First scratch build, honestly, I wouldn't have known if you hadn't said anything. It looks great, and so does your layout. I've just watched it with my grandson and a couple of your other videos. He keeps filming our small layout for his Dylington Model Railway channel, and in fairness, he's not doing a bad job. Anyway, he's enjoyed watching your video and has subscribed, so we'll be watching some more together next time he's here.....cheers James 🙂👍
Thank you for your comment James. Me and my grandson work together to produce these videos and by the sounds of it you two are doing the same and that is wonderful to hear. I have subbed to your channel and i look forward to watching your videos. All the best- Col and Dan
@Mossendrailway00 Thank you, Col and Dan, for taking the time to watch our videos and subscribing. It is very much appreciated, we have turned off the comments for my grandson's protection due to his age. However they are on, on the Christmas one. So if you ever feel like leaving a comment you could do it on there or I suppose even on here. Just mention the name of the video you're commenting on. He will be starting to build a 009 layout in the near future and I'm sure he'll film his progress and post it on his channel.......cheers James 🙂👍
it's a lovely building, apart from it needs a bit more weathering. I hate saying things like this as people take offense, but a 50s/60s building would need more grime. I mentioned this to Peco who never responded. Scratch building is very hard as is weathering. As you build up the scene, look at where discolouration would appear, a little moss, soot, grime whatever. But I do love it
The cottage looks brilliant for a first attempt. well done. i remember my first scratch building. and i can tell you now. you will only improve and get better with every building you build from now on. great stuff. best regards Tony................. 10 out 10 .....
Thank you for your comment John and David. I have just subbed to your channel and I will watch your content to find more about your layout. I think you should give scratch building a go it is lots of fun and the end product is something to be proud of. All the best- Col

Ps, I love the longer videos
I worry about the longer videos because i don't want to boar people with me rambling on for ages.
Very effective.
Thank you.
Pebbledash was used in Metroland in the 1930s

I think it is good I have tried several times to scratch build without success so I buy the card kits ie metcalfe.
Thank you for your comment. Try it again I had a lot of fun doing it but it does take a lot of effort and time. All the best -Col
