spider-Man in the MCU. Sony basically has a bigger hold on the franchise, which is why if they wanted to they could just take Spider-Man out the MCU.

    Damn this gives me mad goosebumps. Just bought the deluxe collector's edition blu ray set and rewatched all the movies, figured I'd come back and watch all the trailers again too.
    I remember seeing this in the theater when I was 13. When it started I was like "eh, looks like some lame action movie." Then you see the helicopter in the web and I was like "...a giant spider movie???" (I wasn't very bright). And then 1:30 happened and you realize what you're seeing, and my mind fucking exploded.
    These movies were such a huge part of my life growing up. I remember waiting for the Spider-Man 3 trailer to load on my computer in the early days of RUclips, when my family still had dial up. It took like 4 hours but it was so worth it.
    I remember I saw Spider-Man 2 so many times in the theater that I knew if I asked my mom to go see it again that she'd say no, so I lied and said my friend hadn't seen it and wanted to go, and I was going to meet him at the theater. So my mom dropped me off and I sat there alone and saw it for like the 4th time and still loved it.
    I remember the Spider-Man 2 DVD was all I wanted for my birthday that year.

    Possibly my favorite movie trailer of all time. My dad and I saw this- I believe it was just before seeing Evolution around August 2001. The theater went wild. It was just the perfect mixture of subtlety and surprise. Had just started 6th grade. What a fun time it was!!!

    I'm glad this trailer has been preserved. Had me so excited for the film back in the day, even if it is a product of its time what with having music from The Matrix etc. I kinda wish the film had been released before the attacks so as to immortalise the buildings in one last blockbuster outing, but I get why it was removed (and why the heavy-handed 'You mess with one of us' sequence was added). I really do miss the world as it was then though. I was only in my mid-twenties and I miss the relative sense of optimism before the attacks. They've tainted so much of the following decades.

    Man this movie was the reason I pushed myself to the marvel and DC comics at that time. I remember seeing this trailer back then. Being 9 and suddenly seeing a superhero so badass who could actually fly like that. And trust me, that CGI was way good for that time. It really got me excited for this movie. However during 9/11, when this trailer was cut out and posters were cancelled I didn't make the connection of twin towers as I knew nothing about World Trade Center. But now, its part of history.
