There were a number of these Tram sessions. As the sign said this one featured Paul & Dan Kelly. I'm a country, girl. I don't like going to Melbourne, but I wish I was on that Tram.
Conflicted feelings with this one, a favourite Paul Kelly song, also a eulogy song played at my little sister’s funeral. Now I cry every time I hear it, beautiful sad xoxo
I know what you mean. Music has a way of anchoring onto a memory, and never the twain shall be parted. My Mum always wanted "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye" for her funeral, and I always thought what a fun, cheerful choice, very Mum. I'd got through the whole service in one piece, as it was very much a celebration of Mum's life. But the moment the song started I lost it completely, and I can't listen to it without crying. But I also can't listen to it without thinking of Mum and the lovely memories. So as you say, bitter-sweet.🥹🌺❤️
That was beautiful, I wish this could happen every day, Australia used to be as laid back and friendly as this! Yes Mike, I prefer to think it was impromptu as well! 🎶🤗🌅
What a buzz to ride a tram and see Paul Kelly and his nephew Dan 😮😊. I’m not sure if the tram is random people or if it’s set up , someone will know . But imagine knocking off work on your way home and that happens . I’d miss my stop for sure 😂. Thx Mike 👍
The phrase Tram sessions indicates that it is a commercial enterprise. I'd love to have been on this tram as my love and respect for Paul increases over time.
Paul has over 200 songs that you could react to LOL he is one of the best songwriters ever and can bring people together for the length of the song as they all have meaning to them as Pauls lyrics seem to connect with most people as they can relate to them
In Melbourne, you just DON'T talk to other people on public transport. You hear someone trying to do that and you know you have someone who should probably be sectioned. If I got on on a tram in my hometown and heard this going on, I'd be really annoyed....that I didn't have my mando with me because I'd be right there.
I got on a Adelaide tram a month ago & it was the first time in over 30 years & I spoke to a woman as soon as I sat down, same with the train, I'm originally from Melbourne, but I'm old school & old lol😂 👍🇦🇺
Paul zkelly is an icon of Australian music. Jumping on a tram.and here he is playing through your journey. Amazing
Great song and great setting on a Melbourne tram!!
Our greatest story teller. Our love for him in this country is similar legendary status as Farnham.

Thanks everyone. Very satisfying for my soul !

I’m so sorry, Jo. I know what it’s like to lose siblings. ❤️💔😢

Most Aussies would know this song by heart ❤
For sure.
This is so typical of Melbourne.... PK jumps on a tram (in St Kilda I imagine) & turns it into a mobile pub. Melbourne city humble greatness. ❣
One of my favourite Paul Kelly songs. The Ozi Batla live version at the tribute concert is nice too.
What a thrill to be in a Melbourne tram and have Paul Kelly singing in it!

Glad you enjoyed it

It looks like an after work crowd, what a joy, I would miss my stop too ( but walk away singing)! 🤗

A sentimental song for me. I love it. This version just adds to it. Thanks Mike...we got 35 degrees celsius happening here in NSW today.
Yesterday was brutal, Mitch! 🥵🔥☀️
Paul Kelly is a brilliant song writer, and always with a story behind it. I imagine that if you got on that tram, you just might miss your stop. 😅😊
Morning, Greg! Awesome choice, mate. ❤🇦🇺👍
Hey, running late today, bloody busy at work
@@briangill4000come on mate , get ya self organised 😂
@@wayback479 it was good when Mike dropped at 3am... I could watch while having breakfast... now I squeeze it in when I get a chance

G’day Mal 👋
You can't get much more Melbourne than this.
Good on ya Greg.
I agree with your feelings on that mate it's nice to imagine there is goodness out there still.
5.46k hey Mike
They were definitely not set up. It was an initiative by the city of Melbourne I believe. Quite a few other artists have done them.
Please do Droving Woman performed by Paul and Dan Kelly and Missy Higgins.
Probably sounds a bit crazy, but one of the things I miss the most about living in Melbourne is the trams I grew up with. ❤❤️🇦🇺👍

Looks fair dinkum to me, not a set up.
Was a thing called Tram Sessions, not a set up there was more than one
