One thing I love about SBB Yamato is that you can tell that Yamato stills has her souls of the IJN Yamato. Even if she is truly reborn as a Japanese Vessel who also now have a Second chance of Fighting a worthy opponents till the very end like her old self intended to. A Beacon of Hope.
i haven't gotten the chance to watch the whole series, but did they trancend to the realm of the goddamn world tree at the end? maybe it holds significance for those who understand the leijiverse, Leiji Matsumoto's expansive web of works including space battleship yamato, space pirate captain harlock, galaxy express 999, and dozens of others. i tried skimming through the broad summary of events in the leijiverse and barely made it a third of the way before tapping out, it is dense

@@EllaijahplayzGamez I thought I replied but apparently I didn't? It is like 19.99 for SD and like....26.99 for HD and they split both 2199 and 2202 into 2 seasons each for a total of 4 seasons. So for SD that is like 40$ and for HD that is like 60$ if you want to round up.
2202 for me anyway just feels so much more... idk how to describe it, hollow? the ships feel very ctrl c ctrl v, battles are larger in scope but it feels empty. like my smashing my legos together as a child. 2199 had more detail and choreography worked into the battle scenes. whereas this is very clearly the same model doing the same thing 200× in the cgi machine.
For those who don,t know about yamato or her ww2 old self well she served for the japanese vcarrying soldiers to okinawa to support the beaches but while on the journey a American submarine saw yamato reporting this to the American navy soon yamato was assaulted by 3 carriers by the usa planes from the USA were blazing their guns at the yamato torpedos or torpedo bombers it took five or three torpedos to take down the yamato since the bottom part of her was not really heavily armored the torpedos managed to break the bottom part of the yamato making water go in the bottom part then she flipped over a fire then started near her fuesalage then exploding into two pieces then sinking tot he bottom of the ocean two medium cruisers broke away from her fleet then if yamato did have thise the cruisers she would be a mueseum for us today
The whole Dimensional sub thing was pretty far fetched, then again one ship defeating armada after armada could be called the same thing, all in all the reboots (2199 and 2202) are actually in most ways better both in story telling as well as animation.
Agreed on that last point, however, I think the original has a certain charm and soul that’s missing from 2199 and it’s sequels. The two biggest things missing in my opinion being the relationship between Okita and Kodai and the overall aura of the Yamato (ie, Yamato feels more alive in the original) I’m not bashing 2199’s take on the story, in fact there are some significant improvements over the original that make it a more believable story than the original. For me, both versions are fantastic.
@@Rock-n-Metal-Realm, I never got to watch the OG yamato series, i got the Star Blazers version (The one imported to the US in the early 1980's) so my statement on better story is correct in my viewpoint,. I'll take your word on the japanese story being better

@ Basically. It gets a little confusing once Desslok comes back (similar to how he returns in the original S2). But overall it’s a pretty interesting version of the story.
Sorry, the first third or so was okay but then the story ... just seemed to go off the rails. Also, do Yamato fans really want to put her to bed forever, or would they rather have her keep boldly going?

２１９９年から始まる物語ながら天文物理的な仕組みを丁寧に語っている。今でも発見されてないタキオン粒子も出てくる。ワープ航法はスタートレックとは少し違うが基本的に時空を折り曲げる意味では同じ。あとタイミングが重要でミスしたら宇宙が消滅してしまう。あのカリスマのガミラス帝国最大のライバルとの戦闘は涙が出てくる。完結編でアクエリアスの水柱を断ち切るためにYAMATOは真っ二つに折れてしまい沈没するが、デスラー総統は涙を流して悲しんだ事を覚えている。YAMATO２白色彗星、YAMATO３の太陽の変、YAMATOと永久に前後半、そして完結編全てデスラーが助け船を出している。小学生の自分は宇宙物理学を専攻し学んで仕事の中で貢献したと思います。

I get confused by some of the later yamato stuff when it seems like gamilons and fighting with yamato...I thought in the original they were destroyed.
In the remake, Yamato doesn’t wipe out the population of the Gamilon home planet and a formal alliance forms after the events of the first season.
