- What we got up to in this video...
What a day to finish off our Sagada trip we spent the day with John again to visit the Blue Soil Hills! We are still not 100% sure why it’s so blue, but we are glad it rained that day as we could really see the beautiful bright blue coming through.
It reminded us of back in the UK and we did really enjoy the walk to see this very unique thing!
We hoped you enjoyed this video and if you did then please show us some support by subscribing to our channel and being part of the on the move community!

We LOVED our trip to The Philippines and we went to 14 different places in total from going all the way up North to Vigan, to the islands down South with the bluest water we have ever seen! 🇵🇭
We enjoyed many adventures together in this beautiful country and tried as much food as we could fit in too!
We would really appreciate any recommendations and ideas for our next trip, anything we missed? Where do you think we’d enjoy exploring next?

Awesome nature trip. Jess is sooo cute holding that bag of oatmeal cookies 😂
Haha! She sure is 😊
The proper name for it is copper green, if you guys noticed some old churches in UK they have green roof , because they use copper sheets metal, and the color changes because of the air , and the water is just make it deeper color and it turns blue it’s actually green.
Thank you for chillin in our beautiful country enjoy
Thank you for answering our question 😊

You are eating GUAVA, one of the most nutritious fruits packed with vitamin C. It's also a medicinal fruit, with its leaves used for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. So enjoy it while you can. Dragon fruit costs more than 10 US dollars apiece in the West
So delicious we love it 😍
Thumbs up 👍😍🥰❤️

We have looked into this I think it’ll be on the cards 😊
♥️
It is chemical reaction. Like blue water in waterfalls in Laos or Philippines.
Thank you for answering our question 😊
That fruit you ate is guava. When ripe it is really sweet, but it has lots of tiny seeds.
So delicious

Very entertaining vlog. I fell in love with Sagada when we went there last March. You're so pretty Alice and Jess kinda looks like the European version of Christine Reyes.
Thank you for the nice comments 😊
guava, a fruit that is now slowly being gone especially in the cities. It is also full of vitamin C.
So delicious
I think I enjoy the food reaction part of your videos more than the travel🤔😍
I think we are quickly realising the food is our favourite part of travelling 😆
Lovely vlog. Keep on vlogging in the Philippines. Thanks and your new subscriber here.
Thank you 😊
also used for cooking as bayabas stew
Wow Philippine glacier 😅
Looks like one
So proud
It was a great day 😊
So strange , seeing a blue soil for the first time. It’s good that John is still there as your guide.
Yes he was amazing 🤩
The blue tint of that soil signifies the presence of copper. Nice view.
Thank you for answering our question 😊
You are both lucky to have an expert tourist guide.
John was amazing 🤩
I'm curious what mineral it is. Maybe copper? They turn blue when exposed to air and water.
EDIT: his explanation is pretty spot on. Copper oxidizes and turns into a blue-green "rust" called verdigris. It's also why the Statue of Liberty is blue-green. It was originally shiny copper.
Thank you for answering our question 😊
I've heard of the Blue Hills before but have forgotten about it. Glad you were able to visit it to show us. And glad you're absolutely loving it it here in PH. :)
I hope you can also visit Baguio, our summer capital. There are several popular tourist attractions there too like Mines View Park, Camp John Hay, Botanical Garden and Strawberry Farm where you can pick more strawberries.
🍓 :)
Sounds fantastic thank you 😊
Your Sagada series is interesting and educational. Thanks for making the vlog.

