  • What we got up to in this video...
What a day to finish off our Sagada trip we spent the day with John again to visit the Blue Soil Hills! We are still not 100% sure why it’s so blue, but we are glad it rained that day as we could really see the beautiful bright blue coming through.
It reminded us of back in the UK and we did really enjoy the walk to see this very unique thing!
We hoped you enjoyed this video and if you did then please show us some support by subscribing to our channel and being part of the on the move community!

We LOVED our trip to The Philippines and we went to 14 different places in total from going all the way up North to Vigan, to the islands down South with the bluest water we have ever seen! 🇵🇭
We enjoyed many adventures together in this beautiful country and tried as much food as we could fit in too!
We would really appreciate any recommendations and ideas for our next trip, anything we missed? Where do you think we’d enjoy exploring next?

I'm curious what mineral it is. Maybe copper? They turn blue when exposed to air and water.
EDIT: his explanation is pretty spot on. Copper oxidizes and turns into a blue-green "rust" called verdigris. It's also why the Statue of Liberty is blue-green. It was originally shiny copper.

Been to Sagada only once, though not to the Blue Soil Hills, but I spoke to a friend of mine who's been up there a number of times. She told me she was informed by the Sagada tourism bureau that the blue soil is caused by its copper sulfate content. She also said the hllls do become more blue right after the rains stop, like you mentioned. Great achievement for you both. Congratulations.

Miss that place(I'd been there 2019), so peaceful something mystical. And something I like about the towns there is that although located in the midst of the mountains the people there are living a well balanced/decent way of living as a community which is very nice, better as compared to those in the lowlands or island areas wherein you can notice the obvious disparity of the haves & the have-Nots. Anyways left you a sub but you guys miss 2 beautiful falls w/ amazing view of rice terraces even the nearby pottery located just 1 kilometer from the center which is fun to try, maybe next time/year during the summer months.

So I am guessing that you liked the guava fruit you were both eating at the blue soil mountain top. The pinkish or reddish inside of the guava is the good kind. If you ever had a guava drink, now you have eaten the actual fruit. Enjoy and nice adventure for both of you. The light fog or mist does not look like you are in the Phils.
