    This came out perfect, and was delicious. It really is a treat, so soft and springy. I used fresh yeast, as thats what I happened to have on hand at the time, and gave it a sponging beforehand (based on your sponge technique in other recipes). Thanks for sharing this recipe. I wouldn't have tried an American chain restaurant recipe if it hadn't been recommended by you.

    Thank you very much for this recipe. Made EXACTLY like you described and the dough looked EXACTLY like yours and felt as I would expect. A bit of a long rise [2hr] to double using SAF dry active yeast but well worth the wait. Sorry for all the low life vermin who like to make negative comments. You are a joy!

    Made this tonight to go with my husbands filet mignon and my prime rib eye. My husband doesn't eat bread at our night time meal but he had 2 pieces! Great recipe! I did get lazy and got my kitchen Aide out,lol! This is my new favorite bread!

    Hello Titli, I made the bread, it came out beautiful and delicious! Since we have two strict Vegans (no meat, dairy or honey) in our family, I substituted the honey with Blue Agave (sweet nectar from a succulent plant, resembling a cactus). I also reduced the sugar to 1 tsp. "Thank you so much/ I'll be making this bread often. "

    10 minutes of kneading! Oh Lordy Lordy...I may need to stretch first before I head into the kitchen LOL! Get my sweat on! Your voice is lovely. Makes me want to pack my kids off onto an airplane to have you read to them. Seriously....you need a channel where you read children's books to kids. My kiddos would be parked in front of the screen listening like little angels. (This is not the case when I read to them lol.) Thanks so much for the recipe. I'm going to warm up my muscles and go bake some right now!

    I use a dark colored honey that also darkens even my regular "white" loaves. With all that sweetening in it, no wonder American taste buds love this bread. Downright addictive! :)) Self-medicating... :))

    Hi, Titli, I baked it today and it was delicious; your instructions are absolutely clear and objective. Congratulations for them! Only a detail: I remember, as my wife remarked, that Outback's bread has a special sweet flavour. She speculates that the molasses measure can be a little bit increased: is this a good idea?

    There's a bakery 30 mins south of my that has this "sunflower molasses" bread, and I strongly suspect this recipe is super close if not the one they based their recipe on. That sunflower (seed) molasses bread is one of if not the best sandwich bread I've ever had. It's absolutely incredible on something like a turkey sandwich buttered, with tomato, cheese, and avocado.
    If anyone watches this an isn't quite sure. I definitely recommend experimenting IMMEDIATELY with breads of this flavour profile.

    Hello, I really enjoy watching your bread video ... I have 1 question .... would it be possible to make a video on how to make finnish Bread ? they are small and round and rather flat ... but very difficult to find ... I think they use rye flour but I'm not sure :D .... but they are superb and I just love them :)

    They used to make this bread at a restaurant (now defunct) called 'Ebineezer's'. But they did it in flower pots served table-side. Would that work for this recipe? Would you change anything?

    We've not been there to sample their fare, still am fascinated with the thought of cocoa and coffee in bread. These are 2 of my favorites, so simply have to give this a try! Also, if my memory serves me, I believe in one of your video's comment section you mentioned you have a doctorate in chemistry. No offense meant to anyone, but your knowledge of chemical reaction, I'm going to prepare your recipes, before even considering any others. Thank you for sharing this recipe. Mrs. Tc

    Hello I would like to know how much time for the Doug to rise ;the first one the one is in a glass container. Yo did not said the time please replay I want to make that bread this week thanks

      It generally depends on the temperature of your kitchen. If it's warm, it should rise in about 1 hr. If it's colder it will rise in about 2-3hrs. The longer it rises the more gluten strands form, so it won't be bad if you let it ride for a while. But Atleast rise it for 1 hr or until it doubles in size.

    The dough looks amazing. You can sense it will turn to be an amazing bread. Can I ask if this bread is considered a sweet bread? I never had it.

      Taboon Bakery Its flavour is complex. There is a hint of sweetness and also some "deeper" flavours from the molasses. It's more like an intense granary bread taste if you've ever had granary bread.

    Will this recipe work using the "no-knead" method in that the ingredients are mixed together then left to ferment 12-18 hours before final proving and baking?

      See kneading gives double benefit. 1 tasty bread, 2. Arms will be toned so well. Actually I used to wonder how can someone do this long kneading, waiting to proof n all. But you just start, you will know gradually it's not a big deal.

      +Idiot Savant Incarnate Dude. Calm down! The Outback Steakhouse is a chain of restaurants in the USA. They serve something they call "bushman bread" but similar recipes turn up in other restaurant chains which do not have the Aussie theme and are known by other names. I think they call it "poetic licence". ;-)

    May I once again suggest that you let the dough rest for an hour after mixing the ingredients and before the kneading. The flour needs time to absorb all the water so by letting the dough rest you will get more results from the kneading, and it will be easier to handle

    Hi, I do not get the oven part.
    1) Fan oven meaning with fan on?
    2) Can I apply the normal oven temperature for my fan oven (without turning on fan)
    3) I always have some problem with removing bread out of pan (not non-stick because it is very expensive in my country here) eventhough I grease it.

      Maggie Yeo Fan oven means fan on so the answer to 2 is yes. My loaf pan is also not non-stick. I use butter to grease it and I use my fingers to ensure that every crease and corner is well greased. If the bread sticks it's usually in the creases and corners!

      ***** Thanks very much Titli, for your prompt response :) I also have another problem. I have followed your recipe closely. Everything is good except for the baking part. Usually it is wet at bottom even though I followed the normal fan Celsius precisely and plus, I'm using an it oven temperature. It does not occurred just on breads, even cakes the same too :( I did bake my cake more than an hour to 2 hours plus. Is it my oven heat flow problem? But my oven temperature states exactly like the recipe. So more I have tested it with my 2 different oven temperatures (they are new). Is it my oven or the racking allocation?

      It might help if you set the racks so that whatever you are baking is near the top of the oven. It's always hotter at the top of the oven than the bottom. Also does your oven have heating elements on the top AND bottom? If so you need to be sure they are both working.

    Question: you say 300 grams of water, but your measuring cup shows 300 mL. Which is it, so this expensive recipe comes out correctly? Thank you! Awesome, clear directions. Just that one question.

    In researching your flour & water measurements, the UK is more or less of American measurements.
    So....to be accurate, I am assuming you are utilizing the UK gram weight measurements. Correct?

      One ml water = 1gram, 300ml water = 300grams, one litre water = 1 kg The metric measurement system is standardised worldwide.
      That's the beauty of metric, you don't have to worry about american cup and British cup sizes or American vs Imperial Gallons.
      Just use metric measurements to get it right. Cheers!