Have you been to Tagaytay City? it's just an hour and a half from Manila. there you can see Taal Volcano and much more. the weather there is like in Baguio and Sagada.
No we haven’t yet but thank you for the suggestions 😊
You really enjoy the beautiful scenery the hard way , thanks for bringing us to your wonderful journey.
Our pleasure 😊
Hi. Watched ur vlog again. I believe we have people who can explain to you that blue color phenomenon u just went to see. People from our science department I think. Glad you're making the most of your stay via adventurous undertakings. Stay safe always.
Thank you 😊
Been to Sagada only once, though not to the Blue Soil Hills, but I spoke to a friend of mine who's been up there a number of times. She told me she was informed by the Sagada tourism bureau that the blue soil is caused by its copper sulfate content. She also said the hllls do become more blue right after the rains stop, like you mentioned. Great achievement for you both. Congratulations.
Thank you for answering our question 😊
If Batanes is open for tourist go there and you will enjoy staying there.
We need to go here it looks incredible 😍
Wow! Really enjoyed your vlog of a nice walk to see the blue soil. That place is so awesome and so beautiful. Good find. 👍🏼❤️
Thank you 😊
Miss that place(I'd been there 2019), so peaceful something mystical. And something I like about the towns there is that although located in the midst of the mountains the people there are living a well balanced/decent way of living as a community which is very nice, better as compared to those in the lowlands or island areas wherein you can notice the obvious disparity of the haves & the have-Nots. Anyways left you a sub but you guys miss 2 beautiful falls w/ amazing view of rice terraces even the nearby pottery located just 1 kilometer from the center which is fun to try, maybe next time/year during the summer months.
Thank you for the suggestions
love your vlog guys, keep it up
Thank you 😊
Sagada and its environs are simply magical. Love your vlogs!
Thank you 😊
Please support this channel they help our small businesses.
We love local small businesses 😊
Don't touch it ! 🤣
It's Uranium 235
You guys should go to BATANES awesome nature n landscape - sort of Ireland 🇮🇪 n Scotland in TROPICAL SETTING. BATANES is an ultimate destination!
The place is Avatar!
See if you can lodge at "Fundacion Pacita " you will be sleeping in the clouds ⛅️
Thank you for appreciating the beauty of my hometown, Batanes
We have had a look at this place and we really want to go 😊 thank you for all your suggestions!
thank you for showing the beauty of the mountains of the cordillera, philippines is not only about beaches! if you go deeper into the mountains you will find eerie and spectacular views in the mountains. just need locals to get you there! Visit Mainit village where villagers live side by side with hot springs. and oh the spider is harmless, its just scary because it big! cheers!
We love the mountains 😊 thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
You should try buko pie it's really delicious :D
Ok we will look out for this 😊
Hi Alice and Jess, I guess your last stop is visiting Marlboro Hills which is stunning for views! It will make your life story so different! Wish the weather is good visiting this place!
Trivia: the soil there is rich in "copper" that when it gets to some water it reacts and turn bluish in color. Good thing is no one is mining for that kind of matter in Sagada.
Thank you for answering our question 😊
thats abundant of copper ores..
It sure is 😊
Thank you for visiting our country!
My grandparents are from Baguio so visited a lot particularly when it’s blistering hot in Manila.
Thank you 😊
I'm glad you gals made it. And its good to see they taking care of that place nicely. I'm also hoping you could visit Crater Lake or Mapanuepe Lake in Zambales its completely different vibe now since Mount Pinatubo erupted in the 90's and it transformed into completely different environment. Mapaneupe Lake was once a town and now its under a lake. I almost forgot to mention Yugourt House in Baguio also great yogourt fruit bowls.
Thank you for the suggestions we will look into these as they sound amazing 😊
@@Onthemovetravelstories Travel Advisor usually i use for travelling it is useful when it comes to costs of lodging you kinda get an idea even though prices change.
You guys should also visit the pink/red sand beach of the philippines
Ok we will add this to our list thank you 😊
You're nearing our place,Baguio City. A bit similar to Sagada but too much tourist. Been to Sagada 8 years ago but never knew about the blue soil, there's even a famous waterfall there but we didn't see it.
We love Baguio 😊
@@Onthemovetravelstories oh you've been here,oh vlogs aren't posted on realtime.
Thanks for sharing your journey, there are thousands more to explore in the Philippines, make the most of it before going back to England, or just stay in the Philippines for good.
We wish we could stay for good 😊
I like unripe guava
I RECOMMEND YOU VISIT BATANES , ASK TO JONH were BATANES, and BAGIUO and VIGAN, TAGAYTAY CLOSE TO MANILA,
Thank you for the suggestions 😊
Wow only few people featured this place on RUclips. it's so unique part of sagada
It sure is 🤩
Hello ladies...super excited to see your new destination 😀
Thank you 😊
it gets blue in color especially when it gets wet by a rain because of high content of copper sulfate
It’s amazing 🤩

Thank you 😊
if you really fancy hot chocolate, pls do try TABLEA(TAB-LEAH) ... its pure cacao chocolate boiled to perfection and pair it with SUMAN... yum!!!
No way we have to try this! Thank you 😊
You made me crave on food and treats you had!!!! Glad to know you had fun in Sagada! Yayyyy 🎉
Good treats in Sagada and thank you 😊
Native guavas in Philippines 😘💕
we usually put bit of salt on that fruit
No way that would be sour
So I am guessing that you liked the guava fruit you were both eating at the blue soil mountain top. The pinkish or reddish inside of the guava is the good kind. If you ever had a guava drink, now you have eaten the actual fruit. Enjoy and nice adventure for both of you. The light fog or mist does not look like you are in the Phils.
We love Guava 😍
