XCOM Unpossible - Prelude

A new saga begins.
XCOM's Ironman Impossible kicked my ass. So I'm back to return the favour. Or at least try. Consider the Ironman Impossible Experience the pilot for this video series.
Played with the Enemy Within DLC, with Operation Progeny and Slingshot disabled, and no Second Wave options.
For anybody who wants to strap in for the ride but doesn't into Xcom, I'll be slipping all the information you'll need to "get it" inbetween the memes and in the descriptions. As for what I/I is:
- Ironman Mode: You have one save file and cannot manually save or load. The game autosaves after every action and when you quit. XCOM has permadeath, but without being able to reload older saves, each mistake is truly permanent in Ironman mode. If you've played the new Doom games, this is Ultra Nightmare.
- Impossible Difficulty: XCOM is known for its difficulty, even on easier modes it will punish mistakes relentlessly. RNG is prominent and learning to mitigate bad rolls is an important skill. Every facet of the game is stacked against you in Impossible, a pack of fodder aliens in Classic isn't much to worry about as long as you're positioned well and can mostly be wiped out before their turn even begins. In Impossible, that same fodder pack can tank a hit or two before proceeding pick apart your squad through full cover one by one, and then dance the macarena over their corpses.
