- Slambo is overdue for inspection.
Here's why.
This is a true story about a check engine light (CEL) that won't go away. It's not a paid endorsement for Pizza in a Bag.
The next Slambo video will go into depth on the issue.
I don't know how much weight I've lost on the low carb diet, but I want to lose at least another twenty pounds. I really really really miss pizza.
Thanks, Harley! - Авто/Мото
A nice engine swap would be pretty dang cool!!!
Jonny Hyde If I had the dough to do it right …
MPGomatic Good luck. I can't wait to see what you do with it
Ha ha state inspection more for the state coffers to line their pockets!
No wonder NJ comes out dead last as the worst state in which to live. High taxes, overcrowding, bad schools, crime and yes, inspections. Glad I move out 30 yrs ago and never looked back. BTW my Corolla had its check engine line on for most of its 20 yrs existence and it lasted 420k miles.
Congrats on the 420k with the Corolla, Pedro! NJ is awesome, it all depends on the area, but much of it is crazy expensive. I’m broke but happy here.
I used to live in Hudson county, too close to NY which meant very expensive to live there, very overcrowded and high taxes and crime as well
pedro fernandez Bingo. It all depends on where you’re at … compare that congestion to the wide open Pine Barrens and Northwest corner of the state. Few jobs, few people, but laid back and a lot less expensive.
MPGomatic, you have an email you can be reached out for general car inquiries?
Paul Molinari Business inquiries or questions about cars in general?
MPGomatic General cars related to some of your MPG videos
Paul Molinari I don’t provide email support. If there’s a question about a specific vehicle, use the comment section. RUclips also has a channel message feature. Thanks!
I tried sending a message on your channel and kept saying failed. thats why I inquired about an email address
Bummer! What’s the question?
Code reading on a 90' car is pretty generic. A 25$ USB code reader should manage. Last resort: make a small circuit that powers the check engine light for 4 seconds after you turn the key and then turns it off. Then you'll fool em. Oh, you're selling it, then you'll have to fix it
Tore Lund NJ inspection stations use OBDII code readers that are hooked up to a central computer system. Can’t be fooled, AFAIK.
Oh, I forgot, I'm from environmentally sacred Europe where code readers are not used on inspection and simply filling up with E85 (85% Ethanol) Brings both NOx and HC down to almost nothing on the tailpipe test.
Tore Lund 👍🏻 We had tailpipe tests back in the day. Pre 1996 cars aren’t tested at all. It’s nutty.
