Thank you so much for this video. We will be attempting to remove and install a radiator today.
I bought the car not too long ago and got in a car wreck. I can’t afford to get another car and I’m being quoted $500 to replace the alternator, money which I don’t have.
I have already bought the new alternator, I paid $200 for it.
I’ve never learned anything about mechanical work so thank you so much for taking the time to upload these types of videos.
Y’all pray for us that everything goes well. Thank you. ❤

There is a special pliers designed for those rad hose clamps. I never knew until about 10 years ago. Lol!
The real funny thing is that I had the pliers about 25 years ago and never knew what they were for.

I have two sets of those pliers. In some cases they are more difficult to use.

I’ve watched this and several others on replacing the radiator while looking at my Enclave (same build) and I don’t understand why go through all the hassle of taking the bumper off?
Seems like you can just take the hood latch off and separate the condenser and push it slighty out and separate the fan and push it a little back and be able to lift the radiator out?
Seems like the only thing that gets a little in the way are the ‘wind funneling strips’ on the side but they are pliable enough to move around to accommodate removing the radiator. Plenty of room in the front of the engine bay to fairly easily get to all the connections on the back of the radiator/fan.
Why wouldn’t that be a lot quicker and easier?

I just saw a mechanic do this . I’m not sure if it was easier but he did it with out taking the bumper off

@@bryansprojects3570 Knipex cobra pliers. Just the regular ones. The teeth bite like crazy and don't slip off. I've got the actual pliers also but prefer the cobras.

I left all the bottom bolts on and it left more than enough room to work, didn’t feel like trying to hold it up and align it

You know what's a weird man.... Mine looks exactly like yours like it has the same bend... I didn't hit anything so it makes me wonder if it just pressure that bent it... And it's bent same side

I am pretty sure I found it on Amazon. There are a lot of choices so be sure to measure the one you have.

Do u have to remove bumper for power steering radiator?

    • @bryansprojects3570

I am pretty sure you will need to remove the bumper cover, that thing is tucked way up in there. The bu per cover is pretty easy to take off and access to the cooler hoses is a lot easier by doing that.
